5. Kimberly L.
“Kimberly was absolutely phenomenal and so kind! Our senior fur baby has a lot of extra needs, so we’ve always put date days aside to ensure we wouldn’t have to leave her home alone. From the first text interaction with Kimberly to meeting in person - we knew that we found someone we could trust! We got picture updates throughout the day, and each care instruction we provided was taken very serious. We will definitely be trusting Kimberly with our fur baby in the future. Thank you SO much!”

It is dog friendly & I have my baby w me... she has always traveled well.. but she is now older & she is having separation anxiety when I leave the room! She barks & wont stop! She is a tri color chihuahua ! I can't leave the room & I can't take her to the car show because of the heat! I have never left her .. a bit nervous about doing so.. but thought I would search for Dog Care in area! My story ends in a meet & greet that started a new friendship! Paula was so comforting and reassuring that I wanted to stay with her! I had never left Mia w anyone before! Paula sent me pictures & text about Mia, including one where Mia was a bed hog! I immediately fell in love w her and never worried about my fur baby being in trusting, loving, awesome hands! Thank you Paula for loving my baby!❤️”

About: Hi! I moved to Roanoke at the end of 2023 and just recently bought a home right past Garden City - I have just about an acre of land and am ready to host your dogs I am a lover of all dogs, but especially the big, stubborn ones! In August of 2022, I had to make the tough decision to put my soul dog down after a cancer diagnosis. That dog had my heart and left a gaping hole... The only thing that helped the grief of losing Ruger was helping other dogs that needed a home or a helping hand. Ruger was 110 pounds of pure muscle and she could be …difficult… at times. I learned to handle reactive dogs, how to avoid their triggers, and how to control big pups! Often times it seems a big stubborn dog often means they’re an intelligent dog and I like the challenge of breaking through their tough exteror. Ruger was the biggest teddy bear once you knew her. She did 4 cross country road trips with me and saw more of this country than most humans. A short 6 weeks after Ruger's passing, I saw a 10 month old Rottie at a local shelter and I knew the best way to honor Ruger was to help this dog. I met her and picked her up the next week - Maple was CRAZY! She has made so much progress and become such a good companion. She is extremely high energy, loves to play fetch, and gets along great with most dogs. Then came along Shadow. Shadow is a big ole doofus. He loves everyone and everything. He also loves a good game of fetch, but after a few laps, he's ready to lay at your side and take it all in. Finally, little ole Rowan. Rowan escaped his owner's car in Richmond and I found him, took him in, and returned him to his owner once I located her a few days later. Several weeks later, his owner called me and said she couldn't keep him so I took him in with the intention of finding him a new home. Turns out that home is with me. He LOVES his toys and a good belly rub, but he wasn't socialized much as a pup so we work a lot on making sure he is comfortable and happy as he's begun to learn the world since joining our pack. Given the number of dogs I have in house and their sheer size and power, I am EXTREMELY cautious about introducing them to new dogs. If your dog is to stay for boarding, I would ask that you bring them over for a meet and greet first so I can get to know them a bit. Depending on their personality, I will let you know if and which of my dogs could be a good fit for them to mingle with and am happy to introduce them during the meet and greet. If you are not comfortable with them mingling or I don't think their personalities would mesh, no worries. I have the means to keep everyone safe and separate while still getting plenty of love and attention each (it helps that I work from home!) I’m comfortable administering medications. I’m comfortable with shy dogs and taking the time for them to open up. I ask for as much detail as possible on your pets! What do they like? What do they not like? What is their breakfast/dinner/bedtime routine? Any allergies/treats to stay away from? Are they likely to eat nasty things they find on the ground? Should I pick up any soft/rope toys because they are like Rowan and like to swallow them whole? Give me alllll the details! If you have any questions, let me know! I am a true dog lover and would love to host your furbaby and ensure they have a safe, happy, fun place to stay while you are away. I work from home so I am pretty flexible. My own pets go out for play sessions multiple times during the work week - they are spoiled rotten! I can easily care for high energy dogs because I work from home. I have a large yard but it is not yet fenced. For quick potty breaks, I always keep the pups on leash. And then of course will walk them as well. In the home, they pretty much have free reign as long as they get along with my dogs - if they don't, I will rotate them in and out so everyone gets a fair share of time and attention. Happy to crate as needed, etc based on your preferences.

17. Gavin C.
“Gavin is absolutely wonderful with pets, I’ve seen him with all different types of animals from a large Great Pyrenees to a tiny bunny. He gives them the best possible care and loves all animals as his own!”
18. Lani O.
“While I was visiting family, I had Lani walk my two dogs and she did a wonderful job. I have one pup that is very skittish of people and Lani handled her with great patience and care.”
19. Holly W.
About: Ever since I can remember I've had dogs, cats, brids, ferrets, rats, hamsters, fish, snakes, you name it! I love animals and love watching them thrive in healthy, happy habitats! I am a stay at home mom and spend a lot of my time at home taking care of my children, house, and mini farm. Your dog can follow me around (on or off leash) while I'm in and out of the house or I can put them on a leash, let them burn off engery in the backyard (fenced-in) as long as they are not a chicken killer.
20. Karlee B.
About: I worked two years at a local boarding facility when i was 17. I’m constantly around animals, and strive to help when needed for them. I’m available at any time of the week. I’m extremely flexible, just let me know, and I’ll be there for you and your fur baby.🐾 My mom lives out in the country, so there’s lots of room to run around. We have a dog park down the road. My family is a huge animal lover, and your fur baby will constantly be given attention.
