I follow each pet’s normal routine for feeding, potty breaks, play, and rest to help them feel at home. In My Client’s Home: I focus on keeping pets comfortable by maintaining their usual routine. I spend at least two hours per visit to provide quality time, including walks, play, feeding, potty breaks, and companionship. I always make sure pets feel safe, relaxed, and well cared for.

About: I have utmost respect (and lots of love!) for all animals. I truly view them as real friends and equals. With experience, I have also learned how to set and maintain good (and firm - when necessary) boundaries. Dogs have been trusted members of my family since I was a child. I have cared for senior rescue dogs; I have socialized puppies; I have taught reserved dogs new tricks; and I have taught stubborn dogs to sit and wait. I have admittedly less history with cats, but just as much respect and care for them as any other animal. I do currently have one close cat companion (we used to be roommates, and have been best buds ever since). As with all animals, I find that the respect and love I give to the pets I interact with is reciprocated - and often multiplied! As a person who is both adventurous and empathetic, I am generally very well attuned to the health and wellbeing of those around me, and I really enjoy taking dogs for walks almost as much as they do! I also like to play, and I can handle all kinds of doggy games. Big dogs welcome! I am an early riser - morning walks are my favorite! From day to day, I am generally very flexible; I work part-time as an independent handyman (furniture assembly, TV mounting, etc). I can make almost anytime work, as long as we can agree in advance. I have an educational background in psychology - paying attention to pets and watching for their cues helps keep them healthy and happy. I’ll be able to tell if something is an stress-reaction or “just that weird thing they do.” My current companion is my best boy, Teddie. I found him in the trash on the side of the road one day (true story!) and bringing him home was the best decision I’ve ever made. I currently have a flexible work schedule and work remotely on Mondays. I have full availability for Saturday and Sunday, so I can be the perfect sitter for your long weekend getaways! Each pet is unique in how they communicate. I pay careful attention to a pet’s cue or behavior to determine what they may need. By being observant, I can ensure that your pet is happy, safe, and well taken care of! Many pets that I have cared for needed medication or had special instructions for care. I am no stranger to potty accidents or stress reactions. I would be happy to care for your pet that may need a little extra patience or kindness. Unfortunately, due to my small apartment, I am unable to care for pets in my home.

“Brenda and Dwain were INCREDIBLE! We left for a week long trip and I was so nervous about making sure our babies were okay. From the start Brenda and Dwain were very present and attentive to the animals and wanted to make sure they followed their routine to a T. Our dogs eat homemade food and they stayed active with making their food through the week, as well as stayed consistent with their daily walks. One of our dogs was having a hot spot issue when we left, but they stayed on top of treating it with the medicine we left and when we got home his hot spot was almost completely gone! They sent updates and pictures multiple times a day which made me feel so much better! They even took the time to write little “stories” about the day which were so fun to read! We didn’t have to worry at all on our trip because we knew they were all well taken care of. When we got home, our house was clean and virtually untouched and all the animals were happy and healthy! I couldn’t recommend Brenda and Dwain enough! If you want a family that will treat your animals and your home like their own while you are away, book them!! Thank you guys so much!”
