“Christine was able to take a last minute booking during a family emergency. She was easy to communicate with and let us know when she arrived and when she left and sent a picture of our girls. She even left them sweet blankets!”

About: I have had a dog since middle school. I had a standard poodle, and now my family has a golden retriever. I have lived with roommates in college with a chocolate lab and a rescue puppy. I am currently in my hometown for the summer months and looking to earn a little money before grad school. I love dogs and have a lot of experience with a multitude of different dogs due to family, roommates, and friends. I love to go on walks and understand the stress it causes owners to be away from home so long without being able to take their pet out to use the bathroom/walk. I would love to help in that regard! I will have respect for your home and dog’s/your safety. I prefer instructions so I can meet all your requests! Obviously there is a lot of trust needed for this type of work and I want to make sure to respect that.
“I was so nervous to leave MG alone but Rover has some great people and we are very blessed to have found out about this service. I was also especially nervous because MG is a rescue that I rescued myself and so not much information is known. So im still navigating and understanding her personality. She did so good with Valleri and im so happy that it went good. I also feel relieved MG has been able to go outside for a while and eat and drink. Thanks so much for all you do!!”

“We returned home to two happy pups after a weekend vacation. The visits were perfectly on time and the updates were great piece of mind. Great job we will be happy to hire again”

“Ashley did an outstanding job with our elderly dog and young cat. She provided lots of updates (with photos of our happy pets getting love!) and we felt that they received excellent care. 10/10 Would book again!”
About: I have been surrounded by dogs and cats my entire life, learning from a young age exactly what it takes to keep pets happy, safe, and comfortable. Whether your fur baby needs a high-energy walk, a strict feeding schedule followed, or just some dedicated cuddle time, I treat every animal as if they were my own. I'm incredibly attentive to their body language and daily routines to ensure they feel right at home. Im currently working a part time job at the hospital so I have plenty of time for your furry friends!! Im available at any time!! I live in an apartment with two of my own fur babies. I have a huge yard out front and back and live in a nice community area good for walking dogs. My apartment is very spacious for any animals coming over and my cats are very friendly and adapted to all types of animals.
About: I have taken care of animals since I was young, when I became a teenager I started to help my mom take care of animals and staying for a few days at the homeowners houses. Also, on the weekends I dog and cat sat for my friend and her family at there house ranging from 2 days to a few weeks. I am a college student, so I usually have classes in the morning and the rest of the day free. I might have a few shifts at my job that keeps me occupied for 5-7 hours a couple of times a week. I play with them a few hours and take them outside every 4-8 hours. I like to take dogs on walks, and I clean the litter every 2-3 days.
“Amy was fantastic! We would trust Amy with our furry little ones every time! Amy was always right on time. Her messages included the bad (💩 on floor) along with all of the good. We received a message after every visit including pictures of the dogs. The care she showed our dogs allowed us to enjoy our time away.”

“Steph is such a doll! She made time in her busy Christmas schedule to stop by and let the dogs out and feed them. It was great to not have to worry about them while we were gone. The dogs loved her, as usual. I could tell by all the smiley faces in the pictures she took!”

About: I have dog sat for numerous family friends for afternoons, weekends, or an occasional walk. I have also had some dogs of my own that are my world! I would love to give love to your furry friends when you are away! I am currently a college student, so I have a very flexible schedule everyday. Also my weekends are typically free to help out with your pups! I always give plenty of pets and attention to all animals. Making sure they are well fed and hydrated is a must, with plenty of treats mixed into that as well!
“Vanessa was great with my cats. She remembered the little details I mentioned and it went a long way. Our cats seem to have been happy with her visiting, and that makes me happy! I will definitely rebook with her in the future!”

About: Guaranteeing love, attention, and compassion when you need to step away from home regardless for length of time or reason. I am highly dedicated to my families and their furry family members. I add a touch of difference with the care I provide to all of the animals I work with in that I treat each one individually and never work in a "cookie cutter" approach. I started working with and training animals (horses and dogs) at the age of fifteen. Throughout the years, my interest and passion with animals grew, as well as my experience. I currently have two dogs, a german shepherd and a very entertaining rescue mix. With my german shepherd, we are a K9 team with a search and rescue organization where we are called upon by law enforcement only for people who go lost or missing throught the upper Midwest. I still currently train dogs of all breeds, ages, and temperaments, in addition to training service dogs through an individually owned local business. Due to my long-term experience, I am able to adapt to your pets' individual needs with age, both young and old. I am trained in pet first-aid and CPR, and I am comfortable with any prescribed medical care needs you may have necessary for them. I truly enjoy building a sincere bond and connection with each family I encounter so that when they step away, they can feel at ease and enjoy their time without distress or worry. Topnotch care is my priority! I have decided after many years of working in family care industries, that my remaining years, I want to follow what was my childhood dream. Working with animals, yet still getting to keep my other passion, family care. I couldn't ask for a better combination. With my many years of experience, I always adapt my care to each of my pets needs. As I previously had mentioned I don't believe in "cookie cutter care" approach. I tailor my care to each pets individual needs and concerns.
“Kaylee did an excellent job caring for my kitties, Hank and Abbey. She was very detailed and thorough in her updates, sent lots of pictures, and they were very well cared for in my absence. I would highly recommend Kaylee to anyone, and will definitely be booking with her again in the future!”

About: I have lived with animals my entire life, including dogs, cats, and other pets. I’ve also volunteered with a dog adoption agency that focuses on elderly dogs, giving me valuable experience in caring for senior pets. In addition, I have pet-sitting experience with animals of all ages, from energetic puppies and kittens to older dogs and cats. This background has helped me develop the skills and patience needed to provide exceptional care for pets at every stage of life. Additionally, with working with elderly dogs, I have dealt with all sorts of different medical conditions and have experience administering medications. Pet care is an important part of my daily life, and I prioritize making time for it. Whether it’s feeding, walking, playing, or grooming, I enjoy building routines that ensure pets are happy, healthy, and well-cared for. I’m flexible with my schedule, which allows me to adapt to the needs of both the pets and their owners. Caring for animals brings me joy, and I’m committed to making it a regular part of my routine. I prioritize safety, trust, and comfort when caring for pets, whether in my home or my client’s home. I ensure the environment is secure by removing potential hazards and keeping doors and fences closed. I follow all instructions provided by the owner, from feeding schedules to exercise routines, and I pay close attention to the pet’s behavior and needs. Building trust is key, so I take the time to help pets feel comfortable and at ease while maintaining open communication with their owners to provide updates and peace of mind.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
