“Brianna was wonderful from start to finish…from our meet up for a meet and greet to when we picked up Ranger today! Brianna sent us updates with pictures and videos and was very responsive during Rangers entire stay! She even kept him longer for us when we had an unfortunate mishap at the end of our vacation. Thank you so much Brianna for caring for our boy - we will definitely be in touch the next time we need a sitter!!”

“Beth was well prepared for our dog arrival and took good care of him. She also was very accommodating in drop off and pick up times. I would definitely book with Beth again.”

“I was very happy with the care and attention Tokyo received. The caregiver was very attentive, kind, and responsible. She kept me updated and patiently answered all of my questions, which gave me great peace of mind. You can tell she truly cares about animals and puts a lot of dedication into what she does. I would definitely trust her with Tokyo again. Thank you so much for everything! 🐾❤️”

“Channon was so great. We left our 75 lb Pyrenees mix with Channon for two nights. Channon's dog Bizzy was the perfect playmate for our pup! She did a great job caring for him, sharing any concerns she had, and sending a video or two. We could tell that our pup was having a great time and felt very comfortable. Thank you Channon!!”

“Holly was an amazing host. Our 10 month old doodle was well cared for and happy. Holly shared daily updates and was always available whenever I texted. I really appreciate Holly's whole family for taking such great care of Gus.”

“Heather was a fantastic sitter for my girl, Fern. There was great communication, lots of updates, and great care and attention was given. I highly recommend Heather!”

“Charley had a blast with Maribel and I can tell how much he was cared for by her. She sent photo updates every day and he looked so happy! He came home one tired boy. We will be reaching out again next time we need a sitter for him. Thank you so so much!”

“Gina took wonderful care of my two standard schnauzer pups. They are nine months old and still have enough puppy in them to be a handful. She loved on my dogs, took them with her outside on walks and while working in the yard, sent me picture and video updates. I don't worry about my dogs in the least bit when they are with Gina. She will take excellent care of your dogs while she has them in her care. She's my #1 option for pet care. I highly recommend!”

About: My family had two aging beagles I helped care for that eventually passed away. They both required much attention and medication. Any time my family members or friends need someone to watch their dog, they ask me. I have experience working with smaller sized dogs and much bigger dogs. I have also worked at a humane society. I just graduated from grad school so I will have plenty of time to care for your fur babies and will make sure they are happy and healthy! I will make sure they go to the bathroom regularly, make sure they get plenty of exercise/walks, make sure they are well fed, and make sure they are overall safe and comfortable. It is my job to make sure your fur baby is happy! If using boarding services, my apartment complex is very pet friendly and has a great dog park!
“I cannot say enough positive things about Jane! She took exceptional care of Kylie, kept in touch with us throughout Kylie's stay by sending pictures and videos AND she even celebrated Kylie's birthday with special treats in our absence. Jane, you are a Godsend! We hope you allow Kylie to stay with you again!”

“Simone was great! My schedule was all over the place and she was so understanding and flexible. She treated my pup like her own. I would absolutely trust Simone to watch my dog again. We had a great experience.”
“I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for Rambo! She took amazing care of him over the weekend and made the whole experience completely stress free. She kept me updated with pictures/ videos throughout his stay, which gave me so much peace of mind and showed how happy and well cared for he was. It was obvious that she genuinely cared about Rambo and treated him like one of her own. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and attentive dog sitter. Thank you for taking such great care of my boy!😊”

“We are so happy that we had Amy watch Sadie! She sent constant updates and we were never worried about her for one second. It was clear through the pictures and videos that Sadie was very comfortable and felt right at home. She was happy (and tired!) when we picked her up, which says it all. Amy truly cared for her like she was her own. Sadie can be a little quirky and needy, but Amy handled it all so well. We’ll absolutely be booking with her again for sitting and walks!”

“Kelsey took great care of Murphy & I especially appreciated her flexibility to keep him an extra night when my flight landed in Raleigh instead of Roanoke. I enthusiastically recommend her.”

“Meghan is the best, period!!! Her and her family great people and our dog loves spending the night(s) with them. I couldn't be more pleased and I really hate boarding my dog when Meghan's not available!! Thanks Meghan!!”

“Kiara C. did an amazing job boarding my golden, it even included going through a hurricane ? together!!! She provided updates and pictures so I knew he was happy and well cared for ❤️. They bonded and I will definitely use Kiara's services again! 5 Stars and highly recommend!!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Richmond Hill home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Richmond Hill.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Richmond Hill sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
