“Vanessa was super friendly and took amazing care of our little girl! She sent a bunch of pics and kept us updated throughout the stay. Our little girl had a great time and came back refreshed and happy! Thanks so much Vanessa!”

“Stephanie is everything you would want in someone looking after your dog. I frequently take my senior dog over there for doggy day care or just a few hours when I need it. He just spent 10 days with Stephanie. Whenever he’s there I relax, knowing that he’s in a compassionate place with other friendly dogs to play with, and that he’s been exceptionally well taken care of, and all his needs —including special diet and meds — are being attended to.”

“Sara was amazing! She was very communicative, trustworthy, and attentive toward my 17-year-old Maltese Mix Lacy for a few days! She would regularly update with photos of her and Lacy had a wonderful time! Highly recommend!! Lacy already misses Sara and her beloved daughter!”
“My dog was so happy with John! He sent regular updates and pictures, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. It was clear my pup was well cared for and loved. I’d definitely book with John again!”

“Kerri & Harry was so great with my Shih-Poo. We were looking for someone that would make him feel like home and they knocked it out the park - I could tell he missed them on our drive home. Highly recommend them if you’re looking for a loving and safe place for your fur baby. We will definitely be using them again.”

“Jennifer was fantastic. Very flexible with drop off and pickup timing and shared lots of pictures over the course of Goose’s visit. Would definitely leave my dog with her again the next time I’m in town!”

“Leanne & Mark are awesome! This was my first experience using Rover. My previous dog sitter got a cat, which my Chloe is not a fan of, so I had to find another option. I found Leanne’s profile and she seemed like the perfect match for my Chloe. She made my vacation enjoyable by texting me pictures and updates. I definitely recommend Leanne and I will be booking with her again for my next trip.”

“Jenny and her family were fantastic with our dog, giving periodic updates and sending pictures and video. Allowing us to be at ease while on vacation. This is a very loving home. Her and her husband (and others) took great care of our dog, giving him plenty of walks and attention…he probably had a hard time leaving!”

About: I have taken care of pets my whole life so I can take care of puppies to elderly dogs. Most dogs love me and want to come play and pet. I also have a 2.5yr old son who absolutely LOVES dogs. We are happy to take care of dogs with special needs or is on mediations. We had a cat that just recently passed away and she would have been 19yrs old this year. She had asthma and we had to give her an inhaler 2x a day for 10 years. Happy to help your family with any special needs. We will love them like our own while you are away. I currently run my own business and work from home. I have a very flexible schedule so I can fairly easily adopt to your needs and help out wherever I can. I have a nice size home so your dog will have lots of free range all over the house. I live in a very pet friendly community so there are a ton of dogs around and a nice place to go walking the dog.
“Tom was an amazing sitter for my dog Charlie. He sent videos everyday and that really put my mind at ease. I could tell she was loving every minuet of being on the farm and getting to spend time with his dogs. I could tell that Charlie was treated as one of his own and that he cared about her. I would recommend Tom to anyone and if I need to leave my dog again I know she would in good hands with him. 10/10”

“Highly recommend Jia she’s truly the best sitter for your furry babies! She went above & beyond to take care of my dog. Communicated on the days we were away with picture updates which I appreciated so much. First time ever using this app & I am so genuinely happy with my dogs stay at Jia’s house! Everyday she would take her on long walks & give her so much love. Thank you again 💗”

“Aivy was amazing! I can’t say enough positive things. She took the best care of Herbie to the point I didn’t think he was going to want to come home. She sent tons of pictures and loved on him like he was her own.”

“Katie and Rooney were really great with my nervous dog, Otis. It was great to see all the pictures she sent and we will definitely book a stay with her again soon!”

“Christine and her husband are wonderful people. I had no doubt my dog was in good hands when I dropped her off. She communicated with me throughout my dog’s stay and responded quickly. She also sent me pictures and videos daily. Her husband even helped me bring the crate and bag to my car when I picked my dog up seeing that I was by myself and would have a hard time carrying it all. Very nice people :)”

“Chazz was so great! He instantly put my mind at ease about leaving my dog Zelda overnight for the first time and when I picked her up, she was calm and happy. I’d book again for sure.”

Vanessa is simply the absolute best & an incredible human! We so appreciate the care you give to Shamus & he LOVES you so much. Thank you for everything & the updates. I don’t worry for a second when my boy is with you. He has the best time staying with you & I cannot recommend you enough! See you next time!

Tom has a fantastic facility and a world of experience with dogs. There were a mix of dogs and all got along great and had huge grassy areas to run off their energy. When I ran into travel issues, his communication and flexibility relieved a ton of stress until I could get back and pick up my pup. Highly recommend, and will return myself every time.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Pemberton Heights home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Pemberton Heights.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Pemberton Heights sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
