About: Honestly? I’d do this for free — and I have, many times. I’ve cared for dogs and cats for friends, family, and neighbors my whole life, and recently completed a month-long live-in cat sit. My background working with kids in sports and with autism has made me patient, attentive, and calm in any situation. Your pet won’t just be watched, they’ll be treated like family. My schedule is about as flexible as it gets. I work part-time just a few hours every few days, and the rest of my time is spent working from home on my business. About: I’m an attentive sitter only with experience caring for my family’s brown dachshund, Snickers (yes like after the Snickers bar lol), over the past year. I may not have formal pet‑care training, but I have a natural ease with animals and a friendly, patient presence that helps them feel comfortable. I’m reliable, gentle, and committed to making your pet feel safe, happy, and well‑cared‑for. I currently work full-time Monday through Friday on a hybrid schedule. I can work around my work schedule and supplying care on the weekends and in the early afternoon and evenings during the weekdays. Although all options won’t be available at once every week, those would be my typical options. As far as pet care, of course there’s feeding, walking, playing and exercising, and general comfort of the pet. I will be willing to supply whatever needs specific to that pet given the instruction from the owner.

About: I have owned pets since I was 4 years old. I have worked in the veterinary field since I was sixteen and am starting my 2nd year of veterinary school at Long Island University. Over the years I have pet sit for a total of 25 different dogs, 15 cats, a bearded dragon, a hamster, guinea pigs, and a turtle. I am able to medicate any dogs or cats, as well as give any injections needed (ex. insulin). I also have experience at a dog daycare where I was in charge of over 40 dogs of all sizes in one large yard together. I'm a wildlife biologist, and I've spent most of my life taking care of animals — in a veterinary setting, on wildlife conservation projects, and growing up in my own home with my family pets. I work as a full-time biologist during the spring/summer, and will have open availability over the fall, winter, and spring to help with your pet care needs! I started out as a kennel technician at a veterinary hospital, where my days were cleaning dog kennels and cat cages, feeding and watering, walking dogs, giving oral and topical medications, holding animals for exams, and keeping daily records on everyone in our care. Since then I've graduated from university and have worked as a field biologist for state and federal agencies, most recently monitoring endangered shorebirds at Jones Beach State Park here on Long Island. I also want your vet's name and number and a backup contact before I'm ever in the house alone. The thing I'm most careful about is doors. I come and go deliberately, I know where every animal is before I open anything, and I never leave a door propped. Dogs stay leashed the entire time they're outside with me, with no off-leash exceptions unless you've asked for it specifically. I give Medication exactly as written, at the time you've specified, and I confirm each dose with you. I don't adjust a dose or skip one because an animal is being difficult — I'll message you instead. Following written protocols precisely is most of what my professional work has been, in a veterinary hospital and in the field, and I treat your instructions the same way. I pay attention and I report: appetite, water, litter box or bathroom habits, energy, and anything that looks off. If something seems wrong I'll contact you right away. If it looks like an emergency and I can't reach you, I'll get your pet to your vet or the nearest emergency clinic and keep calling. And I look after the house. I clean up after your pet and after myself, I keep your keys and door codes private, I don't bring anyone with me, and I leave the place better than I found it. You'll get photos and a short real update after every visit. I also welcome any feedback, as that helps me do a better job in the future!
