“We are always grateful to have Desiree check in on our dogs! She is always reliable and has such a servant’s heart! She is one I always recommend when anyone asks for pet help!”

“Summer took excellent care of our dogs and sent plenty of pictures, videos and a brief summary of each visit. She did things around the house that she didn’t have to do ensuring the well-being of our dogs. Great communication and I’d definitely recommend Summer.”

About: I absolutely love animals of all kind! I have taken care of/ owned pets my entire life including dogs, cats, turtles, lizards, and fish! I have been dog-sitting for other families for about a year prior to Rover! I have strong passion for taking care of animals! I am a college student at U of M and I currently only work part-time! I have tons of open availability to be there for your pets! When taking care of pets, I make sure they are well fed, comfortable, and loved! My priority is to make sure your babies feel respected in their space!
“I am so thankful for Angela! I booked her last minute on a holiday weekend for an early morning drop-in visit. She came to meet my fur babies the Friday before their scheduled drop-in which made me feel so much more comfortable. She fed, watered, let them out to potty, and stayed an extra 30 minutes to give them some extra play/exercise time out of their kennel. She messaged me as soon as she arrived, left, gave me a report on the boys, uploaded pictures, and let me know they were safely back in their kennels before leaving. Her communication skills were great, she did everything exactly as I asked, and I know the boys were well taken care of while they were in her care! We will definitely be using Angela from here on out for all of our drop-in needs! Thank you, Angela for your excellent care!”

About: I enjoy pet sitting in my free time. I also have a residential cleaning business, so sometimes they come as a package deal! I’ve had dogs my whole life; I currently have four. They’re my life and when pet parents are comfortable with it, I bring along my blue heeler pup to play with my pet sitting dogs. He tires them out in minutes lol! I make my own schedule, so I am available for drop-ins and local overnights 7 days/ week. I also typically do early morning dog walking sessions when close to my other pet clients. I focus on plenty of outside time with my pet clients, especially if they have high energy! I give plenty of love and treats and give fresh water every trip to the home.

About: I’ve had a strong love for dogs since I was a small child, and caring for them has always come naturally to me. I’m playful and energetic with active dogs, while also being calm and comforting to more laid-back pups who just want cuddles and company. I truly enjoy getting to know each dog’s unique personality and making them feel safe, loved, and happy. I’d love the opportunity to enjoy every special moment with your fur baby and care for them like they’re my own. Since it’s summer and I’ve already graduated, I have a very open and flexible schedule and am available most days at almost any time. I’m able to stop by in the morning, afternoon, and again before the night ends to make sure your dog is comfortable, cared for, and getting plenty of attention throughout the day. Taking great care of your dog and making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved will always be my top priority. I have a fenced yard, feeding bowls, and a leash to help keep your dog safe and comfortable while in my care. I’m also more than willing to purchase any additional supplies needed to make sure your dog is cared for properly and feels as comfortable as possible. Your pet’s safety, happiness, and well-being will always come first with me.
“Lei was absolutely wonderful! Her communication was excellent. I know our pets felt at home with her. She and Chris (her husband, who is retired military) did so much more than taking care of our pets. They also watered my flowers, took our garbage to the street, notified us of a problem with our house. Lei even left the prettiest card accompanied by a tiny bunny and vase of flowers. Thank you, Lei and Chris, for your kindness and attention to detail while we were away)”

About: I have five years of pet-sitting experience caring for both dogs and cats, and I’m also a dog owner myself. My dog, Boudro, has taught me how important patience, routine, and attention are for happy pets. I’ve provided overnight house sitting, feeding, walks, playtime, and plenty of affection, and I’m comfortable giving medications as directed. I focus on keeping pets relaxed, safe, and loved while maintaining their normal schedule so they feel at ease while you’re away. Caring for animals is already part of my daily life since I have my own dog, so feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and attention are naturally built into my routine. I’m currently in college, and I carefully plan my pet-sitting commitments around my class schedule to make sure pets stay on their normal routine and are never rushed or overlooked. I schedule visits intentionally so each pet gets quality time, exercise, and comfort, not just a quick check-in. I’m available for morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight care, and I always make sure pets feel secure, cared for, and relaxed while their owners are away. In my home, I provide a calm, safe environment where my pet can relax and feel comfortable. I follow a normal feeding schedule, provide regular potty breaks, walks, playtime, and plenty of attention so he doesn’t feel stressed or lonesome. I keep a clean space and make sure my pet has a quiet area to rest. I always treat each pet as if they were my own. In a client’s home, I stick closely to the pet’s established routine so everything feels familiar. For pet sitting and walks, I handle feeding, fresh water, exercise, playtime, and any medications as directed. During overnight house sitting, I make sure pets are not left alone for long periods, keep them company in the evenings, maintain a tidy and secure environment, and send regular updates so owners have peace of mind while they’re away.

Whether it’s walks, playtime, medication, cuddles, or simply keeping them company, my goal is to make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I currently work part-time as a bartender, which gives me a flexible schedule to provide dependable care for your pets. Whether your dog is staying overnight, coming for daycare, or just needs a walk or drop-in visit, I’ll make sure they get plenty of exercise, playtime, attention, and love. I live in the Raleigh, Memphis area, making it convenient for local families. I’ll do my best to accommodate your pet’s routine and any special scheduling needs. With over 13 years of experience caring for dogs, including senior dogs and those with disabilities, anxiety, and special needs, I understand that every pet is unique. My professional background as a therapist has strengthened my patience, observation skills, and ability to remain calm and attentive, helping me recognize changes in behavior and provide compassionate, individualized care. I’m comfortable administering medications, providing baths and light grooming if requested, and carefully following your pet’s feeding schedule, exercise routine, and any special instructions. Pets are welcome on the furniture, and you’ll receive regular photo and video updates so you can relax knowing your furry family member is safe, loved, and treated like one of my own.

About: Back in 2014, I attended Tennessee College of Applied Technology, graduated early with my diploma in Assistance Animal Laboratory Technicians, also with a certification in Purina Mills Animal Care Course. I have done an internship with North Shelby Animal Shelter as well as Bartlett Animal Shelte, where I took stray dogs/ abandoned out for walks and to play. I have also intern at University of Tennessee Health and Science Center taking care of rodents, pigs, and other animals. I am someone who is mature, candid and who has integrity. Everyday I work to improve myself and my skills which is part of maturing and becoming better at what I do, this is why I want clients to choose me. I will treat your pets as my own pets. Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
