“Lauren did a great job staying with our dog! She arrived on time, sent updates, and used patience to befriend our shy dog. When we returned home the house looked great and our dog was happy. Would definitely hire Lauren again.”

“Stephanie was amazing with my baby girl. Stephanie is very patient and truly cares about animals. She even brought my baby girl a new toy to help with any separation anxiety. I will definitely continue to use Stephanie for walks and house sitting.”

“Lindy took great care of our cat and home! She did a wonderful job with a tricky oral medication administration, and made sure he had lots of love and attention while we were away. Highly recommend her for cat sitting!”

About: I am experienced and caring pet sitter with a background in animal shelter volunteering at Acadiana Animal Aid and adoption support. Comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and personalities, I take pride in keeping pets calm, cared for, and comfortable. I have a flexible work schedule, which allows me to be available throughout the day for pet care. This flexibility allows me to provide consistent attention, timely feedings, potty breaks, and quality time with every pet. For the comfort of my cats, I’m unable to offer boarding in my home. I’m always happy to come to you instead and provide reliable, flexible care so your dog can stay relaxed in their own environment.

“Tylyn made a stressful, emotionally-draining family medical trip 100% worry-free when it came to our fur babies. Coming home to happy dogs and an even cleaner house proves that she’s great at what she does and truly loves animals! We’re very grateful for her and will happily book her in the future.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Danielle did an excellent job taking care of my special-needs baby. She was patient, attentive, and truly went above and beyond to make sure all needs were met. It gave me complete peace of mind knowing my pet was in such caring and capable hands. I’m so grateful for the love and extra care she showed, and I would absolutely recommend Danielle to anyone—especially those with pets who need a little extra attention.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats since I can remember. We have always been a family of pet lovers. Pets are more than just pets to me; they are family! I’d be happy to assist in caring for your loved ones as if they’re one of my own. I am currently self-employed and able to adjust my schedule as needed by my Rover clients. I am usually available between 7 am and 10 pm as well as for overnight/weekend sitting. I have a fenced in yard and 6 kitties at my home. Happy to help with drop ins, walks, overnights, and boarding in special circumstances.

About: Hi! I’m a passionate and experienced dog lover with over 4 years of hands on experience working at a busy doggy daycare. In that role, I cared for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. Handling everything from playtime supervision and feeding to administering basic care and ensuring a safe, happy environment for every pup. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and I’ve grown up around them, so caring for them comes naturally to me. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I treat every dog like they’re my own with patience, attention, and lots of love. Whether your dog needs a fun walk, a reliable sitter, or just some extra attention while you’re away, you can count on me to provide dependable, attentive, and compassionate care. I’m comfortable with high energy dogs, shy pups, and everything in between! I can’t wait to meet you and your furry best friend! I’m a teacher during the week, so my pet care schedule fits perfectly around that! I’m available in the afternoons/evenings on weekdays, and I have full availability on weekends, holidays, and throughout the summer. This allows me to give pets plenty of time, attention, and consistency when their owners need it most. I have a dog of my own, but I live in an apartment, so boarding in my home isn’t ideal. My dog is friendly so play dates are definitely an option if you’re okay with it! I prefer caring for pets in their own environment where they’re most comfortable. In a client’s home, I always follow all provided instructions closely and do my best to keep your pet’s routine as normal and consistent as possible whether that’s feeding schedules, walks, playtime, or any specific care needs. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and stress free while you’re away.

“Love having Allison pet sit at our house! Just made my heart so happy when she told me Miller had slept in the bed with her (he sleeps with us everyday)!! Miller has recently had a front leg amputation and we have never left him alone for longer than a grocery run and having Allison stay has definitely made it easier being able to go out of town!!”

“Abby was wonderful! She was communicative, flexible, and took excellent care of our pets when we had an unexpected overnight trip come up. We’ll definitely be asking her to housesit again!”

“Olivia was a wonderful pet sitter for our three pets, including one old dog with lots of meds to keep track of. We were so thankful to find her and will be using her again in the future.”

About: I’ve been taking care of animals since I was a kid because growing up I would always come home with new ones all the time! I have all the time to play and train dogs now because I got one of my own. I also used to work at Sherwood South Animal Emergency and Critical Care Center as a kennel attendant. So I really have a lot of hands on experience on running a kennel as well as dealing with the hurt animals in the ER. And I know a lot about medication, routines and food routines so it shouldn’t be a problem with the experience I have. If I didn’t have to move to Lafayette Louisiana, I would love to stay at the emergency hospital, but we wanted to move to a family safe area. I really had a lot of love for the animals that I took care of and was really a great experience. I’m currently working part time and can sit or board pups durning the weekdays and weekends!! From 9am to 7pm I could walk the pups. Boarding whenever!! I have a black lab puppy at the moment and train and take her for walks very often. It would be great for her to have some pups for friends we have a fence in yard and a dog park as well!
About: I care about my animals that I am with! It's my priority to fulfill their needs. I been a pet lover all of my life so this will be less of a job, more of something I love to do. Taking care of animals would be in my free time which is usually around 4 days a week. I work part time at a clinic, so it would be around my hours! I make it a priority to be there for animals and make sure they have what they need and make them feel loved and cared for.

About: I’ve loved and cared for animals for a very long time you can even say my whole life. I’ve raised cats, dogs, birds, chinchillas, even a chameleon from babies to adults. I’ve potty trained many puppies, taught them tricks, and even cared for pregnant mommas with puppies. Cats are more of my specialty though i’ve litter box trained them, taught them to walk on a leash, tamed feral cats/kittens. I also volunteer from time to time at the Acadiana Animal Aid shelter helping care for cats/dogs in need of homes. I’m currently working full-time. I work an 8 hour day normally from 8 am - 5 pm, my hours are flexible though. I also have a 1 hour lunch I can take. I’m completely free most weekends. I have a mostly fenced yard where my dog Huck loves to play, it is a little small but we make do with the space we have. My dog and cats gets fed twice a day morning/evening. If I’m caring for an animal in a clients home I can visit in the mornings/lunch/evenings depending on the care needed.

FAQs for House Sitting - Ossun
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 113 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Ossun. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ossun walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ossun maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ossun choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
