Michelle was so good with our dog. Good balance with communication and pictures and videos while we were on our vacation. She even helped reinforce good behaviors we are still working on with him. Very happy how she cared for our boy. Thanks so much!

Sara was wonderful! This was our first time using Rover for boarding and it was a great experience. She provided daily photos and updates which made us feel at ease while out of town.

Lisette was very kind and caring towards my dog Shasta during his one week stay and I highly recommend her. She has outstanding knowledge about Border Collies, provided clear communication throughout the week and I could tell that my dog wanted to stay longer when he was picked up.

Sharon is a great dog sitter, and I was especially blown away by her consistent and immediate responses to my messages. This allowed me to plan and modify plans seemlessly (which was important since I was going on a camping trip without cellular service). Their house also has a wonderful yard which was important since I have a hyper golden retriever. All in all I would definitely recommend Sharon as a dog sitter!

Alexa is an angel! We have two dogs whom are used to being with my husband and I 24/7 because we both work remotely. We are very selective in who we have watch our boys while we are gone (typically family or friends would come to our home and stay with them)… but we moved from Southern to Northern California so need to figure out an alternative. After searching Rover I came across Alexa’s profile and read each review and she stood out as someone that could be a good fit for my boys. I reached out and was immediately impressed with Alexa’s responsiveness, and decided to proceed with an introduction. It couldn’t have gone better. Alexa had clearly studied my dogs profiles to get familiar with the basic needs of each and I appreciated the questions she asked to understand their normal routine. Within just a short time of drop off, Alexa sent an update with pictures which allowed us to see that they were making themselves right at home and enjoying play time and snuggles. My Boys looked relaxed, content, and exercised. I’ll definitely book with Alexa again!

Thank you to Michelle and David for watching Clover for the weekend. Clover got to sleep on a bed (instead of in her crate‐ yes, it was okayed!) and had a doggy friend her age to run around with. I think she enjoyed herself!

Patti and Joe are very nice and love their dogs. Rylee's stay was good and he did receive lots of activity, attention and made a new friend in Buttons! The only issue was when Rylee returned home, he had stomach (throwing up) and potty (diarrhea) issues. I believe this was due to extra food/treats/kibble that he received outside of the instructed daily recommended kibble plan that he is accustomed to. He has a very sensitive stomach and is typically not given any people food or alternate dog food and has to follow the instructed meal schedule. Once he gets back on track he will be ok and otherwise all was well. Thank you!

I know my dog had an amazing time. She looked happy and relaxed when I picked her up. My baby Roxie did well her dog and think they may have horsed around quite a bit since when we got home she just napped like she does after having park time. We got pictures and updates of Roxie and we could tell she was tended to and being loved as well. We were late to pick her up due to flight delays and eventually cancelations. Sylvia was easy to coordinate with for the extra unexpected day. Also, my dog was bitten by a dog the day before we dropped her off and she had meds and special instructions to which I know she kept a good eye on her as the wound/bite had healed and was looking good even 2days after the incident. I would totally recommend her as she is attentive and caring. Roxie is our baby girl and she can be timid but with Sylvia my doggie felt right at home!! That is priceless to know while we were so far away from our little girl.

Another stay at Walee for our Mosel. This time when we brought Mosel home she was sad and missed Walee and her family. After a few days and she was back to normal. Now we know we have found Mosels second family, and have no worries when we have to leave her behind. Thank you Walee we will be back.

About: I grew up on a small ranch with animals my entire life goats/sheep/cattle/dogs/cats/fish/hamsters majority of everything. All animals welcome we have plenty of room. I breed goats so there are always babies around and some of my guardian livestock dogs are in there senior years. My animals aren’t allowed inside of my house so it’s a sterile environment for puppies without shots or antisocial animals. If you want them to get accustomed to goats or cats lmk I’ll make it happen. I’m currently just doing college online so my schedule is pretty free. I work part time remotely as well so it has no real schedule. I get very restless when there nothing to do and my animals need me only once a day so would love to give my attention to something else. My personal home is a 10 acre ranch that’s fenced in. There is 1 acre fenced in around the house to keep separate from the livestock and my dogs. So any animal on my personal property that I board will have more of their own domain and environment. At a clients house if there’s no yard walks are gonna be the next best thing, or any in-house games. Make sure the get some energy out so meal time/bath time/medication will be smoother. All changes with the pet and environment though.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Pioneer home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
