About: I'm currently an animal control officer for the city with a life long passion for animals. I have a vast array of experience with all species with my primary focus being on dogs, cats and equines. I have 3+ years of experience working in a mixed animal veterinary practice of 7 doctors and have maintained relationships with those veterinarians and technicians which gives me experience caring for animals in a medical capacity. This makes things like caring for medically complex furry friends, geriatric pets & giving medications, including injectables a breeze. I have 10+ years caring for horses and other large animals both personally and professionally. I managed a horse boarding facility in OR for 3+ years and then proceeded to work under a well known trainer. My work is fairly flexible making potty breaks easy, although I do work 40 hours a week. I am more than willing to stay over and care for your pets as it they were my own. I take pride in keeping your pets safe while they are in my care! Their safety and comfort is my #1 priority when petsitting. I pay close attention to body language and how your pets are communicating with me using their own signals to make them as comfortable as possible. About: My background in animal care extends well beyond traditional pet sitting. I completed extensive veterinary technology education while working full-time in a large, multi-department veterinary hospital, gaining years of hands-on experience with animals ranging from healthy puppies and routine-care patients to senior, hospitalized, post-op, and medically complex dogs. My subsequent transition into “human” healthcare has further strengthened the attention to detail and standard of care that I bring to every animal entrusted to me. My veterinary experience provided a comprehensive foundation in safe animal handling, canine behavior/temperament recognition, medication administration, medical-condition awareness, post-op care, and the identification of subtle changes that may indicate pain, anxiety, or physical distress. I am comfortable recognizing changes in behavior and overall presentation that may warrant closer observation or communication with a pet-parent. I am comfortable caring for dogs across all ages, sizes, and levels of need, including puppies, senior dogs, animals requiring additional behavioral consideration, and pets with established medical or mobility needs. My experience includes oral and injectable medication administration, incision and wound care, mobility assistance, post-operative monitoring, and incontinence-related care. Whether providing a walk, drop-in visit, extended sitting, or boarding, I approach pet care with the same principles that have guided my professional healthcare experience: attentive observation, appropriate precautions, consistency, clear communication, and respect for individualized care requirements. My goal is not simply to supervise a pet while an owner is away, but to provide knowledgeable, responsible care while maintaining the routine, safety, and level of attention each individual animal requires. I recently completed my Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care and am currently preparing for my board examinations, which allows me a highly flexible schedule and the ability to be home much of the time. At present, I have considerable availability for walks, drop-in visits, boarding, and other pet-care needs, and I am able to adjust my study schedule around confirmed bookings. Once I begin working in the hospital, my anticipated schedule will consist of three scheduled shifts per week, leaving the remaining four days largely open and predictable for pet care. I do not have children or other routinely changing obligations that would interfere with confirmed bookings. Any known limitations to my availability will always be communicated in advance, and with clear communication regarding your pet’s schedule and needs, I am currently able to accommodate a wide range of scheduling requests. Safety and attentive supervision are priorities in our home. Between my husband and me, our dogs are never left home without one of us present, and I maintain that same standard of supervision for pets entrusted to my care. I would not leave a pet unattended while I am responsible for their care. We have a fully fenced backyard and maintain a clean, organized, and uncluttered home and outdoor environment. With a five-month-old puppy of our own, our home is consistently kept pet-safe, with unsafe or inappropriate items secured and inaccessible. I am also careful and deliberate when managing interactions between animals and never assume unfamiliar dogs can simply be left together unsupervised. Introductions, outdoor access, feeding, and shared spaces are appropriately supervised, with the safety and comfort of each individual pet remaining the priority. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I maintain the same standard of supervision, respect for their environment, and attention to safety.
About: Ever since I can remember Ive always been around dogs and cats and tons of other animals! I’ve grown up on farms and so I am so used to animals, it’s become my life! I have a ton of energy and love to give. I’ve watched tons of family members animals and always put them first! I can walk, exercise, feed and water the dogs if needed. I have volunteered at the humane society for a while so I learned a lot there too. With working full time and going to school my availability is mostly the weekends, BUT when I take time off of school that may change:) When I am at someone’s home and they are trusting me with their babies, I try to make sure to take the best steps to keep them safe. If they need a leash I can do that, if there are any safety issues told to me I will take them seriously. Safety #1 then FUN!

About: My name is Sophia! I am 27 and I have been around animals most of my life. I always try to understand any animal and pet. Making sure to get to their level and accommodate them in any way I can. I currently have one doggie, one cat, and a fish. They are all super sweet. I train my dog often at home and the public parks. She loves cats and other doggies. My cat keeps to herself and she will often follow us on walks with our doggie. We take walks daily around the neighborhood. I have a boyfriend who works later shifts, so pets won't be alone until 10am. We have a fenced back yard with a doggie door. My cat and dog let themselves out when they need to. My dog is kennel trained and usually is in her kennel when no one is home, but we leave her out when we aren't gone long. I make sure everyone has water in the morning and evening. We walk our dog around the neighborhood twice daily. One in the morning and one in the evening. I have fenced backyard. I have a doggie door for pets to come in and out. I can also close it off to control access outside. I always leash my dog when going on walks.

About: In addition to being a dog owner for 26 years, I have also worked with the Humane Society socializing dogs to humans and other dogs. One of my more noticeable cases was a dog who was not very outgoing. She was very shy. After all the work I put in, and a couple days, she was sitting in my lap in the world me to pet her, somethings no other volunteer had acheived. I have owned dogs all my life. I just had to say goodbye to my 18 year old chihuahua so I am very experienced in senior care. I’m very flexible any time, but after 5pm on weekdays or anytime on the weekends are when I will be free no matter what. I work 8-5 , but can work around my schedule to provide day walks or check in around noon Earning a dog’s trust is very important. I know to sit on the floor, allow them to walk up to me and offer a hand if they would like me to pet them. I love dogs so I play fetch, take them on walks, and give them unlimited pets

About: We had a family dog from the time I was a toddler. The first dog was a Doberman, then the next family dog was a Springer Spaniel. My family also volunteered as puppy raisers with Guide Dogs for the Blind and we raised 5 guide dog puppies. One flunked out of guide dog school and came back to live with us until she was 13. Later, I volunteered with Guiding Eyes for the Blind and helped puppy raisers with their new puppies, and weekly helped teach the classes from 12 weeks when the puppies first arrive to their puppy raiser homes, up to 18 months when they leave their puppy raisers the puppies get trained before they go back in for their formal under harness training for their blind person. All 9 years of work there we used positive reinforcement with the dogs and helped the puppy raisers. I also attended some classes with Guiding Eyes on dog body language. I also have my own rescue dog who I adopted during that time and he has had positive reinforcement training since I adopted him. I now assist owners with training or behavioral needs they may have for their dogs to make the owners and the dogs happier and more peaceful living. I also have added a list of other services, from boarding in my home, to house sitting in yours, dog walking, drop in visits, or daycare in my house. I am working from home and available basically all the time, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and over weekends as well. Days: M, T, W, T, F, S, S I don’t have kids or cats. Just me and my one 10 year old personal dog are in the house. I live in a condo and don’t have a backyard, but I have always walked my dog in the neighborhood and gone to hike at Lake Chabot which is only a 12 minute drive or at Oakland hills parks.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
