âJody took wonderful care of our pup! I wholeheartedly recommend her as a sitter. Our puppy had an amazing time on her farm, especially enjoying the chance to play and socialize with the other dogs. Jody made sure he felt loved and well cared for every step of the way. Iâll definitely be booking with her again in the future!â

âCandace was a great sitter! Her parents were helpful as well. Cassie was in good hands and was well taken care of. We were so thankful they accommodated us picking up Cassie after our evening flight.â

I know he was happy to see us but I could tell he didn't want to leave! Thank you again for taking such great care of our big baby boy!!â

âIâm tremendously excited because I have found my fur baby an excellent sitter. Kari has been a heaven sent. It was during an emergency that I found her listed here on Rover. She created a wonderful atmosphere to care for my fur baby while I was away. She followed all my instructions and even sent a photo during his stay. He was a happy bean when I returned to pick him up. I love it, Iâll definitely keep her in mind for my next getaway.â

âAlliyah did a great job with our girls! Sheâs sweet, professional and knowledgeable. She was on board with doing a meet and greet prior to booking which was a huge help. Sheâs got two sweet dogs of her own and knows just how to ensure new dogs are best able to acclimate to her home. Definitely recommend!â

âMaribel was great with the dogs. Their facilities are clean and comfortable. They have great places to walk and play with the dogs. I would definitely board with them again.â

âThis family was a delight to work with and they were so loving with my dog. They would have happily kept him forever but I couldnât part with him. It was a huge relief to board him in a location where he received personal attention and lots of play time.â
âAllison was an excellent communicator while coordinating our pup's day care and was absolutely flexible to help us with our out-of-towner schedule, and was wonderfully attentive to our pup during his stay. Great first experience using Rover - I would recommend Allison for anyone looking for a caring dogsitter!!â

About: I'm an active volunteer with a local animal shelter, where I work hands-on with dogs of many ages, sizes, temperaments, I have experience caring for shy, anxious, high-energy, and sensitive dogs, and I'm comfortable with reading canine body language, building trust, and providing calm, reliable care tailored to each dog's needs. Pet care is part of my regular routine through weekend availability when I'm off work. I plan my schedule around providing attentive, consistent care, including walks, feeding, enrichment and companionship, so each dog receives focused, unhurried attention. I care for pets by following their established routines as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, medications if needed, and preferred activities. I take time to build trust, especially with shy or anxious pets, by moving at their pace and reading their body language. I prioritize safety, cleanliness, and calm, attentive interaction, whether that means exercise and playtime or quiet companionship. In a client's home, I respect their space and ensure pets feel comfortable and secure in their familiar environment.
âVery grateful to count on such a great person to take care of my dog, who is like a son to us. Thank you so much for your help and for always being available when we need you. I recommend her services 100% to anybody who loves their dog and is dedicated to caring for them.â

Providing care in my home allows me to stay present with both my children and the pets in my care, ensuring they receive plenty of attention, supervision, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. During the school year, my availability becomes more limited due to my teaching schedule, but I may still be able to accommodate certain evenings, weekends, holidays, or overnight stays with advance notice. Iâm always happy to discuss scheduling needs ahead of time to see how I can help. Your petâs safety and comfort are my top priorities. We live in a quiet, private cul de sac just minutes from Smith Mountain Lake, which allows for peaceful walks and plenty of outdoor exercise. If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
