Shawna's daughter took the dogs for a walk and it was great! She did well with the dogs and I enjoyed meeting her. Will ask for their help again.

I was in a tight schedule and one sitter had moved long ago from Colorado and with another I got a false acceptance, paid, and then received an unavailable notice and a third just never responded. Krystal came to the rescue and she visited and took care of Zion for two days while I was down in Denver at meetings. Great personality, responsible and sent me regular updates.

About: I love all animals and will definitely love yours! My love for cats has brought me all over the world. I've volunteered at cat sanctuaries in Greece, Spain, and Costa Rica. I get a lot of joy from being around animals and it is in my nature to love them. I grew up with cats and dogs, and have fostered over 30 cats in the last few years. I’ve also cared for 2 dogs long term recently. I’m very active and love walking dogs, both on the street and on trails, and have the ability to care for pups both in my home or their home. I don't currently have any pets of my own, I do foster kittens sometimes. I work part time and can take breaks flexibly. I can do pet care in the morning, in the daytime, or in the evening. I can care for pets in their home or in mine. I have a fenced yard, an indoor catio cage, no other pets (except occasional foster cats), a calm household with just 2 chill adults, and my partner works from home and is usually home in the day.

About: An experienced and professional petsitter who has previously worked for On Paws Professional Pet Services in San Marcos, Texas. I have also grown up with two dogs and a bird, who have since passed. My roommates' cats and dogs have felt like family to me, and treated as such. Since living on my own I’ve had my own cat, Umami who is the cutest character and wild child that I loved so dearly! I would love to keep your pet company (and vise versa!) I’m currently only working remotely part-time, so I have some wiggle room to care for your pet(s)! I would be able to feed, play, and walk with them during my time off! I would definitely treat them as my own, and try to make them as happy and comfortable as possible, while making sure their needs are met.

About: I have over 12 years of professional experience working with dogs, including shelter and rescue work, animal control, and managing a busy dog daycare and boarding facility. I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds, and personalities, including puppies, seniors, high-energy dogs, and dogs that may need a little extra patience. I have extensive experience reading canine body language, managing safe dog interactions, following feeding and medication routines, and recognizing when something just isn’t quite right. Most importantly, I treat every dog in my care like an individual and want them to feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine and is something I’m used to planning my schedule around. I currently have a flexible schedule and plenty of availability for walks, drop-ins, and sitting. As I take on part-time work, I’ll continue scheduling bookings around my work hours so every pet gets the time, attention, exercise, and routine they need. I try to keep each pet’s routine as familiar and consistent as possible. I follow all feeding, walking, medication, and care instructions closely and make sure pets get plenty of attention, exercise, and downtime based on their individual needs. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of their space and keep things clean and secure. In my home, I focus on creating a calm, safe environment and closely supervise interactions so every pet stays comfortable and happy.

About: I’ve grown up with both cats and dogs my whole life. I began pet and baby sitting for my childhood neighborhood before the time I was 10 years old. I also have experience in house cleaning services of 2 years :) I work from home. In addition I also am in school online - so I have a very flexible schedule for drop ins or go on walks. I also have a car if necessary. I have a cat who I let outside to roam the neighborhood throughout the day. I’ve boarded animals in the past, but now that I live in a home with a toddler and as well as 2 animals I’m currently unavailable for boarding; however I can still take care of your animal elsewhere- feed them, take them on walks/hikes, or to the park to play. I’ve been house sitting, taking care of various pets, and baby sitting for almost all of my life.

Jamie is the best! We come up to Tahoe regularly and every time she is up for walking our pup without question. Even made arrangements for a walk within 2 hours, saving the day for us while we were on the slopes. She lets the pup run free which tires her out and we all know that a tired pup is a good pup :)

Kymberly took my pup out for the first time, and he had a blast! She sent me updates upon arrival, during the walk, and when she dropped him back at home. It was a last minute booking, and we didn't have time for a meet n greet, but her updates were very assuring while I was away for the day. When I need help again, I will certainly check Kymberly's availability first!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
