“Tonya was absolutely great with the dogs! They loved her from the minute they met her! Missed her when she was gone as well. She was so respectful of our home and going above and beyond to keep it clean! Would plan to rebook in future”

“She went above and beyond for my pets. She communicated well and followed all of my requests. I definitely felt good leaving them in her hands for a few days and will be sure to hire her again! :)”

“I would 100% recommend Erika. She was great with our anxious dog and left our house cleaner than we did. She was very communicative and provided regular updates. She is also super friendly and I felt very comfortable having her stay in our home!”

About: I've spent years caring for animals with a variety of personalities, ages, and needs. Living with a Great Dane has made me very comfortable handling large and giant breeds, and caring for my Labrador through her 17th year gave me plenty of experience with the extra patience and attention senior dogs need. I'm also experienced in administering insulin injections and following medication schedules for pets with medical needs. No matter your animal’s age, size, or routine, I'll make sure they receive attentive, compassionate care and feel right at home while you're away. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I have a flexible schedule that allows me to make time for the pets in my care. I typically finish work by 3 PM, and I also have two days each week where I work from home, giving me extra availability and flexibility throughout the day. When needed, I can also use my lunch break to check in on your pets and make sure they’re doing well. I’m available for evening and weekend care as well, allowing me to provide consistent attention, companionship, and support for your pet’s daily routine. I provide pet care in my client’s home, where I can help pets feel comfortable by keeping their familiar routines and surroundings. I understand that every pet has their own needs, so I focus on providing attentive, reliable care that includes feeding, playtime, walks, medication needs, and plenty of companionship. I’m available for weekday visits, evenings, and weekends, and I also offer daily walks and evening walks to help keep pets happy, active, and well cared for while their owners are away.
About: I have taken care of dogs and cats my entire life and love them. I have been a dog walker and pet sitter in my spare time for years as well in my down time. Now that I have relocated to South Carolina from Massachusetts I am looking to rebuild those relationships with some deserving furry friends. I am available to take your pet for walks, play dates and will board them for you. I have a beautiful, clean and spacious two bedroom apartment and have all the love in the world to shower them with. Please reach out! I am available every day for mornings, afternoon and night visits, walls and boarding! I am also available for last minute check ins late at night. My approach to pet care is rooted in two things: a lifelong love for animals and a professional commitment to reliability. Whether I am hosting a pet in my home or visiting yours, I offer a high-touch, organized service. For boarding, I focus on creating a calm, predictable environment with plenty of exercise and affection. For in-home visits and walking, I leverage my experience in property management to ensure your home is treated with the utmost respect while your pet receives my undivided attention. I am experienced with senior pets, understand the nuances of pet-friendly travel, and am committed to providing the peace of mind that comes with knowing your furry family member—and your home—are in expert hands.
About: I just moved to Charleston, but have been a pet sitter for many families in Georgia, Florida, and Colorado. I was a live in nanny for 2 years, and during that time, the family got a puppy that I helped take care of. I also have a senior cat who I rescued as a kitten. I absolutely love animals and have had many different pets throughout my life (bearded dragon, dog, cats, fish, bunnies, geckos, snake, turtle, etc.). I am a part time wedding planner and substitute teacher, so I make my own schedule. I have a 5 year old daughter that I drop off at school at 7:15am and pick up at 2:30pm, so I have the whole day to do whatever I need to do without her. She also loves pets, so if your pet likes children, she may join after school! I have a screened in patio and am on the first level in my apartment building. We have lots of trees/greenery in the complex and there are many parks nearby. If I am in your home, I will treat it just like mine. I do ask that my 5 year old daughter is welcome in your home for overnights, and she can stay in the same bed as me.
“Elise was fantastic! We have a somewhat challenging situation as our two dogs currently don't get along and have to be separated. Elise was really understanding and hyper aware of the situation, ensuring both dogs would be safe. Our dogs took to her immediately making us feel at ease. She sent a bunch of photos, walked the boys a ton and gave them the attention they needed! She stayed overnight at our house and was very respectful of our home. We will definitely be using Elise for future out of town trips!”

“This was our first time using Rover for house sitting. Tara was prompt at responding and made us feel comfortable from the first moment! She made time to come over and meet my two dogs before my husband and I went out of town and made sure she had all the information she needed for a successful weekend. While we were gone Tara remained in touch and sent us lots of pictures to show the dogs were having fun and doing well. My pups had a blast playing with Tara while we were gone and she did a wonderful job caring for them as if they were her own! I will definitely be rebooking with her in the future!”

“Jennifer was so amazing and caring with our 2 dogs. I felt completely at ease and was able to enjoy my vacation knowing that our dogs were well taken care of. She sent thorough updates and tons of pictures, which I greatly appreciated! Our dogs warmed up quickly to her and I know were sad for her to leave. I’ll definitely book with Jennifer again!”

About: I’ve lived my whole life with pets! I grew up with two cats and two dogs. Since I’ve been away at college I’ve dog sat for other friends and family! I just moved to the area! My schedule is very flexible, I have the time to care for your furry friends! I’m fully open during the week and weekends. I am a very attentive person and caring of details of how the pet needs to be cared for. Quality time with pets is my favorite part of caring for them!
“She was a wonderful sitter for our little guy! He’s an anxious dog and after her care, he’s the calmest we’ve seen. She sent plenty of photos and gave us quick replies! ☺️”

“We needed someone to stsy with our Great Pyrenees, Duncan. Rachel was amazing! Duncan loved her! She communicated with us daily. Left our home spotless. Would love to have her stay anytime!”

“James was phenomenal. Can't say more than enough. Our cat and senior dog were very well cared for. Our cat, is normally mad when I leave even for work and will hide in response but when we arrived home, he happily greeted us. Even funnier, as we settled in for the night, our dog came out lookong for him, and we know exactly where he sat because he went to that spot, sniffed around and settled there as if he was waiting for him to come back. It was very sweet and we were touched and comforted by that display (our dog normally sticks to my son when he's home). We will absolutely ask him to sit again when the need arises. Thank you 1000 times over.”

“Heidi did a wonderful job taking care of our elderly dog (Josie) who needs multiple medications at various times of the day. Heidi got the meds into her (not an easy task) without trouble, understood Josie's limitations and worked with them, and quite obviously made much of her. After just a few days, Josie was sleeping on the bed. Heidi also kept us well informed, sent us marvelous photos, and left the house spotless. We'll be calling again.”

“Madison is responsible, kind, and an excellent communicator. She took care of my dog when he was at his worst possible behavior with some stomach issues and she did not flea, and she let me know what was going on and she was patient and kind and wonderful. There is no one I would trust more.”

“My dog has a lot of anxiety around new people but she was very comfortable very quickly with Julia who did a great job of taking care of my pup. She went out of her way to come early in order to meet the dog and get an idea of her routine and communicated really well with me. I would 100% book with Julia again.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 1,532 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Parkers Ferry. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Parkers Ferry walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Parkers Ferry maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Parkers Ferry choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
