“Jillian did an amazing job with my dog Oakley. On the 1st day Oakley was unsure of her and giving her a hard time. Jillian suggested taking the visit down to 30 mins from an hour so it wasn’t to much for him. She did not give up on Oakley and was very patient until he was more comfortable with her. By the end of the week he was much more comfortable and excited to see her”

About: I’ve been around pets my entire life, mostly dogs. I’ve owned my own dogs since I was 12, and I currently own a German shepherd and a Coton De Tulear. I consider myself a true animal enthusiast and I believe that caring for them is more than a chore, but something you need to be passionate about to give them the best care they deserve! Starting August 24th, I’m enrolled full-time in college, so I’ll be available M/W - before 1pm and Tu/Th - after 1pm, all day Friday, and no weekends. I can do full-day house visits (no overnights), drop-in’s, and walks. It’s all dependent on what my clients homes are equipped with! If you have a fenced yard and high energy dogs, I’m more than happy to take them outside to play and explore, or play inside. Treats are always an option, as are pets, cuddles, and plenty of love for your fur babies!
“My very shy cat opened up to her very quickly. She leaves very thorough updates and takes a lot of nice pictures. She always makes sure we are on the same page with care, etc.”

“This was the first time we used Nora and she was awesome. My dogs immediately took to her. She kept them busy doing all the things they love, which includes exploring outdoors and playing hard. We will definitely use Nora again.”

“As a fur momma of 2 (was 3) fur babies, I can’t boast enough about Maggie. Not to mention having dogs with health issues. I have one epileptic dog and (did) have one diabetic dog and Maggie was one of two people I’d ever trust taking care of my dogs. She’s reliable, and present the whole time, sending updates and pictures. Shes allowed for me to feel at ease when I’m away. Most importantly, during situations where an incident, like a seizure, occurred Maggie was prepared, knowledgeable, and eager to help in the best way possible. I also want to mention on multiple occasions while we were away we have had home issue, like our basement flooding. This is obviously not ideal for her, yet she handled it with professionalism and ease. As someone who is always worried about her dog babies/health concerns, I truly couldn’t be more thankful to have found Maggie. Highly recommend!!”

“Katherine was amazing! She won the heart of our grumpy rescue pup and took excellent care of our fur babies while we were away for a week. She was communicative, attentive, and cared for our pups like they were her own”

“Jessica was amazing with my cat! She’s been stressed from the move and I didn’t think she would come out from hiding but I got so many pictures and she seemed so happy and very playful! I would recommend Jessica to everyone I can, and I will definitely be rebooking for my next trip!”

“Gave cute photos every time! My cat seemed to love her, and was almost disappointed when I walked through the door instead of her. She’s very nice and said she enjoyed hanging out with my cat. 10/10 would book again!”

About: I have cared for my own dog for the past 13 years and sadly he died in February 2025. I walked him around my neighborhood consistently for all those years and now having that routine gone is difficult. Before having him as my own, I also helped take care of my families dog for several years. I am experienced in caring for dogs of all ages and demeanors and all sizes too :) I am attending SUNY Cortland right now and that is the only large barrier in my weekly schedule. I can care and/or walk dogs after 7pm on Monday and Wednesdays. I am available after 4pm on Tuesday and Thursday. Friday and Saturday I can provide care all day with a days notice. Without notice I will most likely be working on Friday and therefore not available until after 4pm that day. I can house-sit on Fridays and Saturdays and into Sunday afternoon as well! I will maintain a safe and calm environment for your pet while caring for them and allow them to initiate any desired games or actions. I am willing to accommodate however you prefer for your dog when caring for them, just let me know of anything necessary :) Any questions or concerns for your dog's care are welcomed and appreciated as I prefer a heads up in advance of anything unusual or to keep an eye out/for. Thanks :)
“Courtney and Caleb are wonderful dog sitters. They are totally committed to their visits with the dogs. Reliable, reporting, and cute pictures of our pups. Highly, highly recommend.”

“Pam was fantastic! She gave me daily updates and photos of my babies. She is very sweet and took great care of my kitties. I would definitely recommend her to look after your fur babies.”

About: What sets me apart is my experience working with dogs of all personalities and needs, especially reactive dogs and strong pullers. I have completed training with my own reactive chocolate lab through Justin’s Canine Campus, along with continuing training work at home, which has taught me patience, consistency, and how to read dog behavior closely. As a teacher, I’m dependable, calm, and attentive, and I naturally bring those qualities into caring for pets. I’ve loved animals since I was young and also continue to volunteer at animal shelters (Helping Hounds & HumaneCNY) giving me experience with dogs who may need extra patience, structure, or reassurance. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine. As a teacher, I have summers off and will soon be working part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility for walks, playtime, and quality attention. During the school year, I’m also an early bird and start my mornings with an average 2-mile walk with my own dog, so staying active and keeping pets on a routine is something I truly enjoy. I care for every pet as if they were my own and always focus on making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. In a client’s home, I try to keep pets on their normal routine with feeding, walks, playtime, bathroom breaks, and plenty of attention and affection. I also make sure their space stays clean and that they feel calm while their owners are away.
“Kristen was great! She gave me regular updates and took pictures of my cats so I knew how they were doing. It was such a relief to know that they were well taken care of and in good hands while I was away. Even my shy cat warmed up to her!”

About: I've spent many years working at a Pet Grooming shop in CNY spending lots of time with dogs and cats. I understand temperament and behavior very well. I know the ins and outs of pet care as I have two dogs of my own. Maxx and Winnie are both golden retrievers who love everyone and everything. If you're worried about leaving your best friend with a stranger, no need to fear with me! I'm excited to spend time with your fur baby whether it's going for walks or letting them outside. I love all kinds of animals and am ready to take care of yours! I'm currently off for the summer as I work for a school district, so I typically am available most days ! I'll try my best to update days I'm unavailable. I currently have two golden retrievers. One is a puppy, and the other is 10 years old. I do not currently have a fenced in yard.
About: From a young age I have been taking care of my own and other people’s animals, including walking, bathing, training, playing with, and sharing love with all of the precious animals I meet! :) During the work week I am available to care for animals in the evenings (and mornings as needed) and any time of day on the weekends! Caring for your pets in your home would allow for them to feel as comfortable as possible while you are away. I would seek to make them feel as comfortable and loved as possible and would follow any instructions or recommendations left/given!
“Lee truly loves our little puppy and has taken such good care of him. She did two drop ins on this recent trip and was prompt both times and left detailed notes. She’s great!”

“She did amazing with the our zoo. Dogs, cats, and birds. helped with medication and even cleaned up mess here and there. All the animals were in good spirits at us arriving home. She took awesome pictures of all the animals that made us worry less about all the pets while we were gone.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Phoenix
Jessica was great with my dogs. They have some behavioral problems and she did a great job following my management routine. I travel for work, and she helped me to relax while I was away from them. Prior to the visit, Jessica requested to set up a meet and greet. This assured me that I could trust her and that she cared about giving them the best care possible. I was moving that day, and was unfortunately late to our meeting. Jessica was very understanding, waited for me, and did not make me feel like an inconvenience, which was very much appreciated, as I was already overwhelmed. I highly recommend Jessica for your dog care needs.

Amber was absolutely wonderful very attentive with our fur baby. She was punctual and caring to our little guy. Loved the pics and videos and it was obvious from these that our little guy enjoyed the brushings, scratches and interaction. You can tell she is an animal lover and cares for your pets like they are her own. Thank you so much Amber!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
