I’ve had a strong connection with animals for as long as I can remember. From dogs and cats to rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, hedgehogs, reptiles, and even farm animals - I truly love caring for all kinds of pets. Friends, family, and neighbours have trusted me for years to walk, feed, bathe, groom, and care for their animals, as well as provide playtime, companionship, and day-to-day support. I also have experience fostering cats and kittens through an animal rescue organization during my time at university, which strengthened my patience, attentiveness, and ability to care for animals with a wide range of needs and personalities. In addition to domestic animals, I have experience rescuing and raising wildlife. This includes a whole different toolkit, which I’ve done while caring for an abandoned baby cowbird as well as three separate litters of baby bunnies that required around-the-clock syringe feeding, warmth and monitoring. These animals were successfully rehabilitated and released back into nature. These experiences deepened my compassion and ability to provide calm, dedicated care in delicate situations. I currently work full-time from home with a very flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets plenty of attention, walks, playtime, and care throughout the day. My weekends are also generally open unless otherwise noted in my availability. I’m very comfortable following detailed routines and special instructions to ensure each pet feels safe and cared for. Whether your pet needs medication, extra patience, or specialized care, I’m happy to help. I also have daily experience caring for a diabetic dog, including consistent monitoring, feeding, and sugar level monitoring. I previously cared for my senior dog, Mika, through her end-of-life stage, which required a great deal of patience, gentleness, and attentive care. That experience deeply shaped my understanding of compassionate, supportive care for animals during vulnerable times. Mika was deaf, visually impaired, was in kidney failure, and experienced seizures, requiring medication 5 times a day with a specialized diet. At home, I currently have a three year old sphynx named Nala as well as backyard chickens, so animals are truly part of my everyday life.
