“Grey took fantastic care of our one year old energetic dog! We came home to a very happy dog. Grey communicated with us during our trip. Our dog received lots of attention and went on a lot of walks!”

About: I am need of full time employment and have been pet sitting for friends and family for over ten years now. I absolutely love dogs and spending time with them because their love is unconditional. I grew up helping take care of my family's dog for about fourteen years and then helped raise a puppy who is turning ten in October. I enjoy being around dogs and playing with them so I feel like this is going to be the right gig for me. I am very positive and outgoing and love spending time outside. I'm currently unemployed and hoping to pick up as many gigs as I can to get a new routine started as I settled in a new location. I adjust based on the animal's needs. Some dogs I've watched have been incredibly more active and needing of attention than others, as well as cats. It's all about hearing what the owner needs for their pets while they're away to ease any anxiety they have of leaving them.

About: I’ve had several dogs of my own and lived with others: lab/pit mix, pits, two German Shepherds, a Great Dane, a friendly chihuahua, and an evil chihuahua. I’ve rescued dogs off the street, and am all around good with animals. I have a job that gives me a lot of flexibility in my schedule. I do travel from time to time, which is why I don’t have a pup of my own. I can be whatever your dog needs. If he’s old, we can relax together; full of energy? We can throw sticks around and run. Small and skittish? Food is a great incentivizer to build trust. I’m looking to make some extra cash and enjoy the company of your pets. I will make sure your dog is happy, fed, played with, and comfortable. I only take on one client at a time, so owners do not have to worry about their pets interacting with another owner's pets. Your loved ones will have my undivided attention.

“Ginger was great. Arrived early and took very good care of my dog. Sent me text pictures during the stay. I could tell that Jazz really liked her. The stay was for just a few hours to allow me to attend a social event, but I was happy to pay, the full overnight charge as Ginger was very professional, very pleasant and indeed very reliable. She would be my first choice in the Highlands/Cashiers NC area when I am traveling there. MKW.”

“Gabe took great care of our dogs while we were gone. He gave us lots of updates which was very appreciated! We knew they were well taken care of”

“Laura was a great dogsitter while we were out of town for a weekend! She let us know that everything was going well, provided a detailed summary of the weekend and kept us updated when she was heading out. Our dog loved her, and we would definitely have Laura dogsit again in the future and would recommend her to others!”

“I was nervous about someone we just met staying in my home with my dogs while we were away. Also, I have three pitties who come with a LOT of energy. Chris did an excellent job of making us feel comfortable at the two meet and greets, as well as this past weekend while we were in Tennessee. She was communicative and very helpful. She left the house cleaner than when she arrived. It’s safe to say that, given how it has gone so far, we are much more confident going to France for almost two weeks in a few days here. We’re confident Chris will take care of our home and pups. Got ourselves a dog sitter.”

“Michael is absolutely fantastic. This was the second time he stayed with my pups. It was a unique situation involving a hospital stay and unknown discharge date. He was flexible and worked with me to ensure my pups were well taken care and never left alone.”

“Katie is the BEST. My dog is a special needs, 17 year old anxious dachshund. He’s near the end of his life and I don’t want him to be alone. Even though she had other plans when I first requested her, she continued checking to see if I had found anyone. She called around trying to help me find someone who could sit ALL day, which is a challenge in its self. When I wasn’t able to find someone, she gave up her plans to be with my Bailey. I’m so protective and nervous to leave anyone with him but myself. Well, Katie was able to calm him, reassure his fears that he was safe. She found ways to calm him during a panic attack, which I’d never tried before.. She is resourceful to address unexpected needs. and attentive to all his special needs, including diapers. Most people would not take on this job. I say this to show her dedication and passion to help people and their beloved pets. She sends pictures and videos. An added bonus. She is great at catching really good photos of your pet. Check out her posted photos. she stayed in touch with me throughout the day. Which gave me the peace and assurance I needed. Most important, she was able and willing to work with all my challenging fears, doubts of leaving my dog, and the many times I changed my mind, and scheduled times etc. She stuck with me and helped me get thru the day. Thank you Katie ***** If Rover reads this review, as I’ve learned you do,?? please better clarify your “HomeSitting” category option. It’s does not specify hours that will be provided for the price listed. Nor does it included any category that addresses special need pets that need Basic hone care sitters. Some just need company all day to protect themselves from harm. Some are blind, deaf, need extra potty break, diapers, hourly feedings, medicine giving, bathing after diaper changer etc. pet parents need a category that’s reasonably priced for pet parents, yet worth while for the Rover sitter. High hourly rates are too high for the amount of hours needed on a regular bases, on top of all the expense special needs parents also are struggling with. Hope you’ll create this new category and fair pricing gir both sides. Most sitters don’t know the extent of care they are accepting the way it is now. This is causing conflicts between Sitters and Parents and what each party expects People like Katie are rare to come upon. She is what keeps Rover in Business,”

“Jennifer was fantastic! She stayed overnight with my anxious pup while we were gone and made us feel completely at ease. Her thoughtful care and updates reassured me that my pup was in great hands. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for dog.”

About: As a pet owner for over 25 years, I know how valuable it is to have a reliable person caring for your animals when you're away. I was recently laid off and would like to have a job working with animals instead of people ( at least for now). I took care of animals and house sat in my twenties and have plenty of experience with dogs and cats. I am currently unemployed, so I'm available anytime. My daughters both have plans for the summer, so I am very flexible on when I can work. Since I have my own animals, I prefer to care for animals in their own home. This is where they feel the safest and have less anxiety while their owner is away.

About: I am currently a coveted, 5-star petsitter and housesitter through TrustedHouseSitters with 22 sits completed (and counting!) in just 7 months on the site. For over 6 years, I have been caring for pets and homes of colleagues, friends, and family. Throughout my journeys, I have made sweet and affirming connections with numerous dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, fish, and the occasional bird, pig, chinchilla, and chicken. My petsitting responsibilities have included refilling and cleaning food and water bowls, scooping litter multiple times a day, taking dogs out for walks, engaging in nourishingly active play, and — of course — supplying snuggles, scratches, and belly rubs galore! I also have experience administering medication & shots to dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens, and have cared for senior dogs and cats as well. I have 6 years of experience housesitting. My housesitting responsibilities have included wiping down the counters, sweeping, vacuuming, washing dishes, cleaning the stove and burners, and disposing of trash/compost/recycling. My first priority is always the pets and homes I care for. I arrange my schedule according to your pets and homes in order to honor each of their specific needs at any given time, as I have a very flexible, part-time, remote job. I'm also a big homebody and am always delighted to curl up with your pets while reading, writing, or enjoying a nice cup of tea! I am a strong communicator who asks detailed questions to ensure that your pets and homes receive the care that they need. I am proactive in my care to ensure that you may go about your travels with ease. I follow all house rules and respect your home boundaries. Ultimately, I am a true lover of animals at heart who will provide tender care for your furry companions!

“Chloe was so great. She put our mind at ease while we were gone for the weekend. She followed our instructions perfectly and our house was exactly as we left it. Our dog was well taken care of. We will be booking her again in the future.”

Kalie P.
“We were away for 10 days when our original in-home sitter had to cancel last minute, and Kalie was a total lifesaver. She stepped in quickly and took amazing care of our two pitties and our sweet kitty. One of our dogs needs a weekly injection for allergies, and Kalie handled it confidently and with no fuss. When our other pup wasn’t acting right, she checked in with us and then took him to the emergency vet without hesitation. We were so grateful she was paying such close attention. She kept us updated throughout the trip, and during our FaceTime check-ins, it was clear our crew was calm, happy, and totally comfortable with her. It gave us so much peace of mind to know they were in such capable and caring hands. As an added bonus, Kalie left our house cleaner than when she arrived, which was a wonderful surprise after a long day of travel. She truly loves animals, and it shows in everything she does. We appreciate her more than we can say and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, kind, and dependable pet sitter.”
