“Another wonderful experience with Kassidy! She sends us the cutest pics of the boys while we are away. We are able to relax and enjoy our time away knowing our 2 mini schnauzers are well taken care of. She’s been great and we will definitely be requesting her again :)”

About: My dog sitting has been talked very highly of every time I’ve done it! I walk my pup every single morning and would love to walk yours for you! Your pup will be so happy, they’ll seem like a puppy all over again🥰 I also used to work at a dog grooming company! Can’t wait to get to know you and your animal🫶🏻 I have dog sat many times for my friends and co workers, sometimes even weeks on end! I also have a 7 year old puppy and have been taking care of her since I have had her and walk her every single morning! I can come to you to walk your dog or you can bring them to me if more convenient! I have a nice neighborhood for them to be walked in as well!
About: I have volunteered at Kentucky Humane Society, I have grown up with 2 cats and have a dog of my own. I have experience giving baths, cleaning ears, trimming nails, going on walks, applying first aid, and giving pills. I can give special attention for dogs (and cats) that need a little more attention <3 I am available most days. I have a very flexible schedule and can do multi day sits. I hope to give your pet lots of love and cuddles! I have had a lot of experience with animals and would love to give your animal the best care they can get! hope to see you soon :)
“I was very nervous about leaving my pup and old kitty, but Travis quickly put my mind at ease. Not only did he take great care of them but he also took good care of my home. I will definitely be booking Travis for all of my future pet/house sitting needs. He was great!”
About: I have taken care of all kinds of animals, including, dogs, cats, horses, and sugar-gliders. I have three cats and three large dogs at home so I know how to handle all sizes of animals. If any sickness occurs I am good at cleaning and communicating to veterinarians if necessary. Currently, I am away at college and have classes on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Fridays. Most days I am done with class by 2pm and I recently finished soccer season so I have more free time to fill. I follow instructions provided and if I see something the pets need that are not on the instructions I will provide necessary care. I recommend doing meet and greets before scheduled home visits so I can assess any special needs the pets may have with the owners. I will take your dogs on a daily walk.
About: We have been pet owners for most of our lives. We currently have 2 cavalier King Charles dogs. We have been dog sitting for many years now and we love it. My husband and I are both retired now and have moved to Kentucky and are just starting to use the Rover platform. We stay and play not just let them out and then leave. We believe dogs get lonely too and need some extra attention when their people are away. We have a flexible schedule so we can come over as many times as you like or even spend the night with them. We also can have them come stay with us! Just ask for what you need to make sure you are comfortable knowing your pets are in great care while you can’t be there! My husband and I are both retired and love meeting new pet friends. We have owned dogs all our lives and have owned kitties in the past as well. Our animals are family member and treated as such. We have years of experience pet sitting and would love a chance to meet your fur babies We have a fenced in back yard and 2 doggies who love to play! We also have a nice neighborhood to take walks in too!! Since we are both retired we are home during the day so your babies would get loads of attention and time
“Evelyn is the best dog sitter! Our two dogs LOVE her. She sends pictures and videos which is nice when you are gone for a while! She also takes them on several long walks a day!”

“Needed a live-in sitter on pretty short notice and I am so glad I found Heidi! Murphy instantly loved her and she kept me up to date consistently on things. Would highly recommend!”

About: Hi, I'm Nolan! I'm 32 years old and I just moved back to Newburgh after living in Colorado for 10 years. My home sits on a corner lot and features a large, fully fenced backyard, providing plenty of safe space for dogs to play, exercise, and explore. I've been an animal lover my entire life. Growing up in southern Indiana, I gained hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of animals, including dogs, cats, horses, fish, turtles, hamsters, hermit crabs, and even sea monkeys. Needless to say, animals have always been a big part of my life. Today, I share my home with two wonderful dogs: Leo, my 6-year-old Labradoodle, and an energetic 1-year-old Aussie Goldendoodle. Leo is incredibly friendly, well-mannered, and obedient. After completing Level II obedience training, he went on to become a certified service dog. Beyond owning pets, I have years of experience training and working with dogs of different breeds, sizes, and personalities. I understand the importance of consistency, patience, positive reinforcement, and providing a structured environment where dogs feel comfortable and secure. When caring for your pet, I treat them like family. Whether your dog enjoys being active or prefers to relax and cuddle, I'll make sure they receive the attention, exercise, and affection they deserve. I also believe in maintaining open communication and will provide regular updates and photos so you can have complete peace of mind while you're away. Why Choose Me? ✔ Large, secure fenced yard for supervised playtime ✔ Lifetime of experience caring for animals ✔ Experience with dog training and obedience work ✔ Comfortable with dogs of all sizes and temperaments ✔ Reliable communication and photo updates - Daily ✔ Friendly dogs who enjoy meeting new friends ✔ Safe, loving, family-style environment I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! I work from home full time. If I am away from home I can accommodate potty breaks as needed. I am open to taking care of any type of dog. I can easily feel out what a dog needs and can tailor to any accommodations that are preferred. I will make sure your animal is treated as you would want it to be treated! If i'm being honest, I like animals more than humans! Our fur baby gets walked daily and sometimes twice daily depending on personal schedule. My dogs favorite is when the weather is nice enough that I can take a ride with me on the E-bike I live on a corner lot that has a large fenced in backyard with shaded areas and sunny grassy areas! Inside the cozy home the animals are welcome to sleep in doggy beds that are in the bedroom, spare/office room and one in the living room. Like I said before, I love animals more than humans and they are welcome to the couch if they are allowed to do so at home! I have had multiple pets that I have crate trained and if your dog is currently being crate trained I have a large crate to accommodate. My fence also has holes cut out for the dogs to poke their heads outside the fence at all the action going on out front! If anyone would like to schedule a tour/meet and greet please let me know. You are more than welcome to come introduce yourself and your animal prior to booking or dropping off! * I do ask that all the fur babies be up to date on vaccines. I have my pup updated on all vaccines and want the best for yours and mine!*

Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in yours, I focus on making them feel safe, loved, and comfortable. I follow any specific routines or instructions closely—from feeding schedules to favorite toys or walking routes because I know consistency is important, especially when their humans are away.

About: Since I got my first pet at age 5 (a cat), I have been about them the rest of my life!! I love all animals, especially cats and dogs, and I treat them like they are family with lots of playtime and snuggles! I work from home part-time for an Ai company so pet sitting supplements my income and I absolutely love it! I seem to befriend animals more more people but people are cool too! ;) I am up to date on many safety skills and hazards around animals, like what to do when they are hurt or what foods to keep away from them! I make sure I'm always keeping them safe and following the owners complete instructions. I also always clean up their messes while I am there and anything that needs cleaned up upon arrival will also be taken care of. For dogs, I can also do baths and brushing, walking, hiking, etc.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Owensboro walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Owensboro maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Owensboro choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
