“Dan and Dave took great care of our fur baby and she was healthy and happy when I picked her up. They provided a super clean and secure environment with care and affection for our pup. Will definitely be calling on them again.”

“I couldn’t be more happy with the care my puppy received from Jade!!! Jade was super friendly, super experienced and incredibly helpful from the moment we met. It’s clear Jade has a genuine love for dogs and my pup was in great hands! Through the day, Jade kept me updated with adorable photos and videos. It gave me such peace of mind knowing my pup was not only safe but having a great time meeting new pup friends. I would absolutely recommend Jade to anyone looking for caring, loving and reliable person to care for their pup!!! Thank you again sooo much Jade for everything!! 💙💙”

“Madison is great! She's watched my dog Winston a few times now and I always feel good leaving my baby behind with her. She takes him for walks, cuddles with him, and keeps me updated. I definitely recommend!”

“This was my first time using Rover or boarding my dog, so I was quite nervous. Miriam is great! My dog loved her and it is obvious she cares greatly about dogs. She communicates quickly and is easy to work with. Next time I go out of town, I will book my dog with Miriam!”

“We had Gemma watch our small dog for the second time now and feel lucky to have found her. She is very kind, flexible and caring. Zoey can be anxious with strangers sometimes but that doesn’t seem to be the case with Gemma and her family.”

“Thor was amazing with my cat while I was on a long vacation. Made sure he took his daily meds and I got regular photo updates! He was also very flexible and accommodating when I made a mistake in my booking and asked to a drop-off later in the day. I recommend Thor very highly.”

About: I have years of experience caring for small and medium sized dogs and am the owner of two friendly pups, Minion, a 12 year old Lhasa Apso mix, and Gizmo, a 5 year old mini poodle. Because I focus exclusively on dogs under 40 pounds, I am highly familiar with the unique temperaments and safety needs of small and medium breeds. Working from home full time allows me to provide constant, dedicated supervision throughout the day, easily keeping up with your dog's specific feeding and bathroom schedules while keeping their anxiety low. Your dog will also have access to a fully fenced backyard, offering a completely secure space to get fresh air, stretch their legs, and enjoy supervised outdoor playtime with Minion and Gizmo without any risk of escaping. Whether your dog has high energy or is a calm companion who just wants to nap by my desk while I work, I provide a peaceful, attentive environment tailored to making them feel safe and right at home. Since I work from home full time, pet care is seamlessly integrated into my daily routine. My workday is structured around the dogs, meaning guest pets are never left unattended and receive constant companionship. Throughout the day, I take regular breaks to step away from my screen and supervise outdoor playtime in my fully fenced backyard. Your dog will join my own friendly pups, Minion, a 12 year old Lhasa Apso mix, and Gizmo, a 5 year old mini poodle, for a consistent schedule of morning feeds, afternoon backyard romps, and plenty of desk side company while I work. Because my schedule is highly flexible, I can easily adapt to your dog's specific feeding, bathroom, or exercise timelines without any disruption to my work week. Trust and safety are the foundation of how I operate, which is why I provide care exclusively in my own home where I can maintain total oversight. To guarantee a secure environment, I strictly enforce a 40 pound weight limit for all guests. This ensures everyone is evenly matched with my own friendly dogs, Minion, a 12 year old Lhasa Apso mix, and Gizmo, a 5 year old mini poodle, eliminating the safety risks and anxiety that come with mixing large and small breeds. Because I work from home full time, your dog will never be left unattended and will receive constant supervision. Outdoor time is restricted to a fully fenced backyard where I am always physically present to monitor play and bathroom breaks. I build trust with owners through transparent communication, regular photo updates, and precise adherence to your dog's established feeding and routine instructions, providing a predictable and protective environment where your pet can feel completely safe.
“We met Gayle while searching for somewhere to board our dogs for two weeks. This past weekend we left them with her for a quick get-away and practice stay. I have never been happier. Gayle kept us up to date, sent pictures, answered all our concerns (one of our dogs is "special-needs"). We picked up two happy, healthy, tired dogs and we know they'll be in good hands with Gayle for future stays. Highly recommend!”

“They provided a visit for my dogs that was wonderful and the pups were well taken care of. They were flexible with me and truly would recommend them to anyone.”

About: I have always loved animals! I have grown up with dogs and cats in my house my whole life and cared for them. I have dog sat, taken dogs on walks, volunteered at shelters, etc! I have always loved animals and I am passionate about taking care of them. I am a licensed teacher getting my masters online, so I have lots of time to take care of pets on weekdays and weekends and am available most times! I have a medium sized house with a private room, another friendly small dog, and a great neighborhood to take dogs on walks and a small yard.
“Riley was great and my fur baby had a great time playing with her pups. She sent me pictures and updates on how my fur baby was doing. If I end up back in the area and needing dog care again I will be contacting her.”

I work Sunday- Wednesday morning shift, I can alway change a day to have weekend off or I can board after work Wednesday thru sunday I’ll treat the pet the same way if there were mine too. About: I worked at a pet boarding facility for a 7 years before I moved. I am a fast learner and choose to have the pet accept me before moving on to anything else. I shadowed groomers and vets to be sure the road I was taking would assure me happiness with animals and still plenty of time with my own animals. Working with the boarding facility I learned pets are different without there parents and can act differently around them so learning their likes and dislikes personally is a must for me. I want to make sure Pets and Parents are happy with me as help. I want both parties to feel safe, happy, and well rested when staying with me. I am currently working part-time with a flexible schedule. I would be able to come for an early morning and evening walk or adventure if needed. I have two dogs that are high energy. We often go to parks, take long walks, or swimming during hot days. I do have a kennel and a large vehicle for transport.

“Always the best. Speedy is so happy there. And it is life changing to know I have someone in an emergency with a medically fragile dog that I can emergently leave town and knownspeedy is safe and happy”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, and a few other animals all throughout my life. I had at least one pet in my home ever since I was 5! I can groom, bathe, walk, feed, and care for your pets needs. I am currently a college student and haven’t been around my own pets for a while, so I definitely miss playing with them. I have lots of free time, so I am very flexible and accommodating for all pet care! In my clients home, I’d be respectful of the space and tend only to their pets needs and follow all instructions. In my own home, I have a small apartment that would be perfect for small or medium sized pets to feel comfortable, with a nice grass park right across the street.
About: Neighbors, friends and family have relied on me to take care of their pets for nearly two decades. My attention to detail never goes unnoticed and I am confident in my abilities to comfort your pet(s) by making them feel special and safe! I have experience with all kinds of creatures — dogs, cats, reptiles, rodents/ferrets, fish, and waterfowl, at all stages of life. Yes, even your beloved seniors. I’m a parent/caregiver to a child with disabilities and while that does not affect my ability to care for animals, it can limit some of my time due to my child’s day-to-day needs, appointments, etc. I update my calendar accordingly to reflect my availability. With that said, most of our appointments are virtual or in-home and I am a stay at home mom so I still have plenty of time for pet care. I have a large fenced in yard for dogs and I am always nearby supervising. I allow pets on furniture and treat them just like my own when I’m watching pets in my home. Instructions regarding potty breaks, feeding, kennel time, medications, etc., are always followed if given.
“Rafael did a great job boarding and taking care of our dog while we were away. He was very easy to work with and always quick to respond to messages. It gave us a lot of peace of mind knowing our pup was in good hands, we'd definitely book with Rafael again in the future.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Modeville home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Modeville.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Modeville sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OR ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
