About: Hello! I can offer sitting, drop in visits, and walking for cats and dogs of all ages and sizes. I have worked closely with a veterinarian and a vet tech and have certifications in animal behavior and training. I have taken care of many cats and dogs throughout my years and have fostered kittens as well. I sincerely love all animals and hope to provide all necessary care and attention to yours and will make sure to treat them as if they were my own. I will make sure to communicate with you and keep you updated about your pet and make sure that they feel safe, loved, and cared for at all times. I hope you choose me to take care of your beloved pets as it would be a wonderful privilege and experience. Sincerely, Sophia Pearce I have a flexible schedule, especially in the evenings. My shifts are typically finished between 12pm-3pm, and I have Thursdays and Fridays off. However, this can change as I’m in the tourism industry. I have training in safety and animal behavior and will take care of them as if they were my own pets and communicate any issues if necessary.
“Right off the bat, we found that Kaleta is a such warm and friendly person! She’s also very reliable, trustworthy and it’s evident she gave a lot of loving care. I came home to a very happy kitty, along with a cleaner house than I left her with! I sincerely felt at peace the entire time I was gone. She’s a true gem, and Shambala and I are very blessed to have her in our life!”

“Lauren was great watching our 2 large dogs while we were out of town. They get excited sometime last and can be a lot to handle, but they loved playing with her and she was able to walk them.”

“Once again Diana knocked it out of the park staying at our home with our fur babies. I tend to ask for too much (like watering my plants while I’m away) and she took care of everything. Just effortless kindness and grace. I 1000% recommend her services and will definitely rebook! Love you girl!”

“We have two grown dogs and a puppy, so Annabelle definitely had her hands full, but she did great. She stayed at our house. The dogs totally fell in love with her. Can’t wait to use her again.”

About: We have raised all types of dogs. From working dogs to avalanche dogs. Even wolf dogs. I have been involved with dogs my whole life. They are part of our family I am around the house all day. I have different fenced areas for the dogs to play. I also have different apartments the dogs can stay in. But i prefer all the dogs live and eat and sleep around us. I go on 1-2 walks a day. The Back of our property is a fenced 1acre fruit forest we allow the dogs to sit on couches and we have multiple dog beds around the house.
About: I have taken care of dogs and cats for 8 years! I currently work part time at a dive shop right across the street from my house! I work part time throughout the week and have a pretty flexible schedule. I work nearby and can easily check in during the day and have frequent breaks! I offer both boarding in my home and care in your home, depending on what is best for your pet. My home is warm, pet-friendly, and shared with 3 other people who also love animals so your pet will get plenty of attention and affection.
“Our pup adores Greg, and so do we! Greg kept our sweet pup exercised, rested, fed, happy, entertained and safe while we were on our first trip away from our little guy. We felt so happy knowing Mookie was in Greg’s capable hands. Would recommend Greg to anyone, and can’t wait to have him with our sweet pup again soon. Thanks, Greg!”

“Carla is top notch at taking care of my French Bulldog Mitch! He didn’t even seem to miss me. Which is a great thing for me. Carla asked a lot of important questions and took amazing care of our home. I will definitely have her take care of Mitch again!”

“We have 2 chihuahuas, a 1 year old and a 6 month old, that are extremely special to us. We have never left them alone for more than a few hours, so with an upcoming week long trip out of town, we were worried about leaving them. We heard about Rover and researched all the potential house sitters, we were so thankful to have found Sierra. Not only were we concerned about our puppy and temperamental 1 year old, we were nervous about having a stranger in house, coming, going, and spending the night. However, we were relieved and thrilled how professional she was, so friendly, sweet, calm, & respectful with our dogs and our home. She popped over to our place the day before we left town to acquaint herself with us, the dogs, and our house. Then she stayed 6 sequential nights and days, fed them twice a day, doled out copious treats, took them on car rides, walks, hikes, and to the beach, as well as played and cuddled with them at every night. Even our skittish 1 year old dog, after a day or so, along with our love-bug puppy, fell in love with her, and probably miss her now. She sent us status updates 2 or even 3 times a day, sharing photos of the pups on their adventures, lounging around the house, and cozy in bed with her at night, which quelled our nerves and made us happy so we could enjoy our trip. Also, she cared for our house, she was immaculate as there was not a dish in the sink or pillow and towel out of place, she cleaned up any pee spots, and even re-made the bed for us with fresh sheets for our return home. She was wonderful to work with and we look forward to booking her again for our upcoming wedding week out of town in a couple months, we highly recommend her! Thank you Sierra! :) April, Edis, Charlie & CJ”

About: My name is Chrissy! Since a very young age, I have always had a special spot in my heart for animals of all kinds, although it’s especially soft for dogs 🐕 I have raised and cared for many different breeds of dogs, all sizes too! I have experience with puppies, special needs and elderly animals. Most of my time is dedicated to caring for animals, while my husband manages a skate shop (he’s a dog whisperer too) & our littles are very respectful, loving and kind with all the different animals we’ve been blessed to spend time with. We are a pretty active family, always outside exploring & appreciating what the universe has given us. We love a long walk on the beach and we’d love for your pup to join us! 🌊 Mahalo nui loa for your consideration in choosing me to care for your loved one. 🐶 🐱 ❤️ My schedule is completely open for boarding, check ins, daily walks and doggy day care. Please feel free to message me with any questions regarding scheduling and pricing. I am more than capable of providing your pups with plenty of enrichment, exercise and companionship. Whether it’s a beach day, daily walks, or help administering medications - I’m your girl! I have my own transportation and am available between the areas of Kalihiwai to Kapa’a.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 11. I love to take them on long walks, trips to the park, and out for a “pup-cup”. Recently my 14 year old golden retriever passed away, so I’m hoping to share my love with others’ pets that are in need of care! I’m currently working remotely full-time so would plan to work from your home while I’m watching your furry ones. This is an ideal solution as your pet is guaranteed focused attention and multiple bathroom breaks or walks per day. I treat every pet as if they’re my own. I love to make sure their needs are met & exceeded, plenty of pets/love are given, and that we send picture updates while you’re away! I am quiet & respectful and love to keep spaces clean, so I will treat your home as my own.
About: YOUR PAWS ARE IN GOOD HANDS WITH US :) :) Solution oriented, highly experienced with canines, and have a heart for helping people, and caring for animals...look no further. My wife Susie & I are originally from Missouri, and are high school sweethearts. We have lived on Kauai for 9 years, and are passionate in every way about dogs! We owned & operated a very successful in-home dog boarding business in Homer, Alaska for 3 years, where we averaged 6 dogs per day, and had almost 30 dogs staying with us on major holidays in our large 3-story home on five acres. We offered board & train services there as well. Besides boarding experience with all ages, breeds, and personalities, we have experience with training, breeding, volunteer vet work, canine healthcare, and have also served as dog handlers for an Iditarod sled dog team. Boarding with us: We have a wonderful home at the base of sleeping giant in the Wailua Homesteads in Kapaa. If your dog loves hiking, we certainly can fulfill that desire! We have cool tile flooring, and air conditioning for those hot Summer days, so there are no overheating concerns in our home. We have dog beds, human beds, and couches- all of which dogs are welcome on (we allow dogs to sleep with us too). We have a large backyard, and an enclosed back deck. We do not isolate our guests- they have complete freedom inside our home. When we go on walks, hikes, or trips- we utilize a leash for safety. We are not your average Rover sitters. We have such a great deal of experience, we know canine behavior, how to identify & treat health issues, how to adapt to every unique dog and their needs, and we care about our human customers just as much- acknowledging your specific needs & requests is very important to us, and we always maintain excellent communication. We are accustomed to some dog parents being hesitant and reluctant to leave their loved ones for a time, and we offer our support, reassurance, and patience with customers during that time, wether it be answering numerous questions, an extended delay to leave at drop-off, or several calls/texts requesting photos/updates- we're here for you, and completely understand. Feel free to reach out to us as often as you'd like while your dog(s) are with us to request updates/pics, otherwise we typically give you your space. We can pick-up and/or deliver your dog(s) to ANY location you’d like, just let us know (additional charges apply). Always stay in good communication with us regarding drop-off & pick-up days & times. Never arrive unannounced…we need notice before you are coming over (this is our home- not a commercial boarding facility with staff). What to bring at drop-off: 1. Food- enough for the length of your dog's stay with us. Sealed containers with kibble are preferred. We do not store guest dog food in our fridge, so please bring appropriate food (no frozen, cooked, or raw foods that need stored in our fridge or freezer). 2. Collar (or harness) & leash. ***Dogs must be kept on leash during drop-off & pick-up*** Please do not let them exit your vehicle upon arrival unless they are leashed. Same goes for pick-up...keep them on lead from our door to your vehicle please. Dogs that we DO NOT accept into our home for boarding (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY): 1. Aggressive dogs (aggressive towards humans or other dogs) 2. Dogs that have fleas 3. Intact males 4. Intact females during their heat cycle 5. Dogs that have extreme separation anxiety 6. Dogs that have accidents inside or not fully potty-trained (or mark inside) 7. Excessive barkers 8. Escape artists 9. Dogs that are destructive when left home alone House sitting: We offer premium house sitting services island-wide. We do require to meet with you first at your property to make sure it's a good fit, as we are very selective on where we stay, and who we're working with for live-in house sitting jobs. We're experienced home owners ourselves. Besides estate caretakers, we have been entrusted with the care and management of farms- both vegetable & orchard farms, & also livestock farms. We have personally owned dairy cows ourselves, and also have experience caring for horses, llamas, alpacas, sheep, goats & chickens. We are excellent with property management! Between Susie & myself, we also have experience with carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, power washing, house cleaning using natural non-toxic cleaning products, landscaping/lawn care, & tree pruning/hazardous tree removal. We are very well connected here on Kauai, and anything we don't know or can't handle ourselves- we know someone who can. We are caretakers at heart, and caring for animals is what we do best. We are the trustworthy family you have been looking for! We LOVE our job! We do not isolate dogs (unless owner requests us to), or it is absolutely necessary (we usually don't accept dogs for most of the reasons they may need to be isolated anyways). We treat them like they are part of our family (and they truly are while with us). The way we care for dogs varies specifically on a case by case basis. No two dogs, or owners, are the same, so we go with the flow (and requests/requirements/best interests) of the dogs & their owners wishes.
About: My experience with dogs started at my home. I've had 2 dogs at home for 10 years, but my relatives all have four-legged friends, so I've always given them help when they couldn't be around. My experience in America began here in California with two very sweet poodles with whom I shared my weekends. Then I met three other fantastic friends, so I decided to register on this site to find other four-legged friends in the area❤️ I'm an Italian au pair, my schedule is constant and organised, but I'll be available every day of the week 🤩 I am also available during the weekend. I plan on caring for pets in my clients home ! I will give them the exercise they need, play fetch, feed them and play/cuddle with them ❤️ even watch tv with them if that’s the kind of company they like

I started dog sitting in 2024 originally through referrals, then through Trusted House Sitters, now on to Rover! I have done sits up to 4 months long in Hawaii and as short as 2 days in Belgium, I can be flexible with scheduling. I truly love being around dogs, I go on walks frequently and I love having a companion as I travel. I’ve had dogs all my life and realizing rover would be a great way of connecting me with great dogs and opportunities! Your pets safety and happiness are paramount. I aim to keep a stress free environment and to ensure you know everything is taken care of. Feel free to ask any questions or reach out, I’d be happy to have a chat to show you why I’d be a great sitter :). I work online, so travel has become a huge priority for me and a way i've found routine is staying at peoples homes for a few months, while watching their dog! Oh i've had dogs all my life, they are family to me in every way, most breaks I take throughout the day are to give my dog some love or take her potty

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Puhi
We found Kaleta on Rover as first-time users and couldn’t have had a better experience. She was responsive from our initial contact and quickly arranged a meet-and-greet. Both we and our dog, Lolly, felt comfortable with her right away. Kaleta stayed with Lolly for a week and kept us at ease by sending regular updates and photos. She took Lolly on lots of adventures and clearly treated her with genuine care and affection. When we returned home, our house was clean and Lolly was happy and relaxed. We would absolutely feel confident booking Kaleta again and are so glad we found her.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Puhi on Rover is $29.97 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 57 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Puhi. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Puhi walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Puhi maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Puhi choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
