Within a couple of days, I could sense a deep shift in her energy—I knew the signs, and I knew she was declining. They arrived the next day, and she peacefully passed away the very next morning. Her parents were profoundly grateful; they couldn't imagine the heartbreak of not being there for her final moments. I once rescued a scrawny, struggling young cat named Boomer in a parking lot.
