About: I’ve been house sitting and taking care of other pets since I was a girl. I love going on long walks for my own health and would enjoy taking your pup along with me! Year round weather doesn’t bother this midwest gal! I’m home full-time and with kiddos in school I have a very flexible schedule for walks and boarding. Sitting alone in a cage while you’re at work or out of town will never need to be a worry in our home. Our whole family loves having pets around and they will receive as much attention as you are comfortable with. We currently have no pets of our own, but live in a pet friendly community with a fenced in dog run a few steps from our door. If more exercise is needed, long walks are a delight for me. I am happy to meet the needs of your pup throughout the day.
“Justin was everything we were looking for to help us last minute. He was very accommodating, punctual, and had consistent communication. He took time to go over everything for our dog Kona and followed directions perfectly. I would highly recommend Justin and we will definitely be booking him again in the future!”

“Kristin was excellent. Our dog is very old and has health challenges. We were reluctant to leave her. But Kristin did a fantastic job. Our dog has always been very stressed when we come home from a trip. The one-on-one personalized care offered by this type of service helps, but the fact that Kristin worked very hard to make sure all of her needs we met and her quirks were accounted for means we will always want her to watch our “furbaby.” Her caring and communication are next level.”

About: Hi there, I’m Kaisee and I can’t wait to meet your fur babies. I’ve been working closely with dogs (and cats) for many years now. From dog sitting and grooming to working at an emergency vet clinic now, dogs have always had a special place with me. I understand that personal lives outside of the house can be hectic and that unfortunately dogs aren’t allowed everywhere we can go, I’m here to make sure your best friend/fur child will get the attention they need when you aren’t around and I promise not to spoil them too much. I can give grooming tips if needed and know how to train for basic commands, if needed. I look forward to meeting you and your four legged best friend. :) I work early hours M-F, so I am off work by 2pm and can make those early afternoon check ins. I also know that work isn’t the only thing that keeps us out of the house. Can always check in before bed time so clients can enjoy a late night out. When entering a new clients residence I am sure to keep everything neat and tidy and make sure your pet is safe and healthy. Talking in a soft voice as to not scare any pets and make sure all things are secure before leaving.
“Lacey was great! I felt like my cats were well cared for. If you know cats, you know they can be hesitant to new people sometimes but she won my over by the end and allowed pets.”

About: Having a bond with with your dog is my priority! They need to feel loved and wanted- even when you aren't at home. I've been taking care of two large German shepherds for years and I take pride in my ability to make them feel at ease and happy. I'm currently living alone and during the summer months I am available full time to drop by and check on your furry kids or house sit as needed. While working with pups is my goal, I am also detail oriented and observational to their needs as well as yours. I can walk, play with, love, care for, and protect your pets as if they were my own. They're part of the family, and deserve to be treated as such. I'm currently working part time as a caregiver in a home with 7 animals! But I love being getting to be the person someone can TRUST with their furry family. Your pet is as good as your child to me! My clients home is their safe space and I respect that! It is also their pets home, and that is almost more important to me; they deserve to be loved and cared for in their own space!
“Amazing drop-in visit! Madigan was punctual, kind, and gave thoughtful updates with adorable photos. Her care and attention to detail were exceptional. Truly trustworthy and compassionate—we’re so thankful and will rebook without hesitation!”

“Vanessa did a great job with Captain. I especially appreciated the update she provided at the end of the stay to let me know how things went. She asked great questions at the start and clearly has a love and appreciation for animals.”

“I can't reccomend Taylor enough! She took such good care of my cats and lizard while we were on vacation for a week. We have a very shy and standoffish cat and it was clear to me that Taylor made them all feel so safe and comfortable based on how willing the cats were to let her snap pics of them every day - shes a great photographer too! Great communication, punctual, flexible (thank you again for feeding and keeping an eye on our bearded dragon!), and just all around a wonderful sitter who we will absolutely be booking with again. I would trust her in my home and with my pets any day. Thank you Taylor!”

“Avery is prompt, reliable, and so caring for our cat! We trust her to take initiative if something appears off and to update us frequently. She is perfect for the job, and we can't wait to book her again!”

“Kara did an incredible job handling my anxious big boy. Talking through some things she was seeing and keeping me incredibly well informed. Her care and attention is clear to see from the moment she starts interacting to the conclusion of the visit. Many thanks Kara!”

About: I took care of my sister's dog for most of last summer and fall. I have developed strong dog-walking skills from this experience as she is quite the timid and confrontational dog. I have learned out to be extremely vigilant when walking a dog and I can read a dog's behavior as well as a human's at this point. My time management skills are par for the course and I have plenty of free time. I have plenty of free time – I have plenty of free time... there.. enough words. I have a fenced yard and beautful quiet neighborhood to walk your dog in. I can also learn the layout of any home and method for taking care of any dog by the standards of any owner within any home.
“Jocelyn is our go-to person when we need someone to care for our 2 cats! She always shows up on time, gives the cats lots of love, and provides good updates during the visits!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs but I also love cats! I am open to all animals as well. I am currently working as a pet attendant and also am K9 CPR/First aid certified. I currently work part time. I am mostly looking for weekend work during the day/afternoon! Depending on the day I may be able to do a special accommodation! I am open to any requirements you have for taking care of your pet! I am big on honesty, constructive criticism, and communication as well so there is no need to worry that your pet isn’t getting what they need!
“Katie visited our senior girl twice a day for a week while we were on vacation and she was great! Her response time was quick, and her check-in messages were thorough and left us feeling assured everything we requested while we were away was being handled as we hoped. We would definitely use her again in the future.”
“Savannah loves our dogs as her very own-just as they love her. She is always on time, actually early and makes sure to take the best care of our fur babies when we can’t be there. We will continue to book her to take care of our pups.”

“Courteney has dropped in multiple times and for multiple days to care for our elderly cat as we have traveled far and wide. We have never worried about our kitty while we were away and Courteney was on duty. She is extremely dependable, trustworthy, stays in contact regularly, and is sensitive to animals' temperament and moods. I highly recommend her without reservation!”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was 11. From running over to let out the neighbor’s dog, to pet sitting for friends & family members while they’re on vacation. I grew up in a home with two dogs, both of which I’ve helped care for and go out of my way to spoil with love. Fun fact: I’ve also raised and cared for goats, rabbits, cats, turtles, frogs, and fish. I am a full-time student, but I would love to care for (& walk!) your furry companion(s) in my spare time. I’m a firm believer that the best therapists have wagging tails! I recently adopted a German Shepherd/Labrador Retriever and I can assure you that I will care for your pet with the same enthusiasm and warmth as I do her.

Madigan did a wonderful job checking in on our kitties while we were out of town! She was comfortable with giving my elderly cat her insulin injections and oral medications and did a great job giving them to her. She wrote detailed notes about each visit, took lots of great pictures, and showed our kitties lots of love. Would recommend Madigan- she will do an awesome job taking care of your pets!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Orient. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
