We had a great experience with our dog sitter! They stopped by for a drop-in potty break for our three dogs — Beamer, Jax, and Beau — and took great care of them. It gave us a lot of peace of mind knowing someone reliable was checking on them while we were away

About: I have had animals my entire life that I have taken care of and loved. I had to leave my fur babies back home for school, so I wanted another way to see some other fur babies. I am a full time college student, with classes earlier in the day, so I will be free most afternoons and early in the mornings. I will follow the normal routine of your animals within your home, and meet all their needs. I will also offer some extra love and playtime for your precious animals.

We couldn’t have asked for anyone better than Tenashia to care for our kittens and puppies! Her communication was top-notch from start to finish, always keeping us updated and at ease. You can tell she genuinely loves animals and treats them like her own. It’s such a relief to have someone we trust so much—thank you, Tenashia, for taking such wonderful care of our babies!

About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats for most of my life and have experience with pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities. Growing up around animals and pet sitting for friends and family from a young age gave me a strong foundation in providing safe, reliable, and loving care. I have experience caring for puppies, senior pets, and everything in between, including feeding, walking, administering medications, and providing companionship while owners are away. I understand that every pet has unique needs and routines, and I take pride in following instructions carefully to help pets feel comfortable and secure. As the owner of a reactive and anxious Labradoodle and a strong-willed Golden Retriever mix, I have firsthand experience working with dogs that require extra patience, awareness, and positive reinforcement. I’m familiar with clicker training techniques, leash reactivity management, and creating calm, positive experiences during walks and visits. Whether your pet needs exercise, attention, medication, or simply a friendly face while you’re away, I’ll treat them with the same care and respect I give my own pets. I’m currently working part-time so I’ll have time for early morning or evening drop-ins during the week and open availability on weekends. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being are always my top priorities. I understand the importance of following routines, administering medications correctly, and recognizing signs of stress or discomfort. As the owner of an anxious, reactive dog, I’m experienced in handling pets who need extra patience and attention. I will treat your pets and home with the same care and respect I give my own, and I’ll keep you updated throughout every visit for added peace of mind.

I made a last minute ( the night before) 3 day dropin booking in a city we were visiting for our 4 mo old schnauzers who needed a mid day potty break. Amanda was prompt with text responses, took on the job and sent us photo updates. It was a great relief for us. There were two other adult dogs in the house who were good for the full day and she took them out also even though we didn't ask for it. This extra service was greatly appreciated also.

Olivia has done multiple drop in visits for me and my dogs while we are in town for hurricane relief work. We currently stay in a hotel about an hour away from work and work from the early morning till evening time. Olivia’s drop in visits has given us peace of mind knowing our dogs get to go potty, get a drink of water, and have a treat when she gets there in the middle of the day. We are so thankful we found a sitter that has been understanding, responsive, and flexible throughout the whole process. We are just sad we will be moving on to a different city soon and will have to find a different sitter. Thank you Olivia for all you have done for us!

About: I have over 10 years of experience caring for dogs and other animals. While I was stationed at Fort Polk, many of my fellow Soldiers would go on leave, travel home for the holidays, or be away for training. Since I stayed in Louisiana and did not travel because I purchased my home here, I was often happy to help by caring for their pets. I would feed them, take them on walks, play with them, exercise them, make sure they had fresh water, and give them plenty of attention until their owners returned. I have experience with dogs of different sizes, breeds, and energy levels, and I understand that every pet has its own personality and routine. I am CPR certified, physically fit, dependable, and treat every animal like family. I have a spacious home where pets have room to relax and feel comfortable, and I will always make sure they receive the care, exercise, and affection they deserve. My goal is to provide a safe, loving environment so you can have peace of mind while you are away. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide dependable pet care throughout the week. As a 1099 contractor, my hours vary, which gives me the ability to work around your pet’s needs. Whether your pet needs a morning walk, midday check-in, evening care, or overnight attention, I will do my best to accommodate your schedule. I understand how important consistency is, and I am committed to making sure your pet feels comfortable, loved, and well cared for while you are away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I provide a clean, calm, and loving environment where every pet is treated like family. I am CPR certified and have experience caring for both dogs and cats of all ages and personalities. My wife and I have rescued stray cats and cared for numerous animals over the years, so we understand the patience and attention every pet deserves. I carefully follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, exercise routines, and any special requests you have. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is safe, happy, and receiving excellent care.

About: I provide top of the line animal care for all domesticated pets. I'm most comfortable with dogs and cats, but there isn't anything I can't handle. I have pet sat for many different families for about 6 years. I love giving endless affection to each pet and love to exercise with them. It is very important to me to know the routine for each client and try to make this experience as comfortable as possible. I used to run a dog care facility, The Dog Stop, which includes boarding, daycare, and grooming. I'm properly trained in this field of work. I have worked in the veterinary medicine field going on 6 years now as a veterinary nurse. I am trained in both a general practice setting and emergency room care for pets as well. I attended both SLCC and UL in Louisiana to pursue my degree in Animal Science. I personally own a 7 year old black male house cat named Xander, and two young and very loving female mixed breed dogs! I am currently working full-time as a veterinary nurse at Urgent Veterinary Care in Austin, TX. I have also worked at PAZ veterinary clinic in Austin, TX as a veterinary nurse. I started off my veterinary technician career in Lafayette, LA at Lafayette Veterinary Care Center over 4 years ago. I am always looking for ways to spend more time doing what I love which is caring for fur-babies! I will cater to any and all needs necessary for each individual client. A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Rayne stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
