About: Your doggos would be cared for as I would want my doggie to be cared for, thats 1000% certain. It is the golden rule I live by. I’ve had experience training puppies and sitting for them for weeks! I’d love to dog sit your doggos anytime! I’m off work this summer, so I am able to dog walk/sit anytime! That being said I would be able to work with your timelines! I make sure I get the ground rules on how the pet owner would like me to do and care for the pet. I know everyone has their own preferences on how to care and handle their pets, so I would respect and honor it. If I am in their home, I would be respectful and clean as it is their home and I would be a guest.

I reached out to Alison when I was sick and unable to walk my dog, Ace, and she responded right away. She was kind, friendly, and very reliable throughout the booking. Ace absolutely loved her—every time he came back from a walk, he didn't even want to come back inside! It gave me great peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. I would definitely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and dependable dog walker. 🐾💕

Sharon was incredible! Super responsive, on time, and very accommodating. Our dog Milo loved her very much and we were very happy with Milo being in good hands while we were away! She even bought her dog so Milo had a playmate and walking buddy. Couldn’t be happier with her services and will be using her again every time we are out of town!

About: I am a former animal care specialist at Pet N’ Play Luxury Resort, when I was living in upstate NY. Currently living in Staten Island Richmond County, and at the resort I supported cats and dogs for overnight stay at our daycare, as well as the veterinary hospital next door (Middlehope Hospital)! I worked with animals for playtime, feeding, laundry, cleanup, walks, and maintained their health and wellness report cards everyday. I have supported puppies at least 4 months old, blind, deaf, and senior dogs. CATS: I’ve taken care of cats at the hospital, and as a Walden Humane Society Volunteer! Love all cats, but I can only stay at the home if they are hypoallergenic :o at the moment i have open availability besides Wed, Thurs, and Sundays. i offer dog walks, drop-in, and staying in the pet’s home to offer care! feel free to contact me if you have further questions :) I’m not able to bring pets to my residence, I love to spend time with dogs through use of toys or companionship, walks, talking to them, petting, being by their side, or inviting them to sit with me!

About: Hi! I’m Ashley! A loving and dependable pet sitter with almost a year of experience and happy client reviews. I treat every pet like family and always make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I work full-time Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, which means I’m fully available for afternoon and evening walks during the week. I also have open availability on weekends! Pet care fits perfectly into my schedule as I genuinely enjoy spending my free time outdoors and bonding with animals, so being a dog walker is something I look forward to, not just a side gig When caring for pets in a client’s home, I always follow their routine closely to help their pet feel safe and comfortable. I make sure to stick to feeding schedules, follow any special instructions, and give them plenty of attention, playtime, or calming care depending on their needs. I respect the space I’m in, keep things tidy, and treat each home and pet with the same care and respect I’d want for my own. Clear communication and trust are super important to me, so I always keep owners updated and in the loop!

About: I've been caring for animals since I was 10 years old. I cared for my own dog for 17 wonderful years, giving me experience with every stage of a dog's life, including senior care. I currently have two cats who are turning one at the end of July, and I've also fostered a pit bull/Dachshund mix. In the past, I cared for a rabbit for 8 years and have pet sat and walked my sister's dog, my grandma's Dachshund, and cared for multiple cats and other animals. I truly love animals and treat every pet like they're part of my family, making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you're away. I currently work part-time as a nanny for a 6-year-old child two days a week for a few hours, and I'm also a part-time nail technician. I'm looking to fill my schedule with pet sitting and dog walking, and I have a lot of availability during both weekdays and weekends. Since my work schedule is consistent, I know my availability well in advance, making it easy to plan and accommodate bookings. I also have reliable transportation and can travel to your home if needed. Here's a professional and friendly response for the Safety, trust & environment section: I understand that every pet has unique needs, and I'll always follow your care instructions to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Whether I'm caring for your pet in your home or taking them for a walk, I'll provide plenty of attention, exercise, and affection while maintaining their regular routine. I have reliable transportation, can handle pets of different sizes and personalities, and I'm happy to send regular photo and text updates so you can have peace of mind while you're away. Your pet's safety, happiness, and well-being will always be my top priority.

About: I previously worked as a veterinary technician, which gave me hands on experience caring for animals of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I’m very comfortable handling both healthy pets and those that need extra attention or senior care. I’ve also had pets my entire life, so caring for animals is second nature to me. I’m patient, attentive, and able to quickly understand each pet’s unique needs, whether that’s exercise, medication support, or simply making them feel safe and comfortable. Pet care fits naturally into my routine since I have three cats and a pitbull at home. I’m flexible and already plan my days around feeding, cleaning, and care. I enjoy making time for walks, visits, and keeping pets comfortable and on schedule. In my home, I care for pets by maintaining a clean, safe, and calm environment, following feeding schedules, and giving consistent attention and affection. I have experience with cats and a pitbull, so I understand different temperaments and energy levels. In a client’s home, I respect their routines, follow all instructions closely, and make sure pets feel comfortable, secure, and cared for while their owners are away.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
