âWe have two cats and went on vacay for a few days . Megen was there for 5 visits . On time twice a day and we came home to two very happy cats . I would give her a 5 star rating and would recommend to everyone . Thanksâ

âToshya was amazing with our cats, she really took the time to care for each one of them and make sure everyone was fed, loved, and got treats! I don't think our trip away could have been in better hands.â

âTJ graciously came for a meet and greet last week. Today was first dog care and the dogs were happy to see him. He has good dog karma and I felt very comfortable leaving my dogs with him. Puppy was happily worn out from lots of yard play. Will definitely use him again.â

âRachel was very sweet and professional! She sent pics and played with my pup! She spent the whole hour keeping my pup company and getting out some energy! Will be booking again! Thank you Rachel!â

About: I have a very special connection with all animals and will love and care for your pet as if it were my own! I have a lifetime of experience with cats and a few years of experience with dogs, namely raising and training my own dog from ~2 months old. Heâs the sweetest, happiest pup and he is very loved! I work from home and have plenty of time to spend with your pet, whether thatâs walking them, playing with them or bringing them to appointments!! I donât have a fenced in yard but have plenty of space to walk and play with your dog outside (or inside!). I can crate the dog if necessary, and my puppy is extremely friendly and welcoming with new dogs!
âAmelia was warm and kind and listened to all the directions I gave her (helicopter cat-mom here). She sent lots of pictures and updates about how everyone was doing after every visit. Just the best!â

âKate spent time with our very nervous rescue dog this past weekend. Kate is calm and sweet and she made progress with Foxy over the two days. It is hard to leave a nervous dog but we felt that Foxy was in great hands. We were so grateful for the reports and photos Kate sent. We will definitely be booking with her again.â

âJulia is a fantastic cat sitter! She sent photos and updates everyday. This was the longest I've been away from my cat since before the pandemic and my car gets so anxious when alone, but I came home to a happy well adjusted cat because of Julia's care!â

About: Hi. My name is Kiki and I love dogs!! I have years of hands-on experience working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I was a manager at a cage-free dog daycare for 5 years, where I handled everything from group play supervision to administering medications and managing daily care routines. I also volunteered for 3 years at Second Chance Dog Rescue, helping with socialization, walking, and basic training. In addition, Iâve provided trusted pet sitting services in Peekskill, NY for 5 years until the family relocated. Iâm trained in pet CPR, comfortable administering all types of medications, and have a dog of my ownâso I truly understand how important it is to find someone reliable and compassionate to care for your pets. I have a car, am highly dependable, and treat every animal as if they were my own. Although I work full-time and attend school, I have large daily time blocks available between commitments, which I dedicate to pet sitting, walking, and drop-in visits I care for every pet like my own, ensuring they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while following their regular routine, my skills are administering medications, and giving personalized attention. Every pet has a specific personality so I try to respect that much like people.
âKathleen is a dream! Cats were happier and the house was cleaner than itâs ever been after a trip. She sent pics of my fluff angels and was super communicative and helpful. It was a relief knowing I didnât have to worry.â

About: Iâve had lots of pet care experience throughout my life, thereâs never been a time that I havenât had pets in the house between cats, dogs, and other small animals. I work from home, so I will be here 24/7 to watch your fur babies (my mama is always around for emergencies). We have a fenced in yard to protect your pets since their safety is my #1 priority. We have a Shipoo named Suzie who would be kept in a separate area unless otherwise discussed. Your pet will ALWAYS be loved and cared for as if they were my own â¤ď¸ I work from home, so I am home ALL day. I love to exercise and we have a fenced in yard for all of the playtime needed (a larger yard for a leashed walk). Iâm always open to going for additional longer walks elsewhere Your petâs safety is always going to be my priority. They will have a separate apartment area of the house (that I spend all of my time in). They will also have a fenced in yard. Food and water (treats if allowed) will be provided all day. My doggie will be kept separate unless otherwise agreed upon!
âElisha is quiet & calm, and gentle with Bo. She was reliable and took good care of Bo when we booked the first time. We look forward to her caring for him again this summer! Thank you!â

âOur dog was so happy after Nicoleâs visits. -he was acting regularly as if a family member had cared for him. Thoroughly enjoy the photos with our puzzle feeder and him playing. Nicole is thorough!â

âAlexander is incredibly reliable, kind and helpful in taking care of Skipper. He goes above and beyond in making sure that our older dog is consistently given walks, meals and even an insulin shotâ
âThis is I think our third time having James check in our cats. As before, sheâs been very communicative and great with them. We get lots of photos and a thorough visit summary each time. Thank you!â

About: As a dog owner of over 30 year as well as a cat owner I have a lot of experience with caring for animals. I am very active as I go hiking or running at least three or four times a week where I would love to run/ walk/ hike with your dog. I can handle dogs as small as a chihuahua or as big as a Great Dane. I love all dogs, and would treat them as if they were one of mine. I am available on a regular basis and am very quick with my phone as I would always be available to you to get in touch with. I am flexible and could come in the morning, during the day, and even during the evenings.
âAliza is a warm and friendly sitter who was able to look after our two kitties on relatively short notice. She had some great ideas for how to handle feeding time based on their personalities and food-related behavior. She was also easy to work with. Will hire again!â

Cat sitters on Rover care for your catsâ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, donât forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Plattekill. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
