“Jamie was so wonderful to my dog, Roo! She was attentive and stayed with her even longer than expected to make sure Roo was comfortable and settled. She sent regular updates and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Roo clearly loved her, and I would absolutely book with Jamie again and recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable sitter!”

“Regan is amazing! Our meet and greet went great but during the visit my dog was nervous, barking and keeping his distance. Regan took the time to make him feel comfortable and now he loves when Regan visits! I appreciate Regan so much. I'll definitely be booking again.”

“Stevie was great with my pets and administered medications provided when needed for my senior. I would give 5 stars but unfortunately people who were not verified through the rover app were brought onto my property by the sitter during the job and I was not notified. Only reason I knew was due to property camera footage. Dog care was overall great.”

“Lacole was amazing with our doggo! She was amazing with communication, always there when she said she would be and be super engaged with our dog! 10 out 10 definitely recommend! She we be the first person we think of if we have to go on a trip again :)”

“Angie was awesome with our fur babies. On time very informative about what's going on with her visit. Paying attention to both while outside. We enjoyed the pictures she sent an was set at ease seeing they were happy in her care. Will be definitely use her again.”

“Ana took such great care of my fur babies! She was very attentive, thoughtful, and truly went above and beyond. She also helped correct some of their leash behaviors, which I really appreciate. She kept me updated during each visit and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. I would absolutely book her again!”

About: I got my dog when I was 13 (I’m now 22). I trained him by myself when he was a puppy, and everyone he meets says he’s very well behaved. I know how to spot signs of anxiety or distress in dogs and how to respond to that behavior. I’m patient and loving, but I can be stern when need be. I am a student in college, and I work part time at an assisted living facility. Other than the days I’m at work, I’m basically free! I’ll make sure to locate the resources needed to care for your dog (crate, locks, toys, food, leash, harness, etc) as soon as I get to your home. I’ll spend 100% of my time in the company of your dog- they wouldn’t leave my sight. I’ll make sure to follow any guidelines about what your dog should/should not do. I’ll do my best to make the experience as comfortable as possible for them and you!
“Ally was so great to work with and our dogs loved her. She was great at communicating and I knew the dogs were being well taken care of. We will definitely be using her again in the future!”

About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember, and I’ve spent my whole life caring for them. Being the primary caregiver for my own family pets has given me a deep understanding of their needs, personalities, and behaviors. Over the years I’ve raised and cared for dozens of animals, including abandoned kittens that I bottle‑fed from a few days old. These experiences taught me patience, problem‑solving, and how to stay calm and capable in all kinds of situations. I’ve also provided pet care for family friends, neighbors, and coworkers, giving me hands‑on experience with many different breeds, ages, and temperaments. Caring for animals is something I genuinely love, and I treat every pet like they’re my own. My goal is always to make them feel safe, understood, and comfortable while you’re away. I currently work part‑time on weekends while attending college full‑time throughout the week, which gives me plenty of flexibility in my schedule. I’m available for morning, afternoon, and evening visits, and I can easily adjust my routine to make sure your pets get the care, attention, and consistency they need. I’m reliable, communicative, and always make pet care a priority. I live on 6+ acres with plenty of space for dogs to explore and enjoy, but my yard is not fenced, so all outdoor time is always supervised for safety. I have a friendly Great Pyrenees named Lily and a cat named Willow, who I bottle‑fed and raised from a kitten. They’re both very sweet, but I can keep my pets completely separate from yours if needed to make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable. Your pet’s safety is always my top priority. I pay close attention to their behavior, keep a controlled environment, and follow any routines or rules you prefer. You can trust that your pet will be cared for with caution, love, and respect.
“George was very communicative and great with updates every visit he made. The dogs loved him and did everything we asked to take care of our dogs. He will be our first to go to the next time we need someone to take care of our 2 dogs.”

About: As a dedicated pet caregiver, I treat every pet like they’re part of my own family. I understand that leaving your furry friend with someone else requires trust, which is why I focus on providing reliable care, plenty of attention, and regular updates for peace of mind. What sets me apart is my genuine love for animals and my commitment to making each pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Whether it’s playtime, walks, cuddles, or sticking to their routine, I’ll make sure your pet receives personalized care every step of the way. I also have no problems with commuting as I have my own car, so distance isn’t an issue for me. Right now I’m working freelance for myself so my schedule is open caring for your fur baby. I’m up for discussing a personalized regular walk or sit schedule as well! Right now I’m moving from an apartment back into a home (I’ll be done with that moving process by mid July) with adequate yard space to run around for exercise. I would make sure they would get plenty of outside and play time before bedtime with adequate potty breaks as well. For pet sitting in your home; I’d take on care as closely as I could to how you do things on the regular!

- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
