Ashley and Mrs. Cathy did an excellent job with my cats. They can sometimes get into trouble when they're left alone, but Ashley made sure to play with them a lot and calm their nerves about being alone while I was gone. They really got comfortable with both ladies and so didn't get into any trouble, for which I am very grateful! Especially since last time I came home from a vacation my cats had destroyed a bunch of my stuff haha! Would highly recommend Ashley and Mrs. Cathy!

About: I've got a solid background in basic obedience training and socialization techniques, using positive reinforcement to help your pets form good habits right from the start. I know how to cater to the needs of senior pets, like giving medications, providing gentle exercise, and making sure they're comfortable and mobile. I customize care plans based on each pet's personality and age, so they get the care that suits them best. My top priority is your pets' safety and well-being, and I’m trained in first aid and emergency procedures. I also keep things fun and engaging for them with activities that stimulate their minds, whether it’s through puzzle toys, training sessions, or interactive play. Pet care is a big part of my daily routine. Every morning starts with feeding and a bit of playtime to get them energized for the day. I make sure to take them out for walks or play sessions, depending on their needs. Throughout the day, I check in on them, ensuring they have fresh water and some time to relax. In the evenings, I usually spend more quality time with them, whether it's training, cuddling, or just hanging out. On a weekly basis, I also set aside time for grooming and any necessary vet visits. Overall, I try to integrate pet care into my life seamlessly, making it a fun and fulfilling part of my day! When it comes to caring for pets in my home or my clients' homes, I focus on creating a safe and comfortable environment. I make sure the space is pet-proofed—removing any hazards and providing a cozy area for them to relax. I prioritize building trust with the pets through gentle interaction and positive reinforcement, ensuring they feel secure and loved. Depending on the service, I tailor my approach. For basic care, I stick to their routine, keeping feeding and exercise consistent. If I'm providing training, I use fun and engaging methods that help them learn while enjoying themselves. I also pay close attention to their body language and behavior, adapting my care to meet their needs and help them feel at ease. Overall, my goal is to make sure every pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for.

Jessica was super responsive and took great care of our cat! One of our cats needed pain meds after an oral operation, and Jessica made sure he had all of his medication and taught us a better way to administer it! Will definitely try to use her services again!

About: I started working with pets when I was ten years old and volunteering at my local animal shelter. In highschool I worked as a kennel tech and I also took on pet sitting jobs while in highschool! I’m a very busy bee but make it an effort to open up time for at least one weekend a month to be able to provide help to you and your sweet fur babies! I’m always willing to be a helping hand whenever I can! As far as caring for pets in your home while house sitting I am very focused on routine. I believe it is important for pets to not fall out of a routine as staying in one keeps them happy and more comfortable especially when a new person is staying in their home!

About: Hey guys, my names Trey :) I’ve taken care of animals of every breed/size. Growing up, my parents always allowed me to have animals. I had dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, pigs, horses, rats, and reptiles. As you can see, I don’t discriminate on what animal you may have and all are welcomed here! At 15, I had my first job as a dog groomer. I was in charge of grooming, kennel upkeep, walking, and boarding. I have two dogs, and a bearded dragon who are spoiled with unconditional love. Currently working full time from home, so I’d have plenty of time to watch over your fur babies. I keep up with posting dates that im available, if there’s a day open I’ll be all yours! I have a fenced in yard with enough room for them to run around and release some energy. I have two dogs, who are extremely sweet and gets along with others. They’d love to have a friend around.. possible to keep them separate as well. Also have my own vehicle, so picking up and bringing your buddy to parks is no problem. I’m able to tailor to your pets needs and get accustomed to their daily schedule. While your animal is in my care, I’ll follow up with text and photos to keep your mind at peace :).

Alex did drop-in visits at our home while my husband and I were away on our trip. He was always on time and spent ample time and attention to our dog Peaches for all 30 visits we had him. He also did a great job of communicating throughout. Peaches really loved him! I would highly recommend Alex and will definitely request him for our next trip!

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life, so I know they’re family. Since I grew up in a home with a dog, looking after them feels like second nature to me. While I don't have a background in professional grooming or training, I have years of hands-on experience raising my own animals I'm comfortable with small pets like guinea pigs and rabbits. Whether I’m house-sitting or just stopping by for a check-in, I’ll leave your home exactly how I found it. You’ll get plenty of photo updates so you can see that your pets are safe and happy. I also make it a priority of following your instructions to the letter, whether it’s specific feeding times, medication, or house rules. I'm currently a college student so I'll have plenty of time to care for your pets when im out of class. I'm available: Mondays after 3pm Fridays and Saturdays after 12pm I take the safety of your home and your pets seriously. I’m a big believer in double checking that doors are locked, alarms are set, and gates are closed when I leave. I will also keep in contact if something seems out of the oridnary. I also make sure toys are put away so your pets stay out of trouble while they’re unsupervised. You’ll never have to wonder if the house is secure. I'll treat your home as I would mine, tidy. I'm a naturally clean and organized person. If I’m house-sitting, I’ll keep the common areas tidy and ensure your pet’s living spaces like litter boxes, cages, or feeding mats stay spotless. You'll come home to a relaxed and well cared for pet.

FAQs for Drop-In Visits - Raceland

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 217 sitters on Rover offering Pet Sitting across Raceland. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Raceland stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Raceland. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
