Victoria appears to have a great personality and was very respectful of our multi-pet home. She took our home/pet care instructions seriously and did a great job at keeping 5 cats and 2 guinea pigs taken care of over multiple days. I'm much more impressed that she spent the full 30 minutes or sometimes a little longer to finish up her drop-in; others have not. I would certainly recommend.

Mary did a great job checking in our cats while we were away! Our cats are very shy, and she took the time to find them and take a pic for us to make sure they were ok. By the end she had them coming out to see her during the visit. Would highly recommend!

Anna has been wonderful dropping in to visit with my pup! She has been very good with communicating me with and always sends me photos & videos of her time with him. Anna did so well getting Ash to be comfortable with her and I can tell her visits with him are helping him through this rough patch with me being gone several days a week for long periods of time. He has separation anxiety and the mental health breaks during the day are so beneficial for him. I cannot say enough how great Anna has been for him and with him. Thank you, Anna! You are making a big difference for both Ash and I!

About: I’ve checked in on multiple pets before. Friends and my own family and relatives message me to come in, walk their dog, feed and give them water, and keep them company for a while! I love pets so when I found out I could get paid for it, I was astounded! I’ll care for your pets as if they were my own, with tender love and care. I am a working college student at the moment, so I would be working part time. I would make time for my clients though, especially how I often have time in between my classes and I also have time after school during the week and on weekends. While I currently do not offer pets in my home, I will respect your home by keeping it clean and untouched by the time I leave. Now I will keep your pet company if that is the service you’d like and by doing so, we might empty their toys on the ground and play for a bit. That being said, it will be cleaned up and so will messes made by their food or water before I leave the house as well.

About: I’ve had the joy of caring for dogs and cats throughout my life, and both of our beloved pets lived long, happy lives before passing away from old age. While my family and I aren’t quite ready to welcome another pet into our home just yet, I’d love the opportunity to care for yours. I also have a 9 year old daughter who absolutely loves animals and enjoys helping me give them extra love and attention when she’s with me. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs. Whether your pet needs a walk, a drop-in visit, or companionship while you’re away, I’ll provide them with the same love, patience, and attention I’d give my own. I work five days a week and am available after 4:00 PM, with flexible availability for walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting every single week. I respect your home and your pet’s routine. I’ll carefully follow all feeding, medication, walking, and care instructions while keeping your pet comfortable and stress free. You’ll receive regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by dogs since I was little, from tiny friends to big, gentle giants. I’ll treat your pets like they’re my own and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I’m dependable and will send timely updates so you can feel at ease knowing your pets are in good hands. Neighbors, family, friends, and even strangers have trusted me with their pets for check-ins, walks, feeding, playtime, and more. I can’t wait to meet you and get to know your pets! Tammy did a great job with my little ones and even though there were some extra things that Tammy had to do (my little Lilly had an injury), Tammy handled the extra tasks beautifully!! She even got my little stubborn king of the castle (Rocky) to go back in his room with the others. Tammy was very punctual and I would highly recommend her!!

About: My name is Matthew and I’ve been around dogs my entire life and currently have a 100lb Labrador who’s not just my pet—he’s my best buddy. We walk, hike, play, and explore every day, rain or shine! I understand how much your furry friends mean to you, and I’ll treat your dog like one of my own—with love, patience, and plenty of exercise. Whether you need regular walks, help on busy days, or just want your pup to get some extra attention, I’m here to help! Reliable. Experienced. I currently work full time from home but I’m very active so I keep my dog active with me. We are up at 5am everyday going for runs/walks. On breaks we always get outside to enjoy the weather and allow him to use the bathroom if needed. After work if I’m not busy I love to take him to the dog park or on another walk around the neighborhood. So I’m available every weekday from 5am-8am and after work from 6pm-9pm I have a big open yard that I have an electric fence for my dog to go out as he needs with or without me. When leaving the yard he gets his harness put on and a leash with poop bags. We walk on the sidewalk at all times. We stop and sit before looking to see if we can cross the road.

About: I grew up with dogs and cats as pets, so have lifelong experience caring for animals. My family owned a small farm for a period of time, so I also gained experience with horses in addition to cats and dogs. We owned a German Shepard and a cockapoo, so I do have direct experience with both smaller and larger dogs. In high school, I took 4 years of animal science, which further advanced my knowledge of pets and gave me hands on experience in a pre-veterinarian science atmosphere. I plan on returning to school in the near future to further my studies in the animal sciences field and pursue a career as a Veterinarian Technician. I have had a life full of loving animals and live to care for them any way I can.

About: Hello all, I've owned cats, dogs, and horses for over 20 years now and was their main caregiver starting at 8 y.o. I've worked at many horse barns and pet sitter for many many friends over the years. I have skills in pet healthcare (administering medication, baths, cutting nails, etc), young animals, dog & horse training, rescue animals, and elderly animals. I do my best to provide stress free care for your pets. I am currently working from home full-time! So there is always someone around to take care of your pet! My husband and I mostly like to relax and unwind at home with the occasional dinner date or movie, but are flexible and will be upfront with owners if their pet’s needs cannot be met! When pets are in my home, I always take note of the their state of wellness, looking for stress or anything out of the ordinary. I also will inspect the environment to ensure dangerous items (small items/chocolate/other) are out of reach. While we do not have a fenced in backyard we do have a lunge line that will allow your pet to enjoy running around in the backyard but provides a limit so pets do not go near the back alley road! I make sure pets have access to water at all times. I am able to administer medications easily whether it is as simple as pill pockets or even injections. We also have two dogs of our own as well as a cat! Geordi is a 10 year old Australian Cattle dog who is energetic but respects other pets space, Thor is a 1 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi who loves other playmates, and Wynnona is that our 4 year old cat who tends to mind her own business!

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my lifelong experience with animals and the genuine love and patience I bring to every pet I care for. I have been around animals my entire life, so I understand that every pet has their own personality, needs, and routine. I also have experience caring for senior dogs. My own dog has since passed away, but I helped care for him throughout his later years, which taught me the importance of patience, attentiveness, and providing extra comfort and support. Because of this experience, I am comfortable giving medications, helping pets stick to their routines, and making sure they feel safe and loved while their owners are away. When caring for pets, I make sure they get plenty of exercise, playtime, attention, and affection. Whether that means going on walks, playing fetch, providing  activities, sticking to feeding schedules, or simply spending quality time cuddling and keeping them company, I treat every pet as if they were my own. My goal is to make sure both pets and their owners feel comfortable, confident, and cared for. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily and weekly routine. Since I am currently a college student and school is out, I have a lot of free time and a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of attention to the pets in my care. I also work as a babysitter, but Rover is my top priority job. I make sure to schedule my time carefully so that every pet receives the care, attention, exercise, and companionship they need. Whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, cleaning up after them, or simply spending quality time together, I am committed to providing reliable and attentive care. Because of my flexible availability, I can easily accommodate different routines and help pets feel comfortable and cared for while their owners are away. I currently have three cats who, despite not paying rent, are very well taken care of! Caring for them is a big part of my daily routine. I make sure they receive their daily feedings, fresh water, interactive playtime, plenty of attention, and daily litter box cleanings to keep their environment clean and comfortable. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their established routines as closely as possible so their pets feel safe and comfortable. This includes feeding, refreshing water, cleaning litter boxes, playtime, administering medications if needed, and providing lots of love and companionship. I understand that every pet has unique needs and personalities, so I take the time to get to know them and make sure they feel cared for while their owners are away. My goal is always to provide dependable care, maintain a clean environment, and treat every pet as if they were my own.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
