The Canine GuruAllston-Brighton, Allston, MA

Welcome to the Premier Dog boarding service in New England!

Looking for something special for your pup? Want them to have a vacation while you're away? No longer do you have to worry about students or part time sitters "watching" your pet, wondering if they've been left alone for long, or if they're having a good time. Our VIP service includes pickup, dropoff, full time supervision from the best in the business, and more! We have 7 acres of property, including a fenced yard area, a large shallow pond, hiking trails, and more, all in a secluded pup paradise out in the woods! No dangerous streets, cars, or gang-leash intersection crossings! We are experienced in dealing with groups of dogs, the company they love most. At my house, play time is all the time (except for nap time, which is well cherished). Let your dog to have a blast while you do; let them board with the Canine Guru!

I've got years of experience in dog training. Your lovely pet will have the time of their life. We are absolutely reliable and able to handle crises with the ease that only comes with repeatedly dealing with crisis. Through the entirety of my childhood, dog sitting was a mainstay in my life. I have also owned and raised my own dogs, including an 80 lb lab and my current 10 lb chihuahua/schnauzer mix. I know dogs as well as anyone, how they think, when they're upset, and what makes them happy, when they're being bothered or when they want to be a bother. You will not be disappointed with giving your pup the opportunity to vacation with us, and, big or small, I am sure your pup will be tired and happy when you pick them up!

We tend to board a few dogs at a time. We are very familiar with socializing, and they enjoy playing with each other more than anything. They are monitored very closely the entire duration of the stay to ensure everyone is safe and having a good time. My house is set up so that my 10 lb chihuahua/schnauzer mix has plenty of areas of her own, so don't fear for smaller pups (besides, the bigger guys are usually scared of them)! Rules and boundaries for each other are established with support from me, and are respected for the duration of the stay. Dogs are very capable of getting along in groups and tend to suffer less of an impact from owners absence, including separation anxiety, loss of appetite, and other similar issues, so they actually have a good time while you're gone instead of just missing you for days!

* We enjoy long stays! If you need someone to watch your pup for weeks or months, let them live with us; I'm used to having pups for long periods of time, and happy to have them! We had several clients dogs through times of housing issues, medical problems, family emergencies, and more. The pups have a great time and you'll never be left hanging, as we are available through every holiday year round! Let them become part of the family!

*** FREE pick up and drop off's will generally occur between 6-9pm in the greater Boston area. Therefore, if you are leaving for your trip before 6pm, you must prepare to book for the night before. ***

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! I'm always available and generally respond within a few minutes. There are no bad questions!

Pups > PeopleQuincy, MA

My name is Molly. I am an avid dog lover and have two wonderful dogs with my husband Ethan. Our pups are both hound/terrier mutts named Misa and Lyla. Ethan’s full time job is staying at home and taking care of the pups, and I am a Boston Public Schools teacher who is home in the afternoon. We know how important it is to have peace of mind while away from your pets therefore they will never be unsupervised while in our care. Ethan and I, and even our two dogs, all work together to ensure each animal gets all the love and attention they deserve while boarding with us!

I have always been happier when I'm surrounded by animals. I grew up with a dog and an escape artist hamster. Ethan grew up with dogs, cats, horses, chickens, and bunnies. In college I worked in a grooming salon and that was when I realized how much I loved taking care of animals.

Ethan and I have done an extensive amount of dog training for both of our pups since they are very fearful and anxious around new humans. We have worked on obedience, agility, nosework, and plain old tricks. All of the skills we have learned during their training has taught us so much about keeping dogs safe and happy, both physically and mentally.

We believe that a tired pup is always happier and better behaved. Therefore walks and structured socialization are always incorporated into any stay (as long as that is okay with your pup)! We spend a lot of time outdoors in our fenced in back yard. We recently changed our yard from grass to pet safe artificial turf, it makes less muddy paws for us and a better smelling pup for you! We also live near lots of dog friendly parks and beaches. Your pup will be sure to leave us extremely happy and exhausted!

*Gratuities are greatly appreciated! They help us provide even more amentities for all of our furry visitors!*

TLC for your pets while you're awayEast Boston, east boston, MA

I am the ultimate animal lover! I rescued my first pup from Brazil when I was just 16, and since then have rescued three more pups and one kitten. Currently I have two pittie mixes. Bailey and Moose who are both 2.5 years old. They are both loveable marshmallows and love meeting new pups and people.

I have experience carrying for pups and cats of all ages and sizes (even having to bottle feed one of my first!). I have also cared for bunnies, chinchillas, hamsters, and turtles :). My dream is to eventually make my passion for taking care of animals into my full time job. But for now, Rover is a great start!

I am extremely reliable, and will care for your pets as if they were my own. You will never have to worry about whether you are leaving your furbaby in good hands.

I look forward to meeting you and your wonderful pets! Feel free to reach out to me with any questions :)

Let's have a playdate! /Home FTEast Boston, East Boston, MA

We’re Loba’s Petcare, your friendly neighborhood pet sitters. Our full time job is helping you care for your pup while you take care of business. We like to establish a genuine connection with our clients and owners in order to match your at home training and care. We run weekday doggy daycare and walks along with daily boarding and drop-ins (including cats and rabbits).

A bit of background: I was born and raised in the Boston area and studied pre-vet at MCPHS University for about 3 years while working as a receptionist and shadowing at a local animal hospital for the later 2 years. While working at the vet I was introduced to the world of pet sitting and fell in love immediately. I got Violet(CEO) then began working for Rover when she turned 6 months and completed her vaccines. A few months later, my fiance joined and is currently lead walker.

We've been on Rover for 2 years and helped with everything from consistent/vacation services, to co-parenting and even parenting for longer stays. We have worked with different tempered dogs, from very-friendly to fear aggressive and always stick to your diet/feeding schedule. Basic training is enforced but we also stick to your at home training and can work on socialization with other dogs and people.

On a daily basis, your dog will be joining Violet’s general schedule, we typically go out 3-4 times, we have a fenced- in yard for roaming and outdoor play time (Larger, higher energy, or anxious dogs will get extra walks if it helps them get comfortable or they need extra exercise to calm down). We also have lots of toys to keep pups busy and recently bought some canine enrichment puzzles for the higher energy pups and we’re having fun watching them learn.

We have supported a few frequent travelers, along with traveling entrepreneurs. We’re located minutes away from the airport for easy drop-off and offer flexible pick-up/drop-off times, however we need strong communication for flexible scheduling or consistent scheduling so that we can plan our daily lives in advance. While we are home, just about 24/7, we will occasionally go out when boarding dogs are ok to be left home.

We've watched a ton of breeds and made lots of puppy friends, join our pack! :)

Your Dog Is My Best Friend!Avon, MA

First of all, I am a dog lover and dogs have always been my best friend. I have owned dogs my whole life. When I was a kid I was the neighborhood dog sitter. Since then I have taken care of other people's dogs either in the daytime or on trips hundreds of times. I have boarded dogs for weeks at a time many times. The only times I haven't owned a dog is when my schedule and work made it impossible to give a dog the time and attention it deserves.

Currently I work from home and make my own schedule and I am at home almost all the time. I have a 55 pound very athletic dog who is very non-aggressive and gets along great with other friendly, fun loving dogs. Some dogs like a lot of human and/or dog interaction and some dogs are content to do their own thing. I have never met a healthy dog who didn't need exercise and the mental stimulation that comes with satisfying their curiosity.

My home is very dog friendly with a half acre fenced back yard set back from the road with woods behind that. My yard is about 80% grass and 20% wooded so their is plenty of room to exercise if your dog likes to run or play and also plenty to explore if your dog is curious. All dogs are free to roam my house and backyard and there is access to my yard through my back deck.

During your dog's stay I promise I will treat your dog with the utmost care and affection and respect as if your dog were my own and do my best to create a home away from home for your dog.

Safe Home & Experience Dog HandlerSouth Easton, MA

Safe Home & Experienced Dog Handler

PLEASE HAVE DOGS GROOMED AND NAILS DONE BEFORE STAY

I have been working with dogs for over 50 years. When I was a young girl my father who was a police officer at the time let me help him train a working Shepherd Lab mix named Blackie. Blackie was an unbelievable learning experience for me and started my love for dogs. Blackie was taught to be a protection dog, alert dog and she could do many useful tricks. Since then I have had many of my own dogs from purebred to my now two little rescues. Over the years friends would come and ask me for help training their dogs and to board overnight. It something I have really enjoyed my whole life.

Now that I am retired I am finally doing what I love! I am open to take up to 4 new dogs I try to save space for my repeat clients or emergency drop offs with that said I have had up to 6-7. Book well in advance specially school vacation weeks and summertime. If you have any questions please feel free to ask or send me a message I understand leaving your fur babies at someone's house that you do not know is very difficult. I'll look forward to meeting you at a Meet and Greet. If you are wondering if setting up your own Rover is right for you I can even answer those questions.

Candace my assistant also lives here so fur babies are ever hardly alone!

At my place in Easton I have two large fenced in yards! Daily activities include just hanging out together to ball chasing and if needed working on commands. I find that most dogs love learning, working on commands and the one on one interaction. Our activities are done on my property in the fenced in areas. If your dog loves to walk we can do that too on my quiet road. To enter my house from the front you have to enter through two doors so there is little chance of your dog being able to get out the door accidentally.

There is a caged Love Bird .

If you don't allow dogs on furniture I respect those rules. If you are ok with dogs on furniture that's ok with me too! I have crates in house just in case uncrated dogs need alone time you be surprised how well they relax in their den!

One most asked question is, I don't crate my dog so where will they sleep? Pretty much where they are comfortable, in the living room, kitchen floor or in my bedroom.

Thank you for your consideration.

Your Dog's Little Place in BostonEast Boston, Boston, MA

We pride ourselves on taking lots of photos and providing updates for every dog who stays with us. Usually we text or email photos and provide photo galleries with dozens or hundreds of pictures throughout a dog's stay. (Depending on length of stay.) That seems to work better for most people than using the Rover app for photos. You will definitely receive photos of your dog during their stay with us from the first day to the last!!

We are dog lovers without a dog of our own at the moment and thought this would be a useful service we could offer to others in our community. We love dogs and will treat yours just as we would our own while they are in our home. (Being careful to follow all of your instructions of course).

We own our own pet-friendly condo near a nice big park and a dog park too (literally around the corner) in East Boston. It's just one T stop from downtown Boston (waterfront/financial district), or we're right off of 1A or 90 by car. If you're flying, it may be convenient that we're very close to Logan.

We're only a block away from East Boston Memorial Park and the Bremen St dog park. We go to the park for longer walks a couple of times a day weather permitting, and depending on the ability and preferences of the dogs of course. We also like to take the dogs who stay with us to the dog park, unless that's not something they enjoy. And of course that's perfectly OK too!

We don't have many of our own rules inside... about keeping off of furniture and that sort of thing, but we are always careful to follow any rules that come with each dog.

We typically watch only one dog at a time, although we will occasionally make exceptions for dogs from the same family or our regulars who we know get along very well with other dogs, but only with the explicit permission of everyone involved.

We have a small place but there is plenty of room for favorite toys, beds, blankets, etc.

About this sitter:

My beloved Dalmatian Billy died a few years ago. I haven't brought a new dog home yet so I thought this would be a great way to help other people and get my dog fix!

Why I love dog sitting

There wasn't an option like Rover when we had our dog Billy. We didn't feel comfortable leaving him at kennel, which really limited what we were able to do for a long time. I love that I can provide a home away from home with the fun and attention all dogs deserve so that you can feel comfortable leaving your dog when you need to, knowing that they'll be well cared for.

Meet my pets

Our cats, Molly and Katie, get along well with dogs. They've had a lot of practice since we've started working with Rover (and previously DogVacay).
