“Kevin is a trustworthy find. We left our young Pyredoodle with Kevin while we were abroad, confident our pooch was in good, capable, safe hands. Kevin and his Great Dane, Maki, very calm and easy-going, made perfect companions for our active 2-year-old doggie. When highways were closed due to an unforeseen nor’easter, Kevin without hesitation generously offered to keep Bentley on if necessary. We love that Kevin works at home so there would be someone with Bentley in a cozy, relaxed setting, a much better alternative to boarding at a kennel, especially for a social family dog like ours who needs regular loving human interaction. We would gladly call on Kevin again.”

“Totally thrilled with the stay! A perfect home for sensitive dogs - great people and a peaceful environment. Barbara and Darryll are warm, caring people and very responsive to my dogs needs, plus sent regular updates and pictures throughout the stay. My dog is a Belgian Shepherd and can be anxious and at times reactive, but she was relaxed and quiet while staying here. It was ideal because they were home with her most of the time and kept a consistent routine for her. She found her place on a couch by the window so she could watch the squirrels in the yard, just like at home. I felt safe leaving my dogs with such kind people, thank you Barbara and Darryll! About: I’ve taken care of animals my whole life. I value the love you give to your babies, so I strive to do the same! I have taken care of a variety of animals and care for them as my own. I am experienced in administer medication and maintain a similar schedule to what you have. Research shows animals have less anxiety staying in their environment when owners are away. I strive to maintain that when you’re gone I work from home part of the time and travel the NEK the other part. I’m a social worker for my regular job but I am flexible with my schedule. I have days off on Sundays and Mondays to help with that. I follow as close to their normal schedule as you do. It helps with their anxiety and transition. If you walk them in the mornings, I will do the same. I prefer to watch animals in their home to make them more comfortable.

Both recently stayed with Gywnn for several days, and she was 100% and equally dialed into their very different needs the entire time. From the moment we first saw Gwynn interact with our two, it was clear that 1) she truly understands dogs and dog behavior, and 2) she loves dogs. That mix of professional ability and heart-felt care is a special combination, and makes for a terrific dog sitter. We'll be thrilled to send our dogs back to Gwynn when the need arises. And we know they'll love to go back, too, cause it's clear that they had a great time with Gwynn and her dog Meatball (who proved to be a wonderful host, and very effective guide on their frequent nature walks).”

About: I've been taking care of pets for two decades and will love them like I love my own. I believe the best way to teach a dog is positive reinforcement and will work with whatever routines you have established with your furry family member. I work from home 3 days per week and the days are flexible except Thursday when I have to be at my office in Montpelier. I can go home on my lunch breaks for walks on the days I'm in the office (and you're close to Montpelier) and can work from your home if I'm housesitting and you have internet. As a gal in her 40s I'm pretty low key and will be very happy spending my time with your pet in your home or taking them on adventures if that's what they prefer. I love hiking and walks and have lots of friends with dogs if socialization is something you'd like for your pup.

About: Grew up around dogs, my family has always had one in our lives. Feel I have a special bond with dogs, big and small, and rarely do I experience coming across a dog that does not warm up to me. Experienced in all forms of taking care of dogs, from walking and feeding, to playing and living with, sitting for family and friends both in their home and ours. I work full time from home but have a lot of flexibility during the day. Early mornings and evenings can be accommodated with simple planning. My family currently has an older female beagle who is sweet as can be, and very lazy. She is not aggressive towards other dogs and is fine being around dogs. We have three little children who are completely accustomed to having dogs present, and love to help with feeding and play time. We live in a small house but could accommodate 1 dog for short stays if need be, preferably small-medium sized (less than 40lbs). We do not have a fenced-in yard but live near a dog park and excellent areas for walking.

When we’re in a client’s home, we’re respectful of your space and careful to follow your routines. We pay attention to details like locked doors, leashes, and food instructions, because we know consistency helps pets feel calm and secure. About: Growing up around a wide variety of animals has given me the skills and passion needed to be an attentive and responsible carer of all kinds of pets. I've owned several dogs, cats, rodents, and horses. I was responsible for administering medications, accommodating pets with special needs, becoming attuned to various behaviors and habits, and adhering to specific individualized training methods. I'm currently working full-time from home as a customer service rep for a small, local company and mothering my 2 year old toddler (who is very gentle and respectful around all animals). I'm fortunately very flexible with my schedule and can accommodate both last-minute and long-term schedules! Being a sincere animal lover, I'm always enthusiastically willing to tend to the needs of any pets that are under my care.
