“Jenny was kind, caring, punctual and a great communicator. She took wonderful care of our sweet puppy while we were away. Jenny also took great care of our home, even getting the mail I forgot to put on hold. Her communication by text both before and during our time away was speedy and she even included photos of our pup having fun. We look forward to Jenny caring for our pup the next time we are away.”

“Sara took care of our 2 dogs while my family was away for the weekend. She took great care of the dogs, sent pictures and left the house clean and just as we left it. She was attentive to the dogs and followed the routine we usually do with them. I would absolutely use her again”

“Jessica was great! She accepted our booking last minute and still made time to do a meet and greet prior to watching our dog. She was very communicative and prompt! Would definitely book her again!”

“First time using Rover and leaving my 10-week-old puppy, and Ava was absolutely fantastic. She sent pictures and videos throughout the day, and I could tell he was having so much fun. She kept him on his schedule and was clearly experienced with puppies. I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such great hands- will definitely be using Ava again!”

About: I’ve taken care of pets since I was little. I can really connect with them easily! It makes me happy that your pets are taken care of! Anytime, just let me know! I take time in my schedule to go to the gym as well, but that can be moved around if anything pops up! I have a fenced yard, so for my dogs I usually get toys out and play with them for a good bit. Maybe throw in some training treats for new skills. I can walk your pets, and learn what they love doing in your home! Even if that means cuddle time too!
“I had an excellent experience with Crystal as both a pet and house sitter. From the start, her communication was clear, timely, and reassuring—she kept me updated regularly and was always quick to respond to any questions. It made being away from home much less stressful. Crystal proved to be incredibly reliable, showing up exactly as scheduled and following all care instructions carefully. I could tell she took her responsibilities seriously, not only ensuring my pets were well cared for but also keeping the house in great condition. I highly recommend Crystal to anyone looking for a dependable and thoughtful pet and house sitter.”

“Matt was very professional & attentive. Followed our tips & instructions precisely. He was pleasant & went out of his way to assure our 12 year old sheppard felt loved and comfortable. I will use Matt in the future!”

About: I have over 45 years of experience caring for dogs of all ages as well as many other types of animals that have honored me with living with me over the years (cats, horses, gecko, Madagascar hissing cockroach, parrots, flying squirrel, rabbits). My original dream was to become a vet so I have a background interning with veterinarian, working multiple years in a grooming and boarding facility and had my own very successful animal care and sitting business as a teenager. I have great nail trimming skills as well! Animals are naturally drawn to me and sense my love and respect for them. I work remotely so am pretty flexible with schedules. I also have taken the pet CPR course! I work remotely from home so am flexible in what I can offer. I feed my own pets multiple times a day and am able to monitor what is consumed. I also live in a beautiful community near parks for nice walks. I have a fenced in yard and 2 friendly dogs who live next door who are always interested in playdates if desired. I work remotely so have flexibility in what I can offer clients. I do have a crate on premises if you do not have although I prefer (as do pets) for them to have their familiar one! There are friendly cats who live with me although I would likely gate off my kitchen / sunroom area where my office is so that I can supervise and ensure harmony with unknown pet if in my home.
About: Hello, my name is Danielle. I used work as a veterinary technician and I am looking to drop in pet sit and walk pets on my off time. I personally have 3 dogs and 4 cats so I am very much used to taking care of pets on a daily basis. I am also experienced in pet first aid and dog/cat CPR experienced. I can also watch small caged animals in my home. I have experience with some exotics and small 'pocket' pets. Please let me know if you have any questions! Thank you! In the mornings I make sure all of my pets are taken care of then after my kids are off to school I am available to come check in on your fur babies! I always make sure doors are shut and fences are secure for outside time. I always make sure leashes fit snuggly to reduce the risk of a leash slip.
About: I will spoil your pets as if they were my own! I have my own dog, Jovie. She is a 9 month old lab mix and very strong willed. She is also in training to become a service dog. I am used to taking care of big dogs, but have no problem with small ones as well. I will walk and do drop ins to make sure your four legged baby is well taken care of! Currently, I am available most days. Since I was little, animals have always been a big part of my life. From puppies to senior dogs and tiny hatchlings to full grown tortoises, every animal is just a baby and should be taken care of as such. In all my years pet sitting, never have I met a pet that didnt become a friend. I love walking my dog everyday, and multiple times a day. As a high energy breed, she very much thrives from multiple walks and one on one time with mom.
“Kerri did an amazing job with our dog who requires daily medication for seizures. She actively communicated with us during our trip with updates and pictures. She left our home in great condition, very neat and tidy. I would highly recommend her for any other family”

About: What sets me apart is the genuine compassionate care I bring to ensuring your pet feels completely safe, loved, and understood while you are away. I focus on creating a gentle, stress-free environment tailored entirely to your furry friends’ comforting daily routines. Beyond dogs and cats, I have specialized experience with the delicate needs of small animals like rabbits, and would be more than happy to care for pets of any size! I am a recent GW grad and I have a very flexible schedule. Aside from doing occasional tutoring sessions throughout the week, I am home for the majority of the day and have the time to dedicate myself to taking care of your furry friend! When caring for pets in their own space, my primary goal is to maintain their established routine exactly as they know it to minimize anxiety. When a pet stays with me, they are welcomed into a structured, highly supervised, and pet-safe environment designed to feel like a second home. I love all animals and want to make them feel safe in any environment!
“Hannah is an awesome pet sitter! She took great care of my pets while I was on vacation, which includes my dog, 2 cats, and my fish and plants. She is very kind and responsive, and I felt very comfortable having her stay with my babies. I can tell they were well taken care of while I was gone. I highly recommend Hannah as a pet sitter and will be using her again.”
“Kaila was amazing!! She took care of my German Shepherd while I was away for the weekend. She kept me updated the whole time and I’m so grateful she took such a good care of my baby!”

About: Hi there! I’m a recently graduated physician assistant (PA) awaiting my hospital start date so my availability is currently wide open and I’m eager to help care for your beloved pets however I can. My schedule is easily customizable. I’m most eager for drop ins and walks to fill up my day meaningfully, yet offer sitting and boarding as well. I’m happy to offer a complimentary meet & greet ahead of services to ensure that it’s a good fit for all. I’ve had family pets of all species and sizes ever since I was born, growing up in 4H/ with large animals so I know a thing or two about general animal care. My experiences are varied and have lent to an above average animal sense. I’ve cared for senior pets, pets with advanced medical needs and my own animals during post-op recovery. One unique perk is that my sister is a veterinarian of 15 years and offers me an additional wealth of knowledge. Many might consider me a helicopter pet parent, which I’m proud to claim. No unsupervised grass/ twig chomping or foreign body scares with me around! I own two senior dogs: Remi and Paisley. They love everyone and everything but are at the age where sleep is the ruler of their day. I’m joining Rover semi selfishly because they have less ability for adventures now, yet unselfishly as any boarding time that your pet spends with us means spoiled vacation time with grandma and grandpa for them. However, I’m happy to keep them around if you have a puppy who needs socializing/ wise knowledge gathering from their elders. I’m a recently graduated physician assistant awaiting my start date so my availability is currently wide open and I’m eager to help care for beloved pets however I can. My schedule is easily customizable. In my home/ in life, pets are considered cherished family members. I am attentive, interactive and just overall excited to meet some new furry pals. I can keep up with any personality from frantic ball chaser to subdued couch potato. I know that every pet is different just as any human is different and am happy to accommodate in whatever way makes all happy.
“Devon watched my dog for me over spring break recently while I traveled. It was a really positive experience and I came home to a happy puppy and well cared for house. My dog can take time to warm up to new people and Devon put in the extra effort to bond with him anyway. He also communicated really well and even sent daily pictures and few videos through the stay! I didn’t worry about my dog or house at all and it was nice to let the dog stay in his normal space rather then a kennel. I’ll definitely book in the future!”

FAQs for House Sitting - Rocky Ridge
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 1,452 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Rocky Ridge. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rocky Ridge walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rocky Ridge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rocky Ridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rocky Ridge. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
