Candace was a great sitter! Her parents were helpful as well. Cassie was in good hands and was well taken care of. We were so thankful they accommodated us picking up Cassie after our evening flight.

Best. Sitter. EVER. I've tried and been happy (or not) with many boarders, but Jody goes way above and beyond. She's not just knowledgeable and reassuring, she's sweet and kind and will love your fur babies for you. I live in Roanoke, whereas she's in Moneta. But this was such a blessing!! I wanted somewhere Harriet could run and play and feel free and happy. Jody delivers this in a big way- she has several yards of varying sizes with over animals to play with. I kept telling my girl she was going to summer camp, and it turned out to be so true. I don't think she even missed me that much! Please don't let the distance deter you. Jody even offers pickup and drop off services. Harriet gets so anxious going to a boarder's house, but as soon as Jody pulled up, Harriet started wagging her tail and jumped right in her car before I could say goodbye. She's with the dogs all the time- you won't be leaving your pup with someone who leaves them alone. Harriet is very social, and I can tell from just the pictures and videos that her physical, mental, and emotional needs are being met in every way. Please seriously consider Jody- she's phenomenal. I don't really want to tell you this because I want to keep her all to myself, but that would be a gross injustice. She's the best. I won't even consider anyone else again- I'll just move my vacation plans around.

John was such a wonderful host. Our dogs are friendly but very energetic and he was gracious and sweet with them. He walked them multiple times a day, gave them toys, and sent photos to check in with us each day. I would definitely have my dogs stay with him again and will do so next time we are in town!

This was our first experience with Cheyenne. She & her family are lovely people. They have an amazing fenced in backyard that our dogs thoroughly enjoyed. They were understanding and provided the dog bowls that I forgot to provide for our dogs thoroughly enjoyed. We will definitely ask them to care for our pets the next time we have to be out of town.

A little far out but definitely worth it for our dog to have such a wonderful farm environment to roam and play. Maribel and Carl are wonderful and so attentive to dogs in their care! They carefully acclimate your dog to their farm property and then give them the opportunity to run and frolic with other dogs (on long leads). The kennel area attached to the house is a clean secure place for dogs to rest after exercise. Big plus; they send you pictures daily of the fun and rest times your dog is having! If you're looking for an adventuresome place to leave your dog while on vacation I highly recommend Maribel and Carl's farm haven!

Samantha is great! It was the first time our Beau stayed with her. She sent photos and updates on how Beau was doing during his stay. He had other dogs he could play with and he loved that. He was happy and worn out when he came home. I will be using her again and would highly recommend her.

About: I grew up on a farm and cared for a variety of animals including cows, pigs, horses, goats and dogs. Having owned dogs my entire life and currently have 3 of my own, I am passionate about providing the best care. I can recognize the challenges of leaving your pets behind while traveling and the peace of mind that comes from knowing they are in capable and caring hands. I am committed to treating every pet I care for as if they were my own, ensuring their comfort, safety, and happiness at all times. I work part-time so I will have plenty of time to care for your pets. I live super close to numerous parks and walking trails that will allow me to incorporate regular exercise and outdoor time into your pets' schedule here. **Dog Boarding in our home means either you drop your dog(s) off at a discussed time at our home or we pick them up. It is important to be on time for your booked drop-off and pick-up time slot, as we may be accommodating others. If you are unable to be on time please let me know as soon as possible so that we are able to reschedule your time slot. WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING: -Food: Please prepackage each meal. No need to bring bowls unless they require a slow feeder. -Any item that brings them comfort. ex. blanket or bed -Medicine: ex. anxiety meds, probiotics, vitamins. Bring whatever your dog will require while they are with me. **Drop-in visits are when I stop by your home to address any needs your dog my need, such as: food/water, potty break, quick play time, medications, etc. Visits are usually 20-40 minutes depending on what needs to be done. **Dog Walking will require me to come to your home and walk your dog in your neighborhood. Please let me know in advance if your dog is a bit hesitant on new/different walk paths. (Some pets do not like to take different routes that what they are used to.)

Love love love love!!!! Kaylyn was so flexible with us while I was relocating from the east coast to the west coast. There were many hiccups and she rolled with everything so kindly. We arrived around 8:30 pm at night which isn't an ideal hour to meet a stranger and their dog. Duma has separation anxiety and they loved on him, took him on 3 walks a day, and gave him treats… needless to say, Duma was in heaven and was no longer worried about where I went. I trust Kaylyn and her family. They are communicative, kind, reliable, and trustworthy. I would highly recommend Kaylyn to anyone looking for a safe person to care for their dog.

About: I'm an active volunteer with a local animal shelter, where I work hands-on with dogs of many ages, sizes, temperaments, I have experience caring for shy, anxious, high-energy, and sensitive dogs, and I'm comfortable with reading canine body language, building trust, and providing calm, reliable care tailored to each dog's needs. Pet care is part of my regular routine through weekend availability when I'm off work. I plan my schedule around providing attentive, consistent care, including walks, feeding, enrichment and companionship, so each dog receives focused, unhurried attention. I care for pets by following their established routines as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, medications if needed, and preferred activities. I take time to build trust, especially with shy or anxious pets, by moving at their pace and reading their body language. I prioritize safety, cleanliness, and calm, attentive interaction, whether that means exercise and playtime or quiet companionship. In a client's home, I respect their space and ensure pets feel comfortable and secure in their familiar environment.

About: Hi! I’m Heather, a dependable and compassionate caregiver with years of hands on experience caring for both children and animals. As a mom of three, I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for someone you love, including your pets. We have a fully fenced in back yard where pets can safely play and explore, and we live in a quiet, private cul de sac just minutes from Smith Mountain Lake, which makes for peaceful long walks and plenty of outdoor time. I have experience with daily pet care routines including feeding, walking, playtime, and making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I’m patient, attentive, and committed to providing a calm and caring environment for every pet I meet. Whether your pet needs lots of energy and play or a quieter, gentle approach, I’m happy to adapt to their personality and needs. I treat every animal like family and would love the opportunity to care for yours! I’m a 7th grade Special Education teacher and officially off for the summer, which gives me plenty of flexibility and availability to care for your pets. I primarily offer boarding and doggy day care in my home, where pets can enjoy a fully fenced in back yard, a calm family environment, and walks through our quiet private neighborhood near Smith Mountain Lake. Providing care in my home allows me to stay present with both my children and the pets in my care, ensuring they receive plenty of attention, supervision, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. During the school year, my availability becomes more limited due to my teaching schedule, but I may still be able to accommodate certain evenings, weekends, holidays, or overnight stays with advance notice. I’m always happy to discuss scheduling needs ahead of time to see how I can help. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. We live in a quiet, private cul de sac just minutes from Smith Mountain Lake, which allows for peaceful walks and plenty of outdoor exercise. We also have a fully fenced in back yard where pets can safely play and explore. As a mom of three and a Special Education teacher, patience, attentiveness, and creating a calm environment come naturally to me. I understand that every pet has different needs and personalities, and I work hard to help them feel secure and cared for while they are away from home. I can accommodate crate training if needed, follow medication or feeding schedules closely, and provide regular updates so pet parents feel comfortable and informed. My goal is to treat every pet like part of the family.

They looked like they had a great time! Was given plenty of attention and treats. Did not appear overly hungry or thirsty when we brought them back home telling me they were given plenty of food and water. Liked that Lydia has a fenced in back yard and appreciated the daily picture updates and video without me having to ask first. Was also able to get us in last minute and was very responsive. Would highly recommend!

Jack is a finicky pup -- that's the chow in him. However, when we picked him up he was happy and healthy -- thanks to Pam and their wonderful home. Definitely will book another stay. He's 9 years old, and it's good to know he is well cared for.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
