About: Hey y’all!! My husband and I are new empty-nesters, and have always had dogs in our lives. I speak dog, and having the experience of being a pet mom for so many years, I would love to take care of yours when you need it! I’m able to give them their medications if they’re following a treatment (I just don’t inject). So, if you need to travel, or just need some time off, bring your doggie to me! My two dogs are friendly and playful guys…yours will have a blast! I’m a writer, working on my books from home. I recently moved from Florida and got a new house with a fenced backyard that our own dogs enjoy and would love to share it! Even when I travel frequently (and use Rover pet services in TX as I used it while in FL), I am home everyday. I just save Sundays, and go to church. I have a fenced backyard, and 2 friendly dogs. When other dogs are in my home, I make them feel loved. My home is a quiet place with nice music that leds me to write. When having visitors, every exercise is done in the backyard! My dogs, sleep in their beds in the living room. I don’t have carpets and my place is a clean house. We are bilingual (including our dogs 😁).
“Our golden retriever had a lot of fun on his day over at Britteny’s!! We received a bunch of pics while he was over there which was greatly appreciated. Will definitely be taking him back for another visit.”

About: Growing up in the country, I cared for pets and farm animals. My experience and love for all creatures began there! Interacting with them has always been the highlight of my day. From cats, dogs, small animals, aquatic life and reptiles, to horses, dairy goats, birds, pigs and chickens, I have you covered! I've owned most, and cared for the rest. No matter what, I keep critters close! As a child was rarely seen without an animal or flock in tow. I raised pigs, chickens, dove, rabbits. As well as trained dogs and horses. Later on In Edna, I was a ranch hand on a small dairy farm. Now living in the city, I care mostly for cats and dogs, but I still love them all! I wouldn't imagine my life any other way! I have a very open and movable schedule. I can pretty much work with anything. The safety and care of your pup is always at the top of my list. I have a fenced yard with a large shaded area. Indoor and crate training is also great. I will make sure they are comfortable and safe.
About: Hi my name is Alan and my wife’s name is Valerie! I have become extremely enthusiastic about this app as it has given me the opportunity to meet and get to know new families, individuals and a few different dogs. I’m looking forward to meeting you and your pup and can’t wait to create a lasting relationship with everyone involved. My childhood growing up with my dogs i feel has given me a good amount of knowledge when it comes to walking, looking after, raising and potty training. My availability is a little spotty seeing as how I have a full time job but I love any and all dogs and I’m really hoping I can create new relationships with you and yours. I’m great with dogs and dogs are great with me. My wife is home everyday. And I will be home after 6pm. We are both home on weekends. Once she goes back to work after her maternity leave starting February 21, she will be home by 4pm. Valerie and I took a break from Rover for a while due to space issues but we just moved into our new house this past August 2022 and we are excited to provide a spacious home as well as a spacious fenced in backyard. We are also in a brand new community so it’s extra quiet here in our area.
“Milton did a great job taking care of our dog Dutch for day care. He has a great yard for him to run around and play and Dutch was very happy when we picked him up. We’d definitely bring him back again!”

“Brittany is amazing - we are so happy that we found her on Rover. She and Indy are warm and welcoming, and the environment is relaxing and plentiful for a playful pup. As soon as we dropped off Gray, our minds were at ease - Brittany clearly cares about taking care of your pet and does what's necessary to make them feel comfortable and safe. The photo updates were perfect, and we know that our girl had a great time. We will definitely be going back to Brittany whenever the need arises - she gets our highest recommendation.”

“Alejandro and Keyla did an amazing job in caring for our dog, Ruby while we were out of town. They kept us up-to-date with her walks, feeding and when she was resting. I know she was loved and well-taking care. Thank you so much for keeping Ruby!”
About: My name is Valerie! I have become extremely enthusiastic about this app as it has given me the opportunity to meet and get to know new families, individuals, and most importantly dogs. I’m looking forward to meeting you and your pup and can’t wait to create a lasting relationship with everyone involved! I feel like my childhood growing up with my dogs has given me a good amount of knowledge when it comes to walking, looking after, raising and potty training. I am a teacher and have always been very fond and connected to children so I feel like dogs aren’t very different from that for me! I love any and all dogs and I’m really hoping I can create new relationships with you and yours. I am currently off for the summer so I have plenty of time to cater to and give your pet the attention it needs all day! I have a backyard with a fence so your pets can get the exercise they need or even some sunbathing in during the day. I have two fur babies of my own to keep your pets company as well.
About: I’ve had dogs, cats, chickens and other birds my whole life, more than 40 years. I’m a retired teacher and empty nester and I’m home most of the time so your fur babies will get lots of love and attention! I’m retired so I’m home and available almost all of the time. I’d rather be at home with furry friends. They’ll get lots of love and attention with me. I have a large fenced yard and a one story house with wood floors. I’m an empty nester so it’s just me and my service dog at home. There’s no kids around just me and my sweet dog.
“Bo is just the best!! He spoils my mini poodle Freddie like he’s his own, I can’t rave enough about how thrilled I am with Bo’s services!! Will continue to use him for day care and when I’m out of town!!”

About: I have an exceptional talent in making each and every canine and feline feel happy and loved. They thrive under my care, and love individual attention and understanding. Pet care is second nature to me, and fits extremely well with my current lifestyle of working part time and living in a retirement community. Pets cared for in my home are well loved and get lots of attention. I walk dogs regularly, and am exceptional at playing with and caring for them. I am in the backyard with them whenever they go outside.
About: Bruiser. A friendly paraplegic dachshund whose physical needs required his humans to find help at their home when they needed time away. Helping care for him blossomed my new love for pets of all sizes and medical conditions, outside of my work life in a veterinary clinic. I would love the chance to take above and beyond care of your fur-babies, from those that are healthy and active to the ones that need comfort and warmth during a difficult journey through life. I have over 17 years of work experience in the veterinary field in multiple positions. Communication and patient care are a few of my number one priorities, along with ensuring your routine is followed and expectations are met. Insulin administration, daily medications, extra walks, subcutaneous fluid administration; these are a few of the abundant needs that I am able to provide with ease and skill. In my home, I tolerate (with love of course) two of my own fur-babies. Yuca, a blue pitbull terrier, who is an active little girl, and Valentino, or just Tino, a black mixed rescue from BARC. Our home has a large yard and close parks for those that may need outdoor play time. I understand the stress of having to put your dogs and cats in a boarding facility, as I myself love going to National Parks with my family. I would be so honored if you would “paws time” and entrust me with your kids, knowing they are loved the same as when they are with you.
About: Animals seem to gravitate to me, I have never had an issue befriending a stray dog, cat, or even llama. I’m always that one guy in the room petting the dog. I have a natural knack for animal care as well and spend a lot of time just being friends with my pets. I am currently looking for a part time, flexible job that allows me to be with my family more. Therefore I am currently not working as I look and I am fully available. I have a couple of schedule items that I work around but overall I have a very open schedule that pet care will work wonderfully with. In my home we have more of a relaxed environment. Dogs are allowed to run around the home freely for most hours of the day. Cats are allowed to roam the catio outside freely. No cats are indoors and dogs are let outside twice daily to run and play and a third time just to use the restroom. Dogs and cats are fed twice daily and water is freely available. In a clients home I follow any guidelines they have.
“Mazie was well taken care of and had a fun day. Loved playing in wide open space outside and with Josh’s 2 dogs. She got lots of attention! I think she would like to come back. This was first time going to Josh and my husband and I were very pleased. He was available last minute and we appreciate that..”

“Oliver loves coming to see Angela! She keeps me updated with pictures and videos of how Oliver is doing and he always looks so happy! Angela has been so accommodating as well with last minute delays or booking mistakes on my part!”

“We can't thank Penelope enough for being such a marvelous host!!! Our puppy is quite timid/shy but got along to everybody in the family as well as got more comfortable with fellow fur babies in no time! Plenty of pictures / video clips were shared thrpughout the stay, top-notch communications! Puppy came home happy, no stress whatsoever! Our go-to for repeating for sure!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 532 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Powell Point. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Powell Point commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 532 sitters in Powell Point, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
