“This was our first pet sitting experience with Amy - she house sat our two pups for 8 days and did an amazing job. Detailed breakdown below: - Communication: We've booked multiple sitters through Rover during various family trips and have a good amount of experience being able to compare several pet sitters. When Amy came to the meet & greet she asked so many detailed questions and took copious notes to ensure she had everything covered. She had a very caring demeanor and our pups liked her right away. Prior to the scheduled pet sitting, we had multiple exchanges over messaging and she was always extremely prompt to respond & provided super thorough responses/details. She was great at communicating during our trip and kept us in the loop on everything going on. She also provided fantastic detailed wrap-up notes to let us know about anything she had observed and things for us to be aware of. We definitely appreciated her communication style as some pet sitters have not always been the most reliable when providing updates or responding to our questions. -During the Stay: We had an incident that occurred with one of our dogs during the booking where our pup ingested something toxic, started throwing up continuously along with shaking. Amy was extremely proactive in reaching out to our main vet multiple times, giving us a full breakdown of the situation with constant updates, reaching out to a second vet on our list for a second opinion, and then taking our dog to animal emergency hospital for treatment & overnight stay. During all this time she constantly kept communication going with us and the emergency clinic. It was a very stressful situation for us as we were out of the country & far away from our where we felt helpless while this was happening. However, Amy did everything in her power to make us feel so much more at ease with how diligently she handled the situation while providing constant monitoring, compassionate care, & attention to our dog during the situation as well as for the remainder of her house sitting that week. Besides, taking care of our pups, Amy also offered and took care of a few things for us including watering our plants, brining in packages, and also proactively doing a load of laundry to wash our towels. She also offered to wash the bedding on the guest bed but we let her know that we appreciated it and didn't want her to do additional extra work. Overall, this was one of the best experiences we have had with a pet sitter. We would definitely book Amy for pet sitting in the future and would highly recommend her! Thank you for taking such great care of our pups! We are grateful for all of your hard work, loving care, take-charge approach in handling an emergency situation, great transparent communication, and true attention to detail! About: Everyone knows me as the dog-obsessed friend. I've never met a dog I didn't have a connection with. Dogs seem to sense that something is different about me and that I'm the one to go to for extra love and pets. I have particular experience with and compassion for senior dogs. My husband and I rescued an 8 year old black Lhasa Apso in Chicago and got to spend 4 wonderful years making sure her remaining time was filled with love and happiness. That experience opened our hearts and minds to just how special a relationship with an older dog can be, and is what inspired us to open our home to fostering animals. When I'm not fostering or dog sitting, I'm playing with my neph-pups, seeing what the neighborhood dogs are up to, or watching funny dog videos online. I work from home full time as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer. I am able to set my own schedule allowing me the flexibility to be available for all your pet's needs. Our home has a spacious fenced-in backyard for lots of running (plus some daring squirrels and rabbits around that seem to want to be chased). We have an adjustable crate for varying sized fur babies that I line with comfy blankets and padding. We keep the crate in our guest room with a noise machine and overhead fan so they feel comfortable and safe. For dogs who are used to sleeping in a bed, we forego the crate and just let a pup snooze right on the guest bed. If it's your home, I follow your instructions to make sure your pet is as comfortable and happy as if you were still there. I'm also a big photo taker! I will provide pup-dates multiple times a day until you tell me to stop.

About: I have nine years of pet care experience. I raised and showed Rex rabbits for 4 years. Personally I have trained and care for my own dogs. After High School I work in an Animal Hospital. My duties there included receiving the animals for appointments, prepping and assisting in surgeries, keeping accurate records, cleaning and sanitation of the facilities. I am available to care for pets full time as I am looking to make a career out of caring for pets as I pursue a position as a Veterinary Assistant or Technician. I would be able to care for the animals in their own homes keeping them safe in the comfort of their own space and environment.

About: Hi, welcome! My name is Grace and I would be honored to care for your beloved pet while you are away! I’ve had plenty of experience with dogs, cats, and bunnies. Most notably, I’ve been a consistent caretaker for two energetic black labs for the past 8 years. I’ve also cared for fish, turtles, hamsters, guinea pigs, and a bearded dragon. If you think I’d be a good fit for your furry (or scaly!) family please reach out! Since I have a full time job, I’m able to provide care anytime in the evenings and on weekends, and if your pet is able to do longer stretches alone in the home I would be a great fit for you! I work 7:30-4 Monday-Friday in Urbandale (if you’re close to that area I am more than willing to spend my lunch breaks with your pet). Once I’m back from work for the day I am ready to play! Coming home to an animal friend is one of the best feelings, and I want to give your pet all the love possible! I feel very comfortable being away from home. I love getting to help families keep their animal loved ones in a place they are familiar with. Whether you have a fenced in yard or no yard at all, I always get play time in every day. About: I grew up with animals and as an adult i have had cats and dogs my whole life. I have also enjoyed caring for friends and family pets when needed. I have volunteered at the ARL and received some training. I have an open schedule with lots of flexibility that allows for plenty of time to take care of or hang out with my furrbabies. I prefer to keep dogs leashed when a fence is not available. My cat stays indoors. I treat my pets as my children. For outdoor cats, it depends on the owner. I have seen GPS used to keep track of their location outside.

About: I grew up taking care of dogs on our family farm. I was responsible for feeding, watering, cleaning, and spending time with them each day. I also grew up with a cat in the home. I love animals and enjoy taking dogs on walks. Besides my school schedule, I am very free. I have my own car and I live on campus. I am available in morning and evening and in between classes. I work mostly on the weekends. I am most available to spend the most time with your pet during the week. I have school but no more than 4 hours a day. I’m also good about keeping a consistent routine and making sure pets get the attention, exercise, and care they need throughout the day.
