Madison was great! She was able to accommodate a same-day request, which I really appreciated. She took Annika on an adventure to the park, and Annika came home completely pooped. It was clear she had a great time. I would definitely book with Madison again!

About: Animals are one of my favorite things in the world. I can take care of all different species, but am most knowledgeable with dogs and cats. I can administer medications, bathe, excercise and more. But most importantly, I can make sure they’re happy and safe! I am home from college for the summer, so I have plenty of time to take care of your fur babies and can provide flexible scheduling too! I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while in my care. I follow feeding schedules, give plenty of attention and playtime, and can crate pets if needed. I also keep owners updated with pictures and messages for peace of mind.

About: I’ve been a dog lover for as long as I can remember. Growing up around animals taught me early on how much love, patience, and attention they need to thrive. Dogs have always held a special place in my heart, and caring for them comes naturally to me. I understand that pets are family, and I treat every dog with the same care, affection, and responsibility I would give my own. Creating a safe, happy, and comfortable environment for them isn’t just important to me, it’s something I genuinely enjoy. I work part-time, which gives me the flexibility to be home often and provide attentive, hands on care. This means more playtime, regular walks, consistent routines, and plenty of love for your pup throughout the day. When caring for pets in my home, I provide a safe, structured, and loving environment. I have a fully fenced-in yard for secure outdoor play and exercise, as well as a crate available if a dog is crate trained or needs their own quiet space. I also have a friendly, well socialized Lab who loves other dogs and makes a great companion for pups who enjoy having a playmate.

About: I’ve had lifelong experience caring for pets of my own and have spent the past 6 years pet sitting for others. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I truly treat every pet in my care like family. I have experience with dogs of all sizes, personalities, and energy levels, as well as cats and other small pets. From playful puppies to senior pets who need a gentler pace, I’m comfortable adapting to each pet’s unique routine and needs. I’m confident with: • Feeding schedules and special diets • Daily walks and exercise • Basic medication administration • Maintaining routines and house rules • Sending regular photo and video updates My goal is always to provide loving, reliable care so you can feel completely at ease while you’re away. Your pet’s safety, happiness, and comfort are my top priorities. Pet care is a natural part of my daily life. I build my schedule around the pets I’m caring for to ensure they receive consistent attention, exercise, and companionship. Whether it’s morning walks, midday check-ins, or evening feedings, I prioritize maintaining each pet’s normal routine. I make time every day for walks, playtime, feeding schedules, and lots of affection. I’m very mindful about not overbooking so that each pet gets the focused care and attention they deserve. Because animals have always been a big part of my life, caring for them doesn’t feel like an extra task — it’s something I genuinely enjoy and plan my week around. When caring for pets in their own home, my top priority is keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding schedules, walks, medications, and any special preferences to ensure consistency and comfort. I provide: • Fresh food and water at each visit • Clean litter boxes or yard clean-up as needed • Walks and exercise based on your pet’s energy level • Playtime, enrichment, and companionship • Plenty of affection (if they enjoy it!) • Detailed updates with photos after each visit I also treat every client’s home with the utmost respect — keeping things tidy, secure, and exactly as you left them. My goal is for you to return to a happy pet and a well-cared-for home.

About: I’m retired and using my spare time to look after fur babies of all shapes and sizes. I love pets and have years of experience in animal training too! If you’re looking for full time, comprehensive care, this is it. 😊 As a retired veteran, this is my main source of income and I’m very dedicated to it. I am involved in pet care every day because I have a dog and cat of my own and I love them like family. Taking care of animals puts me at ease and helping others is my mission in life, so I’m very devoted to doing this job well. My complex is gated and I have created a special space in my home for guest pets. I have LOTS of toys and training tools available so the fun never stops! I follow instructions to the letter and do my absolute best to go above and beyond in all that I do. Animals are such a beautiful blessing on this Earth and I really treasure every opportunity to interact with them. It just makes me happy!

About: I've taken care of dogs of every kind since I was 10. Neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to walk, feed, and bathe their pets, and I truly love every moment of it. I always focus on keeping pets happy, safe, and comfortable, whether it's for daily walks, playtime, or overnight stays. You can count on me to treat your pet like my own! As a college student, my schedule is flexible between classes. I can do late mornings, midday check-ins, and early evenings, with open weekends for extended care or overnights. About: My name is Sara! I'm a dog enthusiast with 20 years experience training, exercising, and caring for dogs. I graduated from Penn Foster Career School's Dog Training Program. I love to help people fulfill their dogs needs! I look forward to meeting you and your pup! I work with dogs full time so I'm able to fulfill their daily needs with ease. We walk every day but also go on adventures to the park and beach. I'm Pet CPR and First Aid Trained. I have a completely fenced yard, but dogs are supervised at all times. I have experience with fearful dog safety. Dogs are crated or tethered while driving. Someone is almost always home with the dogs. I also have a Furbo video camera to monitor dogs if I do need to leave for a short time. ***Due to having 2-3 dogs staying with me at times, I only offer meet & greets, pick up, and drop off from my clients homes. I find this keeps the excitement and stress level down for all dogs staying. It's also more convenient for you and me. If you want to see the accommodations, I can do a video tour with you. I also post videos and pics to my social media so you can see what your dog is up to during there stay.***

About: I have always loved dogs! I used to get so mad at my parents as a kid for making our dog stay outside alone. I used to sit outside with her to make sure she always felt loved. When I turned 20 I adopted my first dog, Lily a Great Dane, and then at 23 my husband and I adopted our little chipper! We’ve had a turtle and lots of fish in between then and now! I always loved going on adventures with them: lots of road trips, hikes, runs and trips to the beach (when we lived there). Lily is no longer with us but was the best dog to adventure with. Our 13 year old chipper is starting to slow down and his arthritis is causing him to be unable to walk as far as we used to. He’s been on all the hikes around here, we would go to watering holes and beaches. With smallish kids and busy schedules we are not planning on adopting another dog anytime soon. I miss having a buddy to go on hikes in the woods with so if you want your pup to have an adventure I am here to help! I’m a full time mom but I don’t pick up my youngest from school until 11:30 am. I will have 3 hours everyday free M-Fr. I would love to take your best friend out into the woods to offer him more enrichment than he could get just in a neighborhood! I would be willing to buy a harness for a dog to be kept in the back seat while traveling- if that would make you comfortable! I’ve got window locks on my back door windows to make sure they don’t jump out. I am not willing to take a dog if the lead during hikes even if they have a great recall- too much can happen in the woods! I’m pretty confident on the hikes that I take and I only go places that I am familiar with the terrain.

About: I have been a pet lover since birth. Throughout my life, I had lived with dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, snakes and even a pet skunk. I have been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to assist and care for injured and rehabilitated raptors, spent several years as a foster mom for orphaned bats, and assisted in researching black bears. I currently live with three sweetie pie pups, a 9 and 6 year old golden retrievers, Deal and Bear and a 7 year old mixed rescue named Carly. I am available to come to your home and walk, run, feed, water, cuddle, and play with your animal(s). Your pets will love me and I will love them back. I am currently working from my home, so I have plenty of availability for whatever and whenever you need someone to help out with your home and pets. Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Salem. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Salem.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

  • 94% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
