Alexandra is incredibly kind and gentle. She was so patient with our Lani, who’s scared of just about everything, and really respected our request to keep greetings and goodbyes calm and low-key to help prevent separation anxiety. She takes her time, used the treats for getting boots on!) And gives Lani the full walk time without rushing. We feel very comfortable with her and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, attentive walker.

Irem, Walked my pup this week while he was recovering from neutering and she was wonderful. She took good care to keep him from over exerting himself and was patient with him.

About: What sets me apart is my background as a nurse and my lifelong experience caring for animals. I've been around pets since I was 4 years old and understand the importance of patience, consistency, and attention to detail. As a dog owner myself, I'm comfortable caring for puppies, active dogs, and senior pets. I'm reliable, safety-focused, and will treat your pet like family while providing updates and plenty of love and attention during every visit. Hi! I'm a nurse who loves spending my days off with animals. I've been caring for animals since I was 4 years old and have had dogs my entire life. Caring for others is a big part of who I am, and that extends to pets as well. I'm an early riser, enjoy routines, and understand how important consistency is for keeping pets happy and comfortable. I also love staying active through walking and working out, so I'm always happy to give dogs plenty of exercise, fresh air, and attention. Whether it's a leisurely neighborhood stroll or a more energetic walk, I'll make sure your pet gets the activity they need. My nursing schedule varies, which gives me flexibility and availability for drop-in visits throughout the week. Whether your pet needs a potty break, playtime, feeding, or just some extra love and attention while you're away, I'd be happy to help. I look forward to treating your pets like they're part of my own family! I will care for your pets as if they are my own. I'll keep them safe and fed in your house while making sure they get there exercise! I'm a huge walker!

Kacy was a life saver!! One week after I rescued a timid, anxious and fearful Beagle, I broke my wrist. Kacy responded and started immediately. Knowing Luke had issues didn’t bother her in the least. She obviously has a lot of experience with dogs and knew how to handle him. It was rough for her in the beginning but she was very patient and kind and never gave up on him. She was more than a dog walker; she sat in on sessions with a trainer I hired to help Luke. So her walks with him, were more than just walks. They were mini training sessions! And in the one month she was with us, Luke made so much progress all because of Kacy since I wasn’t able to do much. Kacy will treat your dog as her own, she is very responsible, punctual and never missed a walk. I am forever grateful for everything she did and she even went above and beyond cleaning up Luke’s accidents and carrying in packages for me! We will definitely miss her. If you need someone to care for your 4-legged family, she’s definitely the one!

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and caring for them has always been second nature to me. Over the years, I’ve also dog‑sat for friends and family giving me experience with different breeds, personalities and routines. Whether your pup loves long walks, belly rubs or just someone to keep them company, I’m here to make sure they feel safe, happy and loved while you’re away. Because I work from home, pet care naturally fits into my daily routine. I’m home throughout the day, which means plenty of time for walks, play breaks, feeding and keeping an eye on your pet’s comfort. I build my work schedule around their needs so they get consistent attention and companionship instead of long stretches alone. Whether it’s a midday walk, extra snuggles or sticking to their usual routine, I’m able to give them steady, reliable care all week long. I have a quiet, calm and pet‑friendly home that’s perfect for animals who enjoy a peaceful environment. Since I don’t have any pets of my own, your dog gets my full attention and a stress‑free space with no competition for affection. I keep my home clean, safe and comfortable and I have a deck where pets can relax outside, enjoy some fresh air and soak up the sun.

Amber has been great taking care of our large but nervous rescue pup, Teddy. She is clearly knowledgeable in how to work with dogs who are not immediately trusting and more reserved. Now Teddy really enjoys his weekly walks and getting to sit with Amber for some treats. I would continue to recommend her for any of your pet care needs.

Tyler has been walking my Golden, Max, for a couple months now and he is the only one I would trust with my Max! Max already knows when Tyler is on his way and waits for him looking out the window. Tyler is very friendly and gentle even with my older dog. Max always comes back tired from his walk, which is a great help to me! Thanks Tyler!

Any words of praise I leave for Giselle are nowhere near enough! She is reliable, responsive and flexible. She is so great with my dog - managing his energy, and getting him to cooperate. She is caring and kind, and really wants to connect with the pet and the pet parent. My dog always comes back from walks with her tired and ready for a long nap. He's so excited to see her every single time! I trust Giselle completely - she's even taken my dog out and had access to my house when I wasn't home. Highly recommend her.

  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
