“I booked Sarah through Rover to check in on my pets while I was on vacation, and she was amazing! She visited daily, walked Yogi three times a day, and made sure Luna was happy and cared for. I loved getting picture updates, and she contacted me right away with any concerns. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing they were well cared for, which let me really enjoy my trip. Highly recommend!”

About: What sets me apart is the level of care and attention I give every dog. I’ve grown up around family pets and understand how important it is for dogs to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I treat every pet like they’re part of my own family. I’m available 24/7. I have 4 dogs at home and am willing to pet sit at any point of any day! I’m just getting started on rover and would love to get my name out there! I have hands-on experience caring for dogs through both personal and professional settings. I previously worked for a local groomer as a dog bather, where I became comfortable handling dogs of different breeds, sizes, and temperaments. In addition, I regularly care for my family’s dogs by feeding them, taking them on walks, spending time with them, and pet sitting when family members are away. I also help care for pets for extended family members, including my aunts and uncles, who trust me with their dogs while they travel or need extra help. I truly enjoy being around animals and am looking forward to expanding my services to help more pet owners feel confident their dogs are safe, cared for, and treated like family.

I have plenty of walking trails near my house so I am available to walk your dog. I will take care of your dog like it is my own and ensure the safety of your dog.

I love love love being a huge part of the pups/dogs training process as well. I have a Golden Retriever named Champ and he loves other dogs. Must have a dog who gets along with cats I have 1 cat her name is Izzy she's good with dogs. I am the right person to care for your dog because I love all animals. I would treat them like my own.
“Kaitlyn was an amazing pet sitter for our 120 pound great pyr/ GSD mix! While our dog can be a bit tough meeting new people, Kaitlyn dove right in and provided regular check ins, potty breaks, and playtime for our boy. Would highly recommend!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 10. I grew up with cats and because we were never allowed to have a dog, I would take care of dogs in the neighborhood. I would dog sit, walk them constantly, and would even bathe them. When I was little, I wanted to be a veterinarian. However the thought of having to put an animal to sleep, kept me from fulfilling that lifelong dream. With two Golden Retrievers of my own Duke 7 years old and Enzo 7 months old who I adore more than life itself, and a cat my life is full. Looking forward to adding more fluffy friends to my life, and maybe even adding some excitement to my dogs life by adding new friends. I currently work full-time, but the majority of my days at work are spent working from home, so my schedule is flexible. The more dogs the merrier ! I will do whatever is necessary to provide the best care when someone else’s baby is in my care. I know what I would want for my dog, so I would treat each animal that is in my care the same way I would treat my own dog with lots of love, treats, walks and playtime!
“Kate took great care of our cats and sent plenty of pictures. We also needed an extra day of watching them due to unforeseen circumstances and she was super flexible in helping us out.”

About: Dog owner since 1970. My property has TWO fenced in yards, one in front, and one in back, with a gate in between if needed. Dogs love me and I love them. ❤️ I have an older service dog as well, and am able to help train a dog if needed. I'm semi-retired, so it's rare that your dog would be left alone at all, but if you're dog enjoys being left alone, that's always an option as well. Communication is the key.... feeding times, special needs, etc. I have everything needed to pet sit. My property has TWO fenced in yards, one in front and one in back with a gate in between. My home has whole house ac and vinyl flooring. I have 3 dogs to keep your dog company, or those two seperate fenced yards if requested or needed. I also have crates for dogs that enjoy that den feeling.
“Amy was fantastic!! My whole family was heading out of town for a family wedding. I never had to have someone other than family watch my beloved "old man". Amy took great care of Marley. He wasn't at all stressed when I got home! I am sure I'll be booking Amy again! She even brought in my heavy Chewy box!! :)”

About: Although I do not currently have pets of my own, I have always loved animals and have been the go-to pet sitter for friends and colleagues since moving back to Pittsburgh in 2019. I have cared for dogs and cats of all sizes, ages, and personalities, from quick check-ins to longer stays. Because I work remotely, my schedule is flexible and I can provide consistent care, attention, and updates while you are away. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet and your home, so I try to be dependable, communicative, and attentive to each pet’s routine. Since I do not have pets of my own, I genuinely enjoy getting to care for other people’s pets like they are part of my extended family. I work remotely, so my schedule is flexible and I can provide pet care during the day, in the evenings, and on weekends depending on the booking. Because I can work from different locations, I’m able to spend quality time with pets during house sitting stays and provide consistent check-ins, feeding, walks, playtime, and updates. I’m happy to follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. I care for pets in their own home, where they can stay comfortable with their usual routine, space, food, toys, and schedule. I always follow owner instructions closely, including feeding, medication, walks, litter care, crate routines, and any house rules. I’m respectful of both your pet and your home, and I prioritize communication, safety, and calm, attentive care. I’ll also send updates so you know your pet is doing well while you’re away.
About: I have been surrounded by animals my entire life, having been born into a family with two dogs and two cats. For the past 15 years, I’ve been pet sitting on and off, even as a kid, when my friends were babysitting children, I always chose to pet sit! I truly believe every animal has their own unique personality, and I have never met a pet I didn't like. I even adopted my own animals while living abroad in Ghana, and while they can be a bit "evil" sometimes, I love them entirely! I know how to appreciate and care for pets with all kinds of quirks, boundaries, and temperaments. I have hands-on experience caring for cats and dogs at all stages of life, from energetic kittens and puppies to seniors needing gentle care. Drawing on my background in medical school, I am highly comfortable and capable when it comes to safely administering animal medications. Most importantly, I will strictly adhere to your pet's schedule, diet, and daily routine to ensure they feel safe and comfortable in my care. I have reliable transportation and a huge heart! Can’t wait to meet your fury family! Pet sitting is my main focus, giving me full-time flexibility and open availability to dedicate entirely to your pets. Because I have an open schedule, I can seamlessly adapt to your pet's exact daily rhythm, whether they need early morning walks, strict mid-day medication times, frequent potty breaks, or simply quality companionship throughout the day. Your routine is my routine. Integrity, trust, and clear communication are the foundation of how I care for your home and pets. My top priority is giving you complete peace of mind while ensuring your pet feels safe, comfortable, and deeply loved. I treat every home with utmost respect, leaving it spotless and exactly as found (or better, handling any senior pet accidents immediately and thoroughly). Experienced with walks, bathing, feeding, medication administration, potty breaks, and plenty of affection. I customize communication to your style, sending daily photo updates and detailed check-ins if you like to stay in the loop, or keeping it quiet and simply handling everything so you can fully disconnect.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Russellton
Meagan was great! We were flexible about times, but she always came when she said she was going to and gave detailed summaries after each visit. We could see her playing with Louie on the outdoor camera, and he looked like he really enjoyed her company. She took great care of our buddy while we were out of town and we couldn’t be happier!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
