“Angela was very punctual with her visits. I can’t believe my tortie came out for her! That is no small feat! So happy with her service! Hank (our dog) who we worry about being stressed, was just fine when we came home. So nice to come home to happy animals!”

“If I could leave 10 stars I would! Kyliegh is great with Dallas. I was very stressed about finding someone to walk him and spend some time with him while I work but Kyliegh has made all of those fears disappear. Dallas can be difficult and at times even intimidating but she didn’t give up and made sure she did all she could to make Dallas comfortable. I would highly recommend Kyliegh! I have 0 complaints!”

About: As a certified dog trainer, I provide structured, positive reinforcement-based training tailored to each dog’s needs. I also offer safe and enjoyable walks, ensuring dogs get both physical exercise and mental stimulation. I’m skilled at reading canine body language and behavior, which allows me to provide calm, engaging, and stress-free experiences for each dog I work with. Whether it’s training sessions, walks, or enrichment, I treat every dog with care, understanding, and empathy. My client hours are Tues.-Fri. from 12 to 8 pm, and Sat. 12 to 3 pm (excluding holidays). As a professional dog trainer, I love spending quality time with pets each day. In addition to caring for my own animals (two dogs, a cat, and several chickens!), I work with shelter dogs and training clients, giving me extensive hands-on experience with dogs of all ages and temperaments. I love providing safe, attentive, and empathetic care, whether it’s through training sessions, walks, drop-ins, or enrichment activities. I offer in-home training sessions, Adventure Training sessions, and walks, always making the safety, comfort, and well-being of every pet a priority. All training is based on positive reinforcement (R+) methods, ensuring dogs feel motivated, engaged, and confident while learning. During walks, I make sure each dog is leashed, closely monitored, and walked in a safe environment. Communication is a top priority—I provide updates on behavior, progress, and next steps, so you can rest assured that your pet is in capable, attentive, and compassionate hands. All walks include loose-leash reinforcement.
About: I’ve taken care of everything from small cats to wolf dogs. I will be able to take care of your pets, they will be happy with me. I typically only work in the early morning at my regular job so I will have plenty of time for your furry babies. I can either stay with them or do check ins a few times per day. I care for your pets by going by whatever schedule or rules you set out. No matter what, I will do my best to make sure they are happy and safe.
“Jacqueline was awesome! Super responsive and sent great updates. My girl can be a little shy with new people but she took to her instantly and was super comfortable. Made our little get away a lot less stressful knowing Lily was loved and happy. Would definitely recommend her for sure. Thank you!”

“Thank you for keeping me updated during your visits. We appreciate the time you took for the meet and greet, and for your warm and friendly demeanor towards Chief. You were so responsive to our questions and messages 😁”

“I am so happy to have found Vanessa on Rover! She has come each day we agreed upon punctually, has followed my instructions on what each of my dogs needed perfectly and always follows up with a short text assuring me that "all is well" with my 2 pups before she leaves. Most importantly Riley and Shamus LOVE her. I will be using her professional dog sitting services in the future?”
“Janyl was professional, knowledgeable and helpful. She's basically a cat expert. Not only did she take perfect care of my 2 cats while I was away, she also gave me a lot of helpful advice on cat behaviors, and how to introduce my new stray cat to my resident cat. We had a great meet and greet, and she eased all my worries. She left thorough (and entertaining) communication every day, and made me feel a lot better about leaving my cats at home without me. I highly recommend booking Janyl for your kitties!”

About: I have grown up around pets my whole life! Dogs, cats. I loved getting to know them all and take care of them. There personalities are all different much like a human and I am always excited to see who they really are. I am looking to get a part time job within the next two weeks. So more than not I will be able to watch and play with my new friends more! I have been around many dogs before even ones that are more aggressive. Over time I have started to learn the signs of two dogs who are uncomfortable with each other. I would never leave a dog with another dog that isn’t comfortable. I can crate the dog or have them there at different times.
About: I’ve always had a love for animals and have had pets of my own ever since I was born! Neighbors, friends, and family members have relied on me for years to stay at their homes with their animals, check up on them, and ensure they are being fed and well cared for while they are away. I treat each animal like they are my own and provide the care that they so deserve! I’m currently only working part time this summer so I will have plenty of time to care for your pet throughout the day! Whether it be stopping over for a quick visit or staying over night I have a lot of flexibility and availability in my schedule. Due to having 2 cats of my own and a small apartment, I am unable to keep an animal overnight in my home. However, if I were to stay overnight in a client’s home I would be sure to follow the exact directions that are given to me in order to provide the best possible care for their furry children.
“Kayla was flexible with taking care of my guinea pigs in addition to my cat. The house was cleaner than I expected upon return since the shavings/hay can get dusty but Kayla obviously put in the extra time to sweep up. There were a few communication gaps (was not notified that kibble was running low until the bag was down to its last feeding, use of Rover cards only without any actual updates on pet status) but overall I am happy with my first use of this website for pet care.”

About: I grew up with two cats, so I love cats as well as dogs. In 2019, I adopted an incredibly loving, gorgeous lab pit named Lucy, and she keeps me very active every day! She was a rescue dog, and although we were originally fostering her, I bonded with her too much to let her go. I’ve always been a natural introvert and have been drawn to the compassion of animals. I believe we can learn more about our own humanity through caring for animals. I look forward to meeting your amazing furry friends! In addition to Rover, I substitute teach right now, and this allows me to have a very flexible schedule. It's closer to part-time than full-time. My priority is to listen and adapt to each client’s needs/preferences, so that both the client and their pets will be as happy as possible.
“Thomas was wonderful with our two kitties. He checked in on them daily and provided us with pictures and updates that were so appreciated. He truly has a gift with our four legged friends!”

About: I have had animals since I was born, I’ve always had a dog growing up and I also had two bunnies for around 9 years. I currently also have a cat. I’ve grown up around all types of animals, my grandma has always had cats, sheep and chickens. I take care of a cat everyday at my own house and I help my parents take care of my childhood dog at least once a week. I am very kind and patient and I will love your animals for you and make sure they are well taken care of as if they were my own.
“Nichole did a excellent job, commucated everyday even went above and watered some plants that needed it. Cats were well taken care of while we were gone. Nichole even checked in with us to see if we made it back and offered to drop in if we hadn't arrived home yet. Definitely will be using her in future.”
“Cassie took amazing care of my cats while we were away! She kept us updated daily with reports and pictures and gave them some extra attention. I came back home to two happy and healthy cats!”

“So thrilled we found Mary! My pup warmed up to her immediately! It's very apparent she has a true love of animals. She really gives my pup some quality activity and play during her drop in visits. Will definitely use her in the future when the need arises.”

“Meghanne is awesome! I always know that she will take good care of my girl when I am away and I don’t have to worry about a thing. She is reliable and always lets me know how she is doing.”

She did such a wonderful job taking care of my babies. The litter box and backyard were clean, and she even cleaned up the toilet paper my cat decided to drag around LOL. My babies were happy when I came home, so I'm happy. I definitely recommend Kyleigh and plan to book with her the next time I go away.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Oneida. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
