About: Dog sitting since 2010, I love dogs and am not put off by size or jumping. After a few quick sniffs we are likely to be good friends. I work but I make sure I leave time between my multiple jobs to check on the dog. I have references if needed. It can be hard to give a key to a stranger and to trust someone in your home. I can grab mail, water plants, ***and care for smaller animals and additional pets that aren't the traditional cat and dog.*** I work part time, so I do not work more than 7 straight hours. My other jobs are often virtual/online or other dogs so it gives me flexibility. I have a cat and can only watch pets at your residence, because I have roommates. I love to snuggle pets (if they feel comfortable with me) and am conscientious in dietary needs and will read whatever instructions and specifics you give. I dont mind giving medicine. I will admit that I can be hard for me to do dinner times if it's on a strict schedule. I can get up as early as needed for breakfast time, but sometimes life gets in the way naturally. I am also a night owl and rely on that to earn extra income, So I do a lot of events. I'm an actor, game designer, as well as an educator and freelance writer. I like to follow instructions whether given in the form of an email or on a piece of paper. Vet numbers and any information that helps me best Make your pet healthy and happy is helpful. A lot of people worry when they give me a packet and I'm an avid reader so don't worry if you have more than three pages. I'm pretty sure the longest one has been five pages for one dog and even that isn't that long. :)

About: I’ve been around pets my entire life, mostly dogs. I’ve owned my own dogs since I was 11, and I currently own a German shepherd and a Coton De Tulear. I consider myself a true animal enthusiast and I believe that caring for them is more than a chore, but something you need to be passionate about to give them the best care they deserve. I’m returning to college to pursue a career in veterinary medicine and I’m looking for simple but fulfilling work that fits into my soon to be busy schedule. Caring for pets in my clients home will all depend on what I have access to. I am more than comfortable with taking dogs outside/on walks, crating them, and feeding/treating them.

About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all types/ages. My family, friends, and neighbors have all relied on me for years. Puppies and senior dogs are always a treat to care for as well! Currently I have open availability! So please let me know what your needs are😊 I will be going back to working part time at some point but not for a few weeks! Drop in visits are a great opportunity for me to give your pet a break in their alone time! I’m happy to feed/water or give any medications necessary. Walks are a great chance to get some of their energy out too, whichever service you prefer for your pet!

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of all ages and temperaments, and am well versed in puppy care. I also have cared for dogs that require medication. I will make sure your pet is comfortable and happy. I’m currently in between jobs, so I have plenty of time to make sure your pet gets the attention they need, and I am available most times in the day. I am able to walk dogs, play with them out in the yard if it is fenced, and feed them. I can also give medication and pet them for as long as they want!

About: I’m a very friendly and bubbly person that loves all animals. I’d enjoy dog walking the most since I love to be outside and exercise. I work part time as a nurse at a hospital in Syracuse. I work 3 days per week, 9-3pm, varying days. I am free during my 2 days off and usually on weekends around kids sports. I have a large fenced in backyard that a dog would love to run around in. I do have an older cat that is not too fond of other pets, so coming to your home might be preferable until he passes away, then my family is looking into getting a dog for ourselves.

About: Our family is known to be the neighborhood dog watchers, walkers, sitters! We love to give the attention your furry friend deserves whether it is a walk or playing or just cuddles. During the week we can work from home a couple days so there is more opportunity for the consistent love and walks, we will make sure they are not alone for long periods! We have a large yard, no fence however, so we do LOTS of walks with your furry friend. Contact us to let us know what works best with their schedule.

“Lee was AMAZING! Best experience ever for my pups, I’m honestly so glad I found her last minute. Communicating with Lee was fast, to the point and no hassles! I would recommend her 1000%!”

About: I've spent many years working at a Pet Grooming shop in CNY spending lots of time with dogs and cats. I understand temperament and behavior very well. I know the ins and outs of pet care as I have two dogs of my own. Maxx and Winnie are both golden retrievers who love everyone and everything. If you're worried about leaving your best friend with a stranger, no need to fear with me! I'm excited to spend time with your fur baby whether it's going for walks or letting them outside. I love all kinds of animals and am ready to take care of yours! I'm currently off for the summer as I work for a school district, so I typically am available most days ! I'll try my best to update days I'm unavailable. I currently have two golden retrievers. One is a puppy, and the other is 10 years old. I do not currently have a fenced in yard.

About: Safety and well-being are my top priorities. I offer professional pet-sitting services with a focus on positive reinforcement techniques for managing aggression, comprehensive puppy training, and gentle, attentive senior care. I am skilled in reading canine body language and implementing proactive strategies to prevent incidents. Let's discuss how I can provide exceptional care for your unique dog in the Syracuse area! I am a teacher who works summer school from 8am-12pm. I have open availability from June 27th- August 20 (except 8/8-8/10). During the school year, I am free Friday nights and weekends! Okay, here's a sample answer a pet sitter might provide when asked how they care for pets in their home versus a client's home, tailored to someone who handles aggressive dogs, puppies, and seniors: "My approach to pet sitting is highly adaptable, depending on whether I'm caring for your pet in my Baldwinsville home or in the comfort of their own familiar environment. In My Home (Boarding/Daycare): I create a structured yet comfortable environment where safety is paramount. For dogs with aggression, this means they have their own secure and private space – no forced interactions with other animals. Exercise and potty breaks are always done individually and in a controlled manner, utilizing secure leashes and, if the owner uses one and the dog is comfortable, a muzzle in appropriate situations. I am vigilant in reading body language to preemptively manage any potential triggers. Puppies in my care benefit from a consistent routine, frequent potty breaks, positive reinforcement training for basic manners, and appropriate socialization opportunities if they are at a safe age and temperament for limited, controlled interactions with calm, vaccinated dogs (always with owner consent and careful supervision). My home is puppy-proofed to minimize risks. For senior pets, I provide comfortable, supportive bedding in a quiet area. I adhere to their feeding schedules and any specific needs like medication administration. I monitor their mobility and ensure they have easy access to food, water, and potty areas, adjusting exercise to their comfort level. Regardless of age or temperament, I maintain detailed records, follow your specific instructions meticulously, and provide regular updates with photos and videos. In Your Home (Drop-in Visits/Overnight Stays): My priority is to seamlessly integrate into your pet's existing routine. For all pets, this means adhering to their feeding, exercise, potty break, and medication schedules. I ensure they receive the same level of care and attention they are accustomed to. For aggressive dogs, I follow your established protocols for walks and handling. I am extremely careful about securing entry and exit points and will avoid any situations where your dog might encounter triggers, such as other dogs or unfamiliar people, unless specifically instructed and it's part of their management plan. I prioritize solitary walks and maintain a safe distance from others. When caring for puppies in your home, I reinforce your training efforts with positive reinforcement, ensure frequent potty breaks to prevent accidents, and engage them in appropriate play to burn energy. For senior pets in their own home, I ensure their comfort, administer medications as needed, assist with mobility if required, and monitor for any signs of discomfort or changes in health. In both settings, clear and consistent communication with you is key. I want to understand your pet's nuances, triggers, and preferences to provide the safest and most enriching care possible. My goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your unique pet is in capable and caring hands

“Very accommodating! It was so nice receiving a picture of Charlie while I was at work. I definitely would recommend Melissa to anyone!”

“Kris is excellent. She cares about the pups and loves what she does! She is professional and trustworthy.”

About: I’ve taken care of pets since I was little, whether it be my family’s or neighbors that needed a pet sitter. I helped train my current family dog, who not only does basic tricks but can also spin, roll, jump through hoops, and complete basic obstacle courses. I’ve also worked with larger dogs, including an extremely large “purebred” black lab (he definitely wasn’t purebred) and a Great Dane. Finally, I am well-versed in puppy training as we’ve been fostering puppies lately (note: will not be fostering concurrent to boarding appts). I thoroughly understand the challenges, needs, and the fun associated with taking care of puppies. Excited to work with all and any animals! I’m typically home 8-5 weekdays, allowing me to be consistent with taking care of your pet throughout the day. I also don’t typically have commitments during the mornings/nights which gives me lots of time to spend with your pet. As for weekends, I’ll never book if I have something going on for most of the day or if it leaves the dog alone for more than 4 hours. I’ll keep my schedule up to date so that won’t be an issue. We have a fenced in backyard but can keep your pup on a leash when we let them out if you prefer. We do have a crate if needed and I’ll have a Kong on hand if the owner is ok with their dog playing with it. Everything is up to the owner and what they want me to do in terms of specific care for their pets. Your pet’s safety is our number one priority and we will make sure they are well taken care of!

About: I've been taking care of dogs and cats since I was 8 year's old. It all started when my growing years I've always had two dogs living with me. From taking care of my own dogs, I have watched over the neighbors dogs and cats for long weekends or when the owners leave for vacation. I've had to feed, walk and play with the fur balls at least three times a day. I am not person who gets excited when I see another dog or cat in public and obviously you have to wave and say hello to them when walking by. If you want your fur babies to be treated like royalty, look no further. I am an active teacher at the moment so week days after 3:00 pm is when I am available. On the weekends my schedule is pretty open. My house is open enough where if a crate needs to be used there is space for it. I have an 8 month old kitten who is super friendly towards other animals. I will make sure your fur baby is fed, walked, hydrated and if they need to be brushed- then groomed. I will make sure the house looks exactly how you left it and will treat your house with respect.

7. Justine H.
“I have known Justine her whole life. She loves dogs and has a natural rapport with them. She is also, without question, the most responsible dog owner I have ever known. Their food and water bowls are always clean and filled, they are taken outside to play multiple times daily to play, regardless of weather, and she never forgets medication and veterinary care. I would not hesitate to hire her to care for my pets.”

10. Kimberly H.
“Kim is incredible! She has a deep love for animals and has a natural connection with them. Kim is experienced with dogs and cats, is responsible, and dependable. She shows up on time and goes above and beyond to make sure my pets are happy, healthy, and comfortable. I feel completely at ease knowing that my dog and cat are in such loving and capable hands. If you are looking for someone who treats your pets like her own, look no further. I highly, highly recommend Kim!”

11. Wendy E.
“Wendy has taken care of my Dog Charlie over the past couple of years. Sometimes she takes care of him overnight (my house or hers) and sometime it is just spending a little time with Charlie during the day. Everything has gone very well. Wendy always does a great job. She never cancels, gives me updates when I am away, and is flexible with timing and other logistical matters. The most important part is that Charlie seems to love Wendy and her family. When Charlie sees Wendy, her teenage sons or her husband, he goes bonkers. In fact, every time we walk by her house, he tries to pull me into their driveway for a visit! Bottom line is that if you are lucky enough to have Wendy watch your pet, you will not be disappointed and you wont have to worry.”
