Lauran is an absolute dream of a companion, house sitter, fur baby manager and lover, and just overall great human. Lauran was thoughtful, responsive and responsible in every way. From sharing pics of our Simon and Molly with us, to asking questions of us as needed, to her bubbly and positive personality, to her attention to detail, she will be our go to person every time we need someone who we trust to spend time at our home and with our pups. We came home to a house nice Ethan we left it a two dogs that were clearly well taken care of while we weee away. Thank you Lauran for being such a great Rover sitter! Thank you Lauran for giving us such peace found and comfort as we traveled.

Joanna is the best! She stayed with our dog for just under a week in our home and took the best care of her. Our pup has pretty severe separation anxiety and requires medication and Joanna made sure she was comfortable and cared for. Sent lots of pictures and daily updates. When we got home, our house was spotless and just as we left it. We will definitely be using her services again!

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life but within the last 2 years I worked at WMK9 out of Covington. Which is a dog training and boarding company. I’ve learned to properly train and take care of other peoples dogs. But my previous dog was a diabetic, so I constantly gave him vetsulin (dog insulin) twice a day. I work at Kroger and usually work 1-9, I do it about 5 days a week during the summer. I get my schedule for the next week Sunday-Saturday on the current weeks Friday. But with that said I don’t mind staying at someone else’s house. I am a very big believer in karma, so you don’t have to worry about not trusting me. I promise I will do my best to make sure your animal is comfortable with the circumstances given.

We recently had the pleasure of having Gabriella care for our dog, Mo, while we were out of town for five days visiting our son and his family. She was absolutely wonderful! Gabriella not only watched Mo, but also housesat for us, which gave us tremendous peace of mind. She showed a kind heart and genuine love for animals, paid close attention to detail, and asked thoughtful questions to fully understand Mo’s routine. She followed every instruction perfectly and went above and beyond—playing with Mo, taking him outside, brushing him, and sending us regular picture updates so we could see how happy he was while we were away. On top of caring for Mo, Gabriella kept the house clean and orderly. Her positive attitude, responsibility, and reliability made the entire experience stress-free. Most importantly, Mo clearly adored her—it was obvious he felt loved and cared for. We highly recommend Gabriella to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive, and compassionate pet and house sitter. We couldn’t be happier with the care she provided!

This was my second time booking with Lauran, and once again she was absolutely wonderful! Having someone I can trust with my two cats gives me so much peace of mind while we're away. She kept me updated with photos and messages, made sure my cats were well cared for, and even managed to earn the trust of my very shy cat, which says a lot! It's clear she genuinely cares about the animals she looks after and goes above and beyond to make sure they're comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring pet sitter!

Madison was excellent. She helped us out with both our dog and cat with a very last minute request. She was very responsive and easy to work with and clearly has a lot of pet experience. I had zero hesitation leaving her with the house and the pets. As expected, the furry kids were happy and the house was in perfect order upon our return. I will definitely reach out to Madison again!

Avery came to our home to sit with our 4-legged babies for a couple of hours. We don’t really leave them home alone but we both needed to be gone at the same time and other sitters we’d previously used were not available. It was pretty expensive for a few hours but we were grateful she could do it on just a few days notice. Avery was prompt in arriving, friendly, good with the dogs, and sent a pic during the time she was there. I would not hesitate to book her again if needed.

We were traveling in Louisville and needed someone to watch our two dogs at the hotel while we attended an event. Other than family, we have never used anyone or service to watch our dogs. When doing anything, I factor in how it will impact our dogs. Their well-being is the most important thing. To say I was nervous is a massive understatement. Brittany was absolutely wonderful! Our 11-year-old shepherd can be a little anxious in new environments, and our 8-year-old is usually cautious around strangers. Within minutes, Brittany had both of them relaxed and comfortable, which was such a relief. She not only cared for them with patience and kindness but also kept us updated with photos throughout the evening, which helped me stay at ease. It was clear that they were happy, safe, and well-loved in her care. We were thrilled with the experience and so appreciative of her attentiveness. I would highly recommend Brittany to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate, and reliable dog sitter. She truly went above and beyond!

FAQs for House Sitting - Old Brownsboro Place

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 747 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Old Brownsboro Place. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Old Brownsboro Place walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Old Brownsboro Place maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Old Brownsboro Place choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Old Brownsboro Place. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 99% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
