“We used Mary’s boarding service. She gave picture updates and made the whole process a breeze. Thank you for taking such good care of my baby. We appreciate you so much.”

“Sadie and Daisy really seemed to enjoy their time with William! He was prompt with responses and sent photos. He also accepted our booking the day beforehand after our original plans had fallen through.”

“First time CeCe stayed with Nubia and the stay was exceptional. She sent photos every day as well videos. Nubia and her mom loves dogs, you can feel just by the way they care for the dogs. On the last day, CeCe woke up with cough. Nubia sent me a message too commutate and to ask if I was fine if she took her to her Vet. I was very satisfy with Nubia actions in this situation. She showed how much she cares about the dogs that are on her care. She followed up to know how CeCe was doing twice since I picked CeCe up from her house. Can't be happier with a dog sitter.”

“Min did an amazing job taking pictures, videos and providing updates on Jenny. Jenny was more calm and well-adjusted when I arrived to pick her up. Her ears were also standing up versus lying down in all the pictures and videos which tells me she’s having a good time. She also had lots of furry friends to play with. Thank you Min!!”

“Kathryn was so great! She kept me updated with pictures everyday and made the drop off/pick up very easy. Her pup also played so well and looked like they had an amazing time together! We will be returning to her for more boarding :)”

“Madelin was amazing! It was my dogs first time before around others and he seemed to take to them well! Madelin provided photos/vidoes everyday along with any updates. I love how communicative she was. She also helped out with the tear build up he gets sometimes without even being asked! I am so glad she was the sitter he has every had and I’ll definitely be back.”

“Our dog was so well cared for, loved, and we know she really enjoyed her stay. We booked a 10 day trip and while our dog is used to being away from us for stretches, she’s a senior with some quirks and we are always worried. Sangwian shared many pictures with us and we always knew our dog was comfortable and well taken care of. Would recommend to others and would book again ourselves!”

“Our dogs came home so happy and with zero anxiety! I could tell they were loved and cared for while we were away! So much better than boarding them somewhere they are in a cage all day. Will happily return!”

“Wilma absolutely loves Nancy and Clyde! She gets so excited every time she goes to their house and always seems so happy and comfortable there. They even prepared toys just for Wilma, and it’s so clear that they genuinely love and care for her like their own. I’m so grateful to have found such wonderful sitters for Wilma. We will definitely be coming back again! ❤️🐶”

“Lindsay was absolutely wonderful! She cared for both of our dogs on short notice and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the start she was communicative, reliable and made us feel completely at ease while we were away. She sent regular updates and many photos, which gave us peace of mind knowing our pups were happy and well cared for. We came home to two exhausted and happy pups, Would definitely book with Lindsay again. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter.”

“Joanne and the family were absolutely amazing! They took so much care of are boy Romeo! This are definitely people you can trust to watch over your fur baby while you are away from home!”

About: I've been an animal lover for as long as I can remember! With 16 years of experience caring for dogs, including raising and loving my own Husky, I understand how much our furry friends mean to our families. I know how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pets. My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, and loving home where every dog feels like part of the family. Whether it's playtime, walks, cuddles, or just relaxing together, I'll treat your pup with the same love, patience, and attention I gave my own. 🐾❤️ I'm a stay at home mom, which gives me plenty of time to provide love, attention, and care to your furry family members! I'm home throughout most of the day, so your pup will have lots of company, playtime, potty breaks, and cuddles. I'm available for boarding during weekdays and weekends, and I love making sure every dog feels comfortable and loved while away from home. Your pup's safety and happiness are my top priorities! I offer a loving, comfortable, and pet friendly home with a fenced backyard where dogs can enjoy supervised outdoor playtime and potty breaks. Dogs are welcome inside my home, where they'll receive plenty of attention, affection, and care. I always respect each dog's individual routine, personality, and needs to help them feel safe and relaxed. My goal is to make your furry family member feel right at home! ❤️
“We have never left our boy with anyone outside family. Shelby was great throughout the process. She kept our boy for a week while we were out of town. She sent pics and updates very regularly making the process much smoother and less anxious. Flash was happy and his usual self when we picked him up and we could easily tell he was well taken care of. I don’t think he wanted to leave at first lol. She was also very flexible with our drop off and pick up times. We will definitely use her again next time we need a sitter!”

About: I have extensive experience with pets from doggy daycares to grooming shops to vet clinics. I have been pet sitting and grooming for the last 10 years. My home is basically for my furr babies. They're allowed on the furniture even though they have 5 of their own beds and 4 little hidey houses. They literally have over 100 toys, all kinds, that they are willing to share with any pup they welcome in here. The house is theirs, I just live here and clean up after them. I work from home and I have classes that are mostly online so, I am home basically all day. I'll be able to watch the dogs all day and I let them go outside about every hour or so to go potty. I have a fenced in yard with a few chickens in the yard. I have an above ground pool with a floating doggy dock to make it easy for them to get out of the pool if they ever jump in but its usually closed off unless it is being actively used. I have 2 friendly shih tzu sisters that are spoiled rotten and 2 little kittens that love playing with the dogs. Dogs can go on all furniture and there are plenty of toys to play with. There are a bunch of dog beds and comfy spots for them to chill inside.
About: I’m a 25-year-old graduate student currently pursuing a degree in nurse anesthesia. Before starting graduate school, I worked as an ICU nurse, but I stepped away from bedside nursing to focus on my anesthesia program. My nursing background has made me very comfortable following detailed care instructions, maintaining schedules, and closely monitoring changes in behavior or health. I’ve cared for dogs with a wide range of needs, from raising a puppy to caring for dogs who require medication as often as every hour. I understand that every dog has their own routine, personality, energy level, and medical needs, and I’m happy to follow your instructions closely. One of the biggest benefits of staying with us is that either my husband or I will almost always be home, so your dog will receive plenty of attention and supervision. This allows us to provide frequent potty breaks, multiple walks throughout the day, and plenty of playtime for high-energy dogs. For older dogs or dogs with medical needs, I’m comfortable providing scheduled medications, closer monitoring, and a calmer routine. Our goal is to make your dog feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while you’re away, and to give you peace of mind knowing they’re getting attentive, dependable care. I’m currently a graduate student, so classes keep me out of the house from 12:30 PM–8:00 PM. However, my husband is home from work between 2:00 and 3:00 PM, leaving plenty of time for your dogs to get all the care they need. I’m home throughout the morning, so there’s plenty of time for morning walks, playtime, feeding, medications, and potty breaks before I leave. Once my husband gets home in the afternoon, they’ll have someone with them for the rest of the day, and I’m back home in the evening. Between the two of us, we’re able to provide frequent potty breaks, multiple walks, lots of attention, and extra activity for high-energy dogs. Our home is a safe, comfortable, and dog-friendly environment where pets are treated like part of the family. Our own dog is kennel-trained and stays in his kennel when we leave the house, which helps keep the environment calm and controlled while no one is home. When we’re home, he has plenty of freedom, attention, and affection, and even sleeps in bed with us. We typically take him on a daily walk and spend a lot of time playing fetch and letting him enjoy the yard. Visiting dogs can expect the same kind of attention, with plenty of opportunities for potty breaks, outdoor play, walks, and supervised interaction, tailored to their individual routine and energy level. My goal is to keep their routine as familiar and comfortable as possible while they’re in our care.
“Ashley was great with our border collie Dolly. She sent pics every day and Dolly got to play with kids in the neighborhood. I will looking to see if Ashley is available the next time we need a sitter for Dolly.”

“Jennifer was amazing!!! One of my dogs is an escape artist & Jennifer did everything she could to make sure my dog did not go exploring. She also sent frequent updates and photos throughout the booking. I’ve already scheduled 2 more bookings with her, she’s the best!”

“Our dog came back happy with zero signs of stress. Seems she's been very well taken cared for. Loung also sends photos daily and response promptly. Thank you so much and we will see you again soon.”

“Tracey was awesome! I would definitely use her again! My dog is old and has health issues and Tracey took care of all of them beautifully! She sent pictures and gave me updates on my dog the whole time I was gone. Thank you Tracey for doing such an incredible job!”

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
95% of sitters in Poetry can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Poetry home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Poetry.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Poetry sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
