Desiree did a wonderful job taking care of my cat while I was away for a work trip, and made sure that he was well fed and played with. She was very communicative and sent lots of great pictures! I would be happy to have her as a sitter again in the future. 😺

We’re so grateful to Alexis for taking such wonderful care of Levi while we were away. As an older dog, he needs a bit of extra patience and understanding, and she provided exactly that. If you’re searching for someone trustworthy to look after your pet, she’s the one. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again in the future.

About: As a pet owner, I understand how nerve wracking it is to leave your baby with someone you barely know but I assure you, your babies will be PAMPERED. I have grown up with animals all my life (dogs, cats, lizards, fish). I also have worked at my hometown zoo for 4 years where I gained animal handling experience and zookeeping experience. With that, I am very comfortable with medicine administration and handling anxious animals. I am currently a graduate student and only have 1 three hour class a day so I will not be gone very long! Thursday, Saturdays, and Sundays I am completely free! I cannot host pets in my own home and usually stay over night for however long is needed. I am comfortable with crating, medicine administration, and any special diets your baby may need!

About: I’ve had 10+ years of dog experience. I was introduced to big breed dogs at the age of 5 and have been in love with them since. I have experience in caring for dogs and corrective behavior. My Availability schedule is very flexible. I make 30 minute house calls at your convenience and I will do up to 3 days of overnight sitting in your home. I think that it is very important to keep pets in their own familiar environment, therefore, I take suggestions from owners about their dog’s favorite hobbies and parks.

About: I’m available most weekends! My main job is working in a lab, but I like doing Rover on the side. I have a miniature pinscher at home, so I’m very experienced with big and small dogs, but especially the little and high energy ones! Finally getting back into this after a long break because of school 😊 I am currently working a Monday through Friday job and I need something to fill my weekends when I have nothing going on and have some free time. During walks I like to make sure the collar and leash are secure to ensure no mishaps. I am overly cautious of my surroundings, especially when another dog comes along our path. If your dog doesn’t get along well with other pups I make every effort to redirect them such as switching sides of the street, a light tug on the leash to face them another way, or stopping and securing your dog to allow the other walker to pass by. I also like to reward good behavior with scratches and treats as long as you as the dog mom/dad are okay with it!

So, I just moved to houma, just started a new job, and I rescued a rambunctious 8 month old puppy all within a 2 week timeframe. To say I have my hands full would be a complete and total understatement. I was super super skeptical about this app at first…. leaving my baby in a stranger’s hands ? I just needed some help entertaining my little girl for a couple of hours a day while adjusting within my new position at work and trying to make our house feel like a home. As you may know, puppies demand constant attention, as all babies do. I wanted to make sure my girl got the attention she needed during times I could not provide my undivided attention, so we chose Debra! Debra was | is ABSOLUTELY amazing! she’s very communicative — confirmed the dates, times, activities, and confirmed what my expectations were. she sent me photos and videos of the visit while i was at work, and it just made me feel so much better that my baby wasn’t at home locked in a kennel alone all day while I was at work. she taught my girl how to play fetch, took her on a walk, fed her, even cleaned up her ? in the yard. she is humble, personable, very down to earth, flexible, and just a total dog person! she has completely exceeded my expectations! she truly is the blessing that both my puppy and I needed during this new trying chapter of our lives! angel loves her new aunt debra, and we can’t wait for all of the future play dates! would definitely recommend debra for sure!! ????

About: I’ve always loved caring for animals. I am always the go to for friends and family members when they need pet sitting. I am very patient and caring. I do have a dog (3yrs), a cat (2yrs), a bearded dragon (12yrs), and a guinea pig (4yrs). Right now, I would like to start off offering servicing on weekends and hope to expand those offers later on. I do work during the week as of right now and have Saturdays and Sundays completely off. I provide a very loving and caring environment for all my pets. They are well provided for and given the proper attention. Right now, I can only sit smaller animals as I hope this will change once I move. I am open to providing services at client’s home as I would strictly be going there to take care of the pet and provide the necessary/desired services.

About: I have worked in veterinary clinics for over two years and I currently work as a veterinary technician at an animal shelter. I’ve also house sat for a number of clients with animals that required frequent care and attention. I also offer nail trims and baths, including medicated baths if necessary I have just recently moved to Louisiana and I look forward to meeting as many clients as possible to hopefully build a relationship. I would like to be your go-to sitter! My number one goal is to make owners comfortable while away, knowing that their best friends and fur-children are in good hands while also ensuring that your home is well taken care of. I have years of experience and multiple return clients that can back this up! Also, my veterinary experience allows me to administer medication effectively as well as special treatments if it is needed.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Houma stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
