“I always prefer a sitter over a boarding facility because I hate the idea that my dogs will be locked up all day. Well, we could tell by how tuckered out they were that they had ALL THE FUN at Larry’s place! He sent pictures of them playing which really put my mind at ease while out of town and he had their things all ready to go at pick up. Thank you, Larry! Bowser and Peaches say thanks too!”

“I’m so happy to have found Uriaha and his wife to watch Cooper. They took wonderful care of him and sent me updates and photos every day. Cooper has so much energy, and Uriaha made sure he got his daily walks and plenty of playtime. Having them care for Cooper gave me peace of mind whenever I needed to travel. I'm so happy to have found a true home away from home for Cooper. I highly recommend them and would gladly book with them again!”

“Tracy was fabulous! She made the boys feel right at home. She provided many updates throughout their stay so we were able to see how much fun they were having. She has one dog that is the sweetest and most gentle boy that got along great with our babies. I highly recommend Tracy and we look forward to booking with her again. :)”

“I really don’t have the words to explain how amazing my sweet Daisy did with Ms. Alicia and her husband. Ever since adopting Daisy my boyfriend and I have always been really nervous about leaving her with people that she doesn’t know. We did a meet and greet before her stay, she became attached and did very well. They did so much with her (car rides, walks, playtime), sent me pictures and videos throughout our week of being gone. We never once felt nervous or worried that our baby wasn’t loved and cared for. We are so thankful we have found the greatest dog sitter for our sweet baby. If you are looking for a fun, loving, reliable, caring dog sitter, she is the dog sitter for you.”

“Mary is fantastic! Took great care of our pup and sent pictures along the way. We were able to go on our trip feeling very comfortable and confident that he was in great hands. He wasn’t ready to leave when we picked him up! So happy to have someone we can reach out to in the future.”

“Wendy is super sweet. I could tell my cat was having a pleasant time while with her. She’s very flexible and honest. I will definitely use her services again! We have found the perfect sitter ☺️”

About: I have been a dog mom my whole life! I grew up on an animal rescue farm while also volunteering at an animal shelter. I then worked at a dog boarding facility (Pet Paradise) in college so I have endless experience caring for all kinds of pets and farm animals. I am a mom to a 17 year old American Bulldog, 11 year old Corgi, 3 year old tripawd pup and a 21 year old tarantula. I work from home full-time M-F 9-5 with minimal an flexible meetings (also my husband is home by 2pm each day). This means I have plenty of time to care for your fur babies and keep them happy while you enjoy your time away! I have more than a 1/4 acre of privacy fenced yard with trees and squirrels to chase. I also have 3 sweet dogs to make you pup(s) comfortable when they are staying with me.
About: I am a former manager at a daycare and boarding facility, I have administered diabetes shots and other medications for animals. I plan to own my own daycare boarding facility in the future. Helping others and working with animals has always been my passion, I initially went to college for veterinary but decided that it wasn’t for me that a Daycare facility was best suited for me and my personality. I currently am a manager at a restaurant I can walk pets before 5:30 am but it didn’t give the option and anytime after 4 pm. I have three friendly dogs who are very socialized they go to doggy daycare and one elderly cat who is 16 and our yard is fenced in and I live down the street from a dog park as well!

“Gissell was absolutely amazing! I just moved to the area and was heading to a family reunion when our original sitter had to cancel due to a death in the family. I was so worried about where my pups would stay, but Gissell swooped in with a quick response and immediately put my mind at ease. She treated my dogs like royalty — like they were part of her own family! They had an absolute blast, and I could tell just by how happy and relaxed they were that they truly loved being there. I will absolutely be booking with her again for all future stays. Highly, highly recommend!”

“Megan was professional, flexible, and communicative. She individualized the care of our dog based on answers to very specific questions she asked, and although our dog is adaptable to many environments, that made us feel like she cared and wanted to give our dog a good experience. Will use her again!”

About: I've had my own dogs since a young age. I currently have 2 dogs, so pet care is part of my daily routine. I have a spacious fenced in yard and pups are walked daily. I'm home a lot and I have my own pets to tend to. I own a local home service business so I have a very flexible schedule. I have a good sized fenced in yard, extra kennels, and extra seperate rooms if needed due to dog aggression. Dogs are always let out to potty throughout the day, plenty of engaging play time, and daily walks.
“We couldn't have found a better place for our pup to be! Austyn sent daily pictures and updates and our dog loved having such a big fenced in yard to play in! Great experience, will definitely be rebooking with Austyn !”

About: Hey pet parents! My name is Skyla & I am genuinely one of the biggest dog lovers you will EVER meet. 🐾🤎 Why board with me? I love having dogs stay with me and want them to feel as comfortable as possible while you’re away! ALL dogs get plenty of attention, walks, and lots of playtime in my fully fenced yard. I have plenty of toys and treats, and they’re welcome on the furniture and encouraged to make themselves at home. Each dog will also have their own dedicated doggie bedroom to sleep and relax in. I keep crate time to a minimum, so they’ll spend most of their time out with me playing, on a walk, hanging out with or without my resident dogs, or getting some rest. Your dog doesn’t have to be dog-friendly to stay with me. If they’d rather play with me, have their own space, or do their own thing, that’s completely fine! I’m happy to give each dog the kind of attention they’re most comfortable with. For everyone’s safety, dogs must be housebroken, crate trained, flea-free, and comfortable around people. I treat every dog like they’re part of the family and will make sure they get lots of love and attention while they’re here! I also have a boarding FB page if you’d like to check me out further: The Dog House Pet Boarding All dogs get daily exercise + play time & mental stimulation…this includes walks around the neighborhood. My job is very flexible so I am home most of the time. I do have crates available for your dog to stay in if you wish. My home is furnished with plenty of dog toys and treats, so your pup will always be occupied! Fresh water is always available. My pets are allowed on the furniture, so your dog will feel at home.
“Our senior pups had a great time with Debra! She sent tons of pictures and updates. She totally put our minds at ease about leaving them. We will definitely use her again in the future!”

“Sara was absolutely amazing with my Shih Tzu, Chloe. From the moment we met her, her personality was so warm and kind, and it immediately made me feel comfortable leaving Chloe in her care. She kept me updated and treated Chloe like she was her own. It meant so much to hear that everyone fell in love with Chloe while she was there—it reassured me that she was getting lots of love and attention. I’m so grateful for the care Sara gave her and would absolutely trust her again in the future. Highly recommend! 🐾💛”

“I needed a person who was going to welcome my fur baby into their home and treat them as it was their own pet. Daisy went above and beyond the call of duty with Gizmo. Daisy is from now on the person I will contact to care for my dog.”

“Justine was a loving person! She send me updates about benz even worried about benz not eating because he gets excited so he forgets to eat, ask me what she can do to help so he can eat and took care of it ?? Alexandra was wonderful for my Darla! She saved me with a last minute booking when my other pet care fell through. She communicated each day I was away with messages and pictures so I could see how Darla was doing. I will definitely keep her first on my list next time I need a dog sitter!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their O'Neil home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your O'Neil.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your O'Neil sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
