“Caitlin was amazing! She responded quickly to my request and came over to meet our Gus and come up with a plan. She was infinitely patient with our skittish boy. We decided to do in home visits and she sent daily updates while we were gone. She even went above and beyond, shoveling our snow and getting the mail. She is definitely our number one choice for next time!”

About: Hi there, My names Kendall, and i’d love to be your new pet sitter/ dog walker! I have tons of experience with my own dogs, which I have 3 of. Their names are Copper, Ellie, and Rudy, and they are my best friends, i’d be so happy to treat your animals the same way! I also have worked at a family owned pet store for over 4 years so i’m familiar with safe dog, cat, etc. food, treats, and other brands to ensure your animal is happy and healthy. At our store we have two store cats named Skunky and Cookie, to which I am responsible for, and they have the funniest personalities. I have tons of experience with other types of animals, not just dogs and cats, I am very experienced with reptiles specializing in bearded dragons, crested geckos, leopard geckos, hermit crabs, chameleons, iguanas, etc., small animals including guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, hamsters, rats, birds, and gerbils, and fish! I personally have a crested gecko named Marley, a bearded dragon named Chi Chi, and some fish. I offer any advice as needed and can recommend products that are natural and safe for your pet, my only goal is to help animals in any way I can. I can't wait to meet your babies and look forward to giving you a stress free get away. You will not regret hiring me for your pet needs! I am currently working at a family owned pet store as of right now. I am in charge of cleaning and feeding reptiles and small animals daily, as well as the cats. As for my own dogs, they are let outside pretty much every 20 minutes, are constantly played with, and are fed twice a day with treats in between. I am a big rule follower, I understand routines are very important for animals and plan to follow instructions accordingly to properly care for your animal. I also am big on proper care and good nutrition, I always prioritize the health of an animal through nutrition and proper care. Whether that is from correct tank size to diet to walking/playing, etc. Your animals care will always come first when booking with me, and will be treated as family.

Grew up with horses, goats, cats and rabbits. Super excited to meet your baby! I am looking to fill some time, so I would be super excited to visit your pet! I’m also very flexible on scheduling as well. I will try to keep your pet to their normal schedule, so even if you are gone, they will not be too upset. I respect your property, and will clean up after the dog & myself to the best of my ability.
“Kailey did a great job pet and house sitting for us while we were on a trip. She managed two stubborn huskies and a house full of cats and kept an eye on things for us. Everything was well taken care of. She contacted us for questions and clarification as needed, communication was great.”

About: I’ve had dogs and cats since I was born. I currently have 2 big dogs and 6 cats at my home. I’ve pet sat for friends and family and sometimes I come over just to see their fur babies. I love going on walks with dogs but also snuggling up on the couch with my babies. I currently have a 8am-4pm job but it’s with family so they are very flexible if I need to leave and come back during the day. I’m currently enrolled in college online perusing a degree in marketing as well. I’m a very gentle person and I have a lot of respect for animals space. I don’t like to rush or make them feel threatened by me. I often however, hit it off very well with pets and love to play with them! I have tons of acres at my home so my dogs like to run free or on a leash if needed.
About: I’m excited to care for your pet! I love all animals and even wanted to become a veterinarian! I have a two Siamese cats who are good with dogs. I also have a two year old poodle named Tony. he LOVES to play with other dogs. We go to the Fort Gratiot dog park often! My family growing up raised golden retriever puppies, so I am comfortable with all energy levels! Personally, I am also trying to exercise more so I would love to take your dog for a short or long walk! Any other questions you have, feel free to ask! My pets keep me busy! I also have 9 chickens. I am happy to visit your fur baby anytime of the day! I’m happy to visit holidays and weekends too :). In my home, pets are allowed on furniture and on the bed. Food is given at scheduled times of the day - no free feeding so you would not have to worry about your pet eating other food. I am happy to house puppies and senior dogs. I can take them outside on a leash as I don’t have a fenced in yard. I have two acres on a dirt road in for gratiot.
About: Other than my own dogs (2 huskies and a Rottweiler/Shepard mix) I have cared for several dogs and cats for years. I have done drop in walks for two dogs and overnight cat sitting. I also worked at a dog kennel when I was a teenager, though that was many moons ago I know your pet will get the very best care on my watch! I had a cleaning company before Covid but have always been in love with dogs and cats. I have two older children who don’t need me as much and can’t wait to start this journey into pet care. I am available Mon, Tues, We’d, Friday and every other Thursday all day for your pet care needs. Having 2 huskies I know the importance of making sure your pet is secure whether that’s in your yard or on a walk. Also making sure there’s nothing left out for them to get into when I leave your home!
“This was the first time leaving Millie with someone other than family. Bailey was so kind and gentle with Millie. We never felt that we made the wrong choice in leaving her. Bailey let us know that Millie settled in well, and became her little shadow. Will definitely use Bailey again.”

About: I’ve been around and have always loved all animals. I have experience with dogs, cats, hamsters, ferrets, and fish. Open to helping with any pets. I work full time Monday-Thursday but I’m completely open to care for your pets Friday-Sunday. I like being active and getting outside so your pets will get all the walks and activity. At home my cats and dogs are free to roam the home. The yard is not fenced so we do use a cable in the backyard or go for walks on the leash for potty breaks.
About: Hello, I'm Carly! I have had dogs my entire life and I have extensive experience working at kennels, pet boarding facilities, and pet supply retail. I have an unconditional love for all animals and would do whatever it takes to make a dog or pup happy! I am a dog sitter, groomer, and a gaming streamer/content creator. Currently, I make my own schedule. I have open availability on weekends and can discuss weekly availability! I have 3 dogs that are all nearing their elder years but they are all still pups to me! They get vitamins and supplements every morning and evening with their all natural dog food. We go on walks everyday to maintain flexibility and hip/joint health. My dogs and my cat are everything to me and are a huge part of my daily routine. Nobody understands better than I do wanting your pet to feel cared and loved for during the day when you can’t be present. I have 5 acres of unfenced, wooded property. My pets, as well as any furry guests, are of top priority in my household! They are treated like family and I am always aware of where they’re at when exploring the property
“Rom seemed very comfortable with Megan and I felt at peace knowing my pup is in good hands. Megan was also very accommodating and came in earlier than I had initially scheduled, thank you!”

“Molly watched our human society rescue dog and her six newborn puppies. She did a great job and treated Lola and her pups like they were her own dogs. Molly has such a calming disposition and was so kind we knew the dogs were in the perfect hands for the day. She sent pics and updates during our time away. We would definitely use her again!!”
“Bonnie is by far the best sitter we have ever had! She was so great with our boys and took extremely good care of them while we were away. She took the time to make sure they were loved and pampered, brushed them for us and even gave them adorable bandanas. She left our home cleaner then we left it and also took care of plants/brought packages inside. I would highly recommend her!! Thank you Bonnie!”

“Gabby has been our pet sitter exclusively for over 2 years now and there is no one else I would trust with my fur baby. She takes incredible care of my very spoiled cat Luna - making sure she receives the same love and attention as when I’m home with her. After a few less than ideal pet sitters, it’s been amazing to have Gabby who cares for your pets (and home) like they are her own.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Port Huron walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Port Huron maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Port Huron choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
