Trace, care well for our dog Pluto, and watched over home. Trace and Pluto got along well , Pluto felt comfortable with him. We had a couple of meets before sitting and enjoyed conversation with Trace and wife Sam. Of course the dog and some emotions, of separation. Trace was quick to get him occupied on toys. Overall good experience. Would recommend.

Amanda was awesome! She took really good care of our puppies and our pig! She gave them lots of love, played with them, and made sure they were happy and well fed. One of our puppies has had two spinal surgeries so requires one to be really careful with steps and care. Amanda did a great job of being careful with her, and making sure she was safe.

About: I am an animal lover and have had one or more dogs my entire life of different sizes and breeds. I have years of experience helping friends, neighbors, and family with their pets. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, hamsters, bunnies, and chinchillas. So I am happy to care for more than just dogs if needed. My services include house drop in visits, and dog walking. I am always open to creating customized care plans to suit individual client needs. I am very flexible and willing to work you to ensure your fur baby is happy, healthy, and comfortable in your absence. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions you may have. I look forward to working with your and your animals!😇 *Prices may vary depending on level of care needed. I currently work a full time job, and come home on my lunch break everyday to check on my dog. There’s about 3 - 4 hours the dog may be left alone. So if you require dog boarding, your dog needs to be crate trained and I request that you bring their crate from home. I am willing to make exceptions just explain your situation. I have an unfenced at shared yard which my dog plays amazing in! Lots of space for the dogs to run and play. There are also some amazing trails and beach access near by that are perfect for nice walks.

Traci was super responsive and a great sitter! We had to change our plans last minute and she was understanding and willing to work with us so that our pets could be as well taken care of as possible. She sent daily updates with pictures and video that put my mind at ease and showed us how happy our dog Ellie was with her.

About: Certified dog trainer and behaviorist. Pet CPR certified Medication dispensing knowledge Grooming knowledge I own a 2 year old Goldendoodle, Winnie. I raised her while going to school for my certification from 12 weeks old. I practice positive reinforcement with balanced training. We work hard and play harder, and love an active lifestyle. I’m a stay-at-home mom and I intentionally keep my schedule open so I can provide consistent, attentive care. I enjoy staying busy and working with animals daily. Available 7 days a week, typically 9am–9pm. Weekend availability varies based on client needs. Animals in my care are treated like family, but with structure. I provide clear boundaries, routine, and guidance so pets feel secure and understood. Pets are given time to play, eat, potty, train, and rest. I incorporate basic manners and calm behavior into daily care so they’re not just being watched—they’re learning. I have a young child in the home, so I need to know ahead of time if a pet is sensitive or reactive around children. Requirements: Up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies) No intact dogs over 2 years old Must be safe to handle in a home environment I also use long leads when appropriate to safely allow freedom while maintaining control, which is helpful for recall and behavior work.

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since elementary school. Training horses and dogs has been my passion. Understanding dogs instincts and pack language helps me better serve their unique needs and personalities. My 35 years of animal care encompasses dog sitting, training, flying cross country on cabin with pup, breeding, and rearing physically and emotionally solid pups. I’ve ventured with my 4-legged buddies on hikes, walks, beach trips, long car drives, hotel stays, retirement homes, schools, river floats, horse rides, ranch work, and river walks. Living in the beautiful PNW there’s always fun to have with our pooches! I’m a work at home mom with four children and a beautiful tribe of animal, loving people. Kids and animals have routines to thrive. There’s always someone home to be with the dogs so no fur babe left behind on our watch. We go places the dogs can ride with us. Exploring the logging roads and nature walks are everyone’s favorite. Fenced yard and doggo doors allow for in and out as they please while at home. Routine starts with breakfast. Then it’s playtime with the kids while farm chores take place. If your dog eats 3x a day we’ll do lunch, more playtime, rest time since this is equally as important. Mental stimulation to stay sharp means using snuffle rugs, treat dispensers, hand feeding meals while reinforcing manners and obedience. My kids have a schedule and boundaries as do the animals giving everyone peace of mind.

I'm so looking forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks for stopping by my page. My availability currently is pretty open. I’m available part-time on a weekly service-perhaps every couple days if needed. It all depends on the location and services needed. I’m unsure how many pets I’m willing to take on at the moment. I can’t help but speak to an animal in high pitch tones as well as full on conversation with them like they’re answering me! Anything to get a head twist or a butt wiggle.

About: Hi, I’m Alyssa! I’ve been house sitting and caring for pets for years, and there’s nothing I love more than making sure animals feel safe, happy, and loved while their families are away. As a veterinary assistant, I bring both professional knowledge and hands on experience to every pet I care for. I’ve worked with animals of all kinds, whether your pet has four legs, feathers, scales, or tiny paws, I’m comfortable providing attentive, compassionate care that’s tailored to their individual needs. I understand that every animal has their own personality and routine, and I strive to make your time away as stress free as possible for both you and your pets. Whether it’s daily walks, administering medications, caring for farm animals, or simply giving plenty of love and attention, I’ll treat your pets as if they were my own. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry family! I do work full time, however I am willing to dedicate all of my time outside of work to your pets while you are away! I will follow whatever saftey measures you follow with your babies. I can safely navigate a flight risk pup or kitty. I am also comfortable with mild aggressive/snappy animals. I just want you to feel as little stress as possible while your babies are under my care!

Susan is an exceptional dog sitter, and I can't recommend her highly enough! When I found myself needing a sitter on very short notice, she was a lifesaver. Not only did she agree to watch my two dogs, but she did so with a level of care and professionalism that completely put my mind at ease. She seamlessly integrated into my dogs established routines, ensuring they got their regular walks and daily trips to the dog park. Throughout my time away, she sent me frequent pictures and updates, which I truly appreciated. It was clear from her messages and the photos that my dogs were happy, safe, and well cared for. What stands out most is the personal connection she made with them. She didn't just watch my dogs, she cuddled with them and made them feel loved. When I returned home, they were both completely relaxed and content, which reflected the comfortable and happy environment she created for them. If you're looking for a dog sitter who is reliable, loving, and will treat your pets like her own, Susan is the perfect choice!

I was extremely nervous to have a pet sitter that wasn't family or a friend for my 16 yr old girl. Anhalisa was so understanding of my apprehension she communicated multiple times each day with how/what my girl was doing and tons of pics. She truly exceeded my expectations. She has a 4 yr old son who, like his mom, has innate love and compassion for pets. My favorite pics are of him loving on my girl. The gentle affection this little guy showed my girl made my heart melt. I wish I could share a couple pics with this review. Suffice it to say that if you're lucky enough to have Anhalisa take care of your pet(s) you won't want anyone else to care for them from then on. She's truly a gem!

FAQs for House Sitting - Pittsburg

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Pittsburg on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 827 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Pittsburg. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pittsburg walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pittsburg maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pittsburg choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Pittsburg. On Rover:

  • 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
