“Christine was very good with my dog. He’s busy and anxious at times. But she was kind and loving to him. She also was able to help last minute as another sitter backed out, causing a fuss- she was helpful and a lifesaver.”

About: I’ve had dogs around the house since I was 2 years old and have had many other pets ranging from rats to hedgehogs! I been able to adequately take care of each for as long as i’ve had them! I am currently on summer break from college so I have plenty of time to walk dogs and get in the time they need outside! I was able to take my elder dog on walks everyday to keep him active and get him his time outside. I also helped around the house with taking care of him, playing, and feeding him.
“Very happy with Abby! We wouldn’t hesitate to contact her again for our next trip. We have 2 cats and they usually hide when strangers come to the house. Not with Abby though. They knew she was an animal person and they were out and interested in what she was doing. She was able to pet them and hang out with them.”

About: I have taken care of animals since I was young, when I became a teenager I started to help my mom take care of animals and staying for a few days at the homeowners houses. Also, on the weekends I dog and cat sat for my friend and her family at there house ranging from 2 days to a few weeks. I am a college student, so I usually have classes in the morning and the rest of the day free. I might have a few shifts at my job that keeps me occupied for 5-7 hours a couple of times a week. I play with them a few hours and take them outside every 4-8 hours. I like to take dogs on walks, and I clean the litter every 2-3 days.
“Marea has been a huge help to me and my picky dog! She stays in communication with me and has gotten me out of a few binds when I reach out with short notice. You and your pet will love her!”

“Steph is such a doll! She made time in her busy Christmas schedule to stop by and let the dogs out and feed them. It was great to not have to worry about them while we were gone. The dogs loved her, as usual. I could tell by all the smiley faces in the pictures she took!”

About: I have been surrounded by dogs and cats my entire life, learning from a young age exactly what it takes to keep pets happy, safe, and comfortable. Whether your fur baby needs a high-energy walk, a strict feeding schedule followed, or just some dedicated cuddle time, I treat every animal as if they were my own. I'm incredibly attentive to their body language and daily routines to ensure they feel right at home. Im currently working a part time job at the hospital so I have plenty of time for your furry friends!! Im available at any time!! I live in an apartment with two of my own fur babies. I have a huge yard out front and back and live in a nice community area good for walking dogs. My apartment is very spacious for any animals coming over and my cats are very friendly and adapted to all types of animals.
“Ashley did an outstanding job with our elderly dog and young cat. She provided lots of updates (with photos of our happy pets getting love!) and we felt that they received excellent care. 10/10 Would book again!”
“Mikayla did a great job with our senior kitty, who needed meds daily. I appreciated her thorough updates. And it was great to know our kitty was getting some love and attention while we were away!”

About: I have taken care of friends fur babies, family members pets, and others through word of mouth. I am very excited to work with pets. I have experience in training my puppy over the last year and caring for her daily needs. I have always grown up with animals. I have most experience with dogs that have anxiety. I have taken care all of sizes of dogs, with as many as four at a time. I am an elementary teacher and am lucky to have summers off with great hours in the school months. I am open daily in summer months morning to night. In school months I work from 7-3pm and am home by 3:30pm. I have a fenced in yard with lots of play room! My puppy loves to play, run with other dogs, and sunbathe in it. I am also lucky to live next to two walking trails as well as a neighborhood sidewalk path that provides great quick walks! I always make a point of connecting with the pets for a longer amount of time when letting them out. This way I can ensure that they feel comfortable and have gotten the stimulation and attention they need to keep them happy!
About: I will treat your pet like they’re mine 😃 I’ve been walking dogs since December at the humane society. I also volunteer at a cat rescue I work full time 5am to 2pm and then volunteer on the side. I’d like to be available a few times a week i think. At the humane society, we focus on safety as our priority for me and the pet, I will do the same with your dog or cat.
About: I grew up having dogs and we have been a dog family for the last 6 years. We have a black lab pitty mix. I am familiar with all types of breeds and our Mocha has some reactivity to other dogs and is an escape artist so I know how important it is to follow directions and keep pups safe. I work 4-5 days a week but I am done by 4:30 and could do an early morning or late afternoon drop in or spend the evenings at your home. I can only offer services in your home. Mocha is a spoiled “only” dog but I am more than happy to come to your home and spoil your pooch!

About: I have had a dog since middle school. I had a standard poodle, and now my family has a golden retriever. I have lived with roommates in college with a chocolate lab and a rescue puppy. I am currently in my hometown for the summer months and looking to earn a little money before grad school. I love dogs and have a lot of experience with a multitude of different dogs due to family, roommates, and friends. I love to go on walks and understand the stress it causes owners to be away from home so long without being able to take their pet out to use the bathroom/walk. I would love to help in that regard! I will have respect for your home and dog’s/your safety. I prefer instructions so I can meet all your requests! Obviously there is a lot of trust needed for this type of work and I want to make sure to respect that.

About: I’d love to spend some time with your pets this summer! Cats and dogs alike, I can drop by, stay with, and go on walks with your furry companions! I’m a recent college grad looking for some short term work for the summer before moving in August for my post-grad job. I’m available to drop in and walk your pets or spend a bit more time with them while you take a break! Happy to stay with your pets all night or just drop by for a walk mid-day! I’ll follow you and your pets lead on how far to go, how long to play, and what to do!
“Vanessa did a drop in visit for us in our home while we were gone all day. She great job providing a detailed Rover Card at the end of the drop-in visit! All went smooth and I have her to thank for making sure our pups were taken care of :)”

“Kaylee did an excellent job caring for my kitties, Hank and Abbey. She was very detailed and thorough in her updates, sent lots of pictures, and they were very well cared for in my absence. I would highly recommend Kaylee to anyone, and will definitely be booking with her again in the future!”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
