“Dave and Daniel were wonderful with our Pomeranian Skyla. She’s animated and spirited, some might say a strong personality. She often, perhaps too often, wants her own way, but apparently Dave and Daniel were able to deal with this, and all parties seemed to have a great experience. What we do know for sure is that our little girl came home healthy and happy. What more can you ask for? We couldn’t be more pleased. We will definitely be bringing her back to her home away from home.”

“Another great stay! Our 9-month old golden retriever puppy developed so much confidence while staying with Jade. (He is generally a little nervous meeting new dogs.) But after an overnight stay at Jade’s house he walked right up to a new dog, wagged his tail, and said hello! We highly recommend Jade and her services. Excellent communication and happy dogs!”

About: Hi! I’m an educator who has always had a deep love and respect for nature and all living creatures. As a professional in education, patience, responsibility, structured care, and high attentiveness are built into everything I do. Animals have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have had a dog since I was 3 years old—she was my best friend and was by my side until she passed away at the age of 19. When I lived in Turkey, I had two dogs, and I brought both of my sweet girls with me when I moved to the USA. Sadly, they have both crossed the rainbow bridge and are now our little angels. ❤️ Today, our family includes two little dogs and one sweet cat. I have been caring for pets since elementary school and have always shared a special connection with them. Back in Turkey, I actively helped many people adopt dogs, including helping the school where I worked adopt a campus pet. I truly believe animals are family, and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and deeply loved is second nature to me. Why Choose Us for Your Pet? Constant Care & Attention: My husband works from home, and I work from home most of the time as well. This means there is almost always someone around to give your pets endless love, companionship, and attention. Professional Responsibility & Safety: With my educational background, strict adherence to feeding/walk routines, safety protocols, and individualized care come naturally to me. A Loving Home Away from Home: A friend encouraged us to try Rover, and we jumped at the opportunity simply because my husband and I both love animals so much. We treat every guest like our own family in a calm, welcoming, and stress-free environment. Peace of Mind: You will receive prompt responses, clear communication, and frequent photo/video updates so you always know your furry family member is happy and thriving. We can’t wait to welcome your sweet pet into our home! 🐶🐱✨ My husband works from home, and I work outside the home for a maximum of three half-days a week. The rest of the time, I’m home. I understand that every dog is different, and I adjust my approach based on each dog’s personality, needs, and comfort level. For example, I recently cared for a large-breed puppy who wasn’t used to playing with small dogs. To make sure everyone was comfortable and safe, I divided my home into separate areas so he could have his own space while my dogs had theirs. I also moved my workspace next to his area so I could spend more time with him throughout the day. Since he had a lot of puppy energy, I took him on walks more frequently than I normally would to help him get his energy out and keep him happy and relaxed. My goal is always to understand each pet individually and create a routine where they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for.
“We had Gemma watch our small dog for the second time now and feel lucky to have found her. She is very kind, flexible and caring. Zoey can be anxious with strangers sometimes but that doesn’t seem to be the case with Gemma and her family.”

“Jennifer is great with my girl, Rowan! Rowan is always comfortable in Jennifer's care and always happy to go back again. We're very grateful for the excellent care Jennifer takes of Rowan when we are away.”

“I left for ten days and this was only the second time I had left Stella with another family. It was such a great experience for her and me. Michael and I let the dogs meet ahead time and I felt very comfortable with both he and his dog. His entire family helped out and loved on Stella and it was a really positive experience. I would definitely use them again.”

“Kathrine is an AMAZING sitter! I went out of town for 5 days and left my pup with her at her home. I immediately felt comfortable leaving her there when I dropped her off. She sent pics, videos, and updated me on all things (eating, pooping, etc.). Her dog, Ophelia, was the sweetest companion and I could tell her and my dog were besties from the pics she sent! They went on multiple walks a day, and even a weekend adventure! I will definitely be using Kathrine again in the future!”

“Jordan is seriously a dog whisperer. His energy and confidence is God send. My dog Cedar can be reactive, barking, jumping, even nipping when meeting people but with Jordan, it was like a completely different dog. Calm, relaxed, and instantly comfortable. I was in total shock. Even around another dog (which normally worries me), Cedar was in dog heaven. No issues at all. I went in nervous and left totally at ease. THANK YOU Jordan for making my vacation that much better. If you’ve got a challenging dog, Jordan is your guy, Just go with Jordan.”

“Our dogs have stayed with Gayle twice now, and I can't imagine using anyone else! They're happy there, busy and well cared for. She shares lots of pictures and videos and you can tell she enjoys what she does!”

“Riley was great and my fur baby had a great time playing with her pups. She sent me pictures and updates on how my fur baby was doing. If I end up back in the area and needing dog care again I will be contacting her.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs(my own) and others since I was 10. Recently adopted a 3 year old Malinois mix who is a sweetie and really good with other dogs. Since then I have interacted with a bunch of dogs and learned a lot. Our Malinois is trained and loves all types of dogs. We have taught her some tricks so maybe I can teach your dog some too 😎. I’m currently not working so your dog would be my primary job. I can take them to parks, on hikes or whatever requests are given I deeply respect every individual pet and their specific needs. Whether it’s taking them to the park or taking a nice stroll on the neighborhood so they have enough time to smell every plant, I take great care in every aspect of your pet’s stay/care with me. I live in an apartment, with plentiful grassy areas and park nearby, but also don’t mind going to a client’s house. At the end of the day, I care for every pet the same way I care for my own, with compassionate care and safety at the core.
“Diana cared for our 16 yr dog for a week. She is an excellent communicator and professional. Her home has plenty of outdoor space for him to roam free. She sent regular updates and pictures. She also is a groomer. Our pup is afraid of anyone who tries to groom him and hates water. Despite these obstacles she managed to give him a nice trim. I highly recommend Diana and will certainly hire her again!”

“Excellent communication, the pups were well cared for, and we were kept informed during their time away from our family. Was so nice to see the space and know they were not just in a kennel and alone. Definitely worth it!”

About: I have years of experience caring for small and medium sized dogs and am the owner of two friendly pups, Minion, a 12 year old Lhasa Apso mix, and Gizmo, a 5 year old mini poodle. Because I focus exclusively on dogs under 40 pounds, I am highly familiar with the unique temperaments and safety needs of small and medium breeds. Working from home full time allows me to provide constant, dedicated supervision throughout the day, easily keeping up with your dog's specific feeding and bathroom schedules while keeping their anxiety low. Your dog will also have access to a fully fenced backyard, offering a completely secure space to get fresh air, stretch their legs, and enjoy supervised outdoor playtime with Minion and Gizmo without any risk of escaping. Whether your dog has high energy or is a calm companion who just wants to nap by my desk while I work, I provide a peaceful, attentive environment tailored to making them feel safe and right at home. Since I work from home full time, pet care is seamlessly integrated into my daily routine. My workday is structured around the dogs, meaning guest pets are never left unattended and receive constant companionship. Throughout the day, I take regular breaks to step away from my screen and supervise outdoor playtime in my fully fenced backyard. Your dog will join my own friendly pups, Minion, a 12 year old Lhasa Apso mix, and Gizmo, a 5 year old mini poodle, for a consistent schedule of morning feeds, afternoon backyard romps, and plenty of desk side company while I work. Because my schedule is highly flexible, I can easily adapt to your dog's specific feeding, bathroom, or exercise timelines without any disruption to my work week. Trust and safety are the foundation of how I operate, which is why I provide care exclusively in my own home where I can maintain total oversight. To guarantee a secure environment, I strictly enforce a 40 pound weight limit for all guests. This ensures everyone is evenly matched with my own friendly dogs, Minion, a 12 year old Lhasa Apso mix, and Gizmo, a 5 year old mini poodle, eliminating the safety risks and anxiety that come with mixing large and small breeds. Because I work from home full time, your dog will never be left unattended and will receive constant supervision. Outdoor time is restricted to a fully fenced backyard where I am always physically present to monitor play and bathroom breaks. I build trust with owners through transparent communication, regular photo updates, and precise adherence to your dog's established feeding and routine instructions, providing a predictable and protective environment where your pet can feel completely safe.
“Kristina was a wonderful sitter for our pup Raffle. She went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable, took him for long walks, and gave him the space to run outside! She gave him treats and even gave him a toy to take home. She sent pictures throughout the weekend so we never had to worry about how Raffle was doing. We would definitely book with Kristina again :)”

“Elizabeth took such great care of Percy while we were gone. We got lots of updates and great pictures. He had such a good time, we think he’s missing all of the space and puppy playmates. He came home happy and healthy.”

“Pakuna is honestly hands down the best sitter ever. This was my first time leaving my puppy for a couple of days and was very nervous about leaving my puppy but Pakuna reassured me that everything will be ok and that my pup would have a blast. Our pup loved being with her and her pitty. Highly recommend booking her!”

“I appreciate Larissa very much. I am very satisfied with Larissa’s services. Larissa is very communicative and shared updates about my pup, which I truly appreciated. I would definitely recommend.”

“We were so concerned about finding the right sitter for Jinx. Zuri was fantastic though! Jinx got to make some new furry friends, and Zuri sent so many videos and picture updates! By the end of the first night, I knew we had made a good choice! Thank you Zuri, for being such a good sitter for our big spoiled fur baby!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Rosedale home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Rosedale.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Rosedale sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
