Dogs have been in my family my whole life and I was a dog mom for at least 20 years. I know firsthand how our furry BFF’s are FAMILY and how important it is to have trustworthy and reliable care for them when we have to be away. I travel a lot, and by far, pet care was always the #1 stressor in planning and being away. My sweet guy was old, quirky, anxious, and towards the end he had a lot of special care needs. I always worried if he was getting all his needs met or if maybe he was too much for others to deal with compassionately until we found our sitter! He was a genuinely great guy who loved our sweet boy so much, so I knew I was lucky to find someone I trusted and my guy was in good hands. So now, as a sitter myself, I can promise you that I will care for your sweet boy or girl as if they were my own family because that’s what I loved in my own sitter! My place is only about 10 minutes away from the airport, so it’s very convenient for quick drop-off and pick-up on your way if you’re traveling.

Sherry really went above and beyond to take care of my fear-reactive and anxious dachshund. I received updates daily that reassured me she was taking extra care to care for him and his special needs. I look forward to my Bob spending time with her again, if we are in need!

Schedule
I work FT from home M-F so there’s time for a walk before and/or after work, and then I am available for frequent potty breaks throughout the day as needed

Safety, trust & environment
I have a well fenced in yard and we are two doors down from a park. The park is tucked away in our community so there’s not much traffic and it’s very safe. We don’t usually see other dogs there, but plenty of chickens. I’m sorry, but my yard does not have a sheltered space so I can’t host outdoor pets. I can only host pets who are full-time indoor pets and fully house trained (no diapers or belly bands). I do have most basic pet supplies (bowls, leashes, crate for den style napping and an elevated bed, etc.)
A typical day
I would match best with people who primarily want their pet to be in good company instead of being just home alone for long periods throughout the day. Potty breaks in the yard or at the park before work, hanging out together during the work day with some toy time or play time here & there and then another walk to the park and to do things around the complex like check the mail and drop off the recycling. Just blend into the routine of the day really. We won’t be doing any big long haul walks, hikes, or jogs to tire out a hyper active personality or pups with excessive energy to burn. Depending on the dog and family preference we could get some car rides in as well. Perks for the pups: we have AC! It’s hilarious to see them enjoy the cool wood floor on their bellies.
