Safety, trust & environment
Safety and care are always at the heart of what I do, both on walks and within my home. As a devoted dog mom and longtime KY Humane Society volunteer, I know how important it is to protect pets while giving them loving attention. Our home is fully set up with your pet’s safety in mind—we have a secure fenced-in backyard for exercise, dog-proofed rooms, and baby gates to create safe, comfortable spaces. I closely monitor every pet, avoid unsafe situations, and tailor care to each animal’s age, energy, and temperament. From harness checks to reading body language, I ensure your pet feels secure, loved, and happy. Friends and family have trusted me with their pets for years, and I will treat yours with the same care and attention as my own.
Information Avery & Drew H. would like to know about your pet
To provide the best care possible, I like to learn about your dog ahead of time. Please share details about their feeding routine (what they eat, portion sizes, schedule, and any allergies), as well as whether they take any medications and how/when those should be administered. I also ask for the name of your veterinarian and preferred emergency contact information, just in case. It’s helpful to know how your dog does on walks — including preferred equipment (harness, Easy Lead, collar), whether they walk best with treats, and how they respond to other dogs or distractions. Please let me know about any reactive behaviors, known triggers, and the most effective ways to redirect or calm them. Lastly, share what commands or tricks they know so I can maintain consistency in training and communication. The more I understand your dog’s routine and personality, the more comfortable and confident they’ll feel in my care.
A typical day
A typical day with us is structured, enriching, and full of love. We incorporate about two enrichment activities each day — whether that’s a puzzle toy, Kong, treat dispenser, or another brain game — to keep minds sharp and engaged. We go on neighborhood walks for exercise and fresh air, and when the weather is nice, we spend time outside working on our agility course for both physical activity and confidence building. After play and training, we balance it all with plenty of downtime — lots of couch snuggles, affection, and focused attention. It’s a healthy mix of mental stimulation, physical exercise, and calm companionship.

Pet care experience
I’m a proud dog mom who knows firsthand how much peace of mind it brings to have someone you can trust with your furry family member. As a veteran volunteer at the KY Humane Society, I’ve spent years helping with behavior, enrichment, and adoption, giving me experience with dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and needs. Beyond volunteering, I routinely care for friends’ animals and treat each one with the same love, patience, and consistency I give my own. Whether it’s a high-energy pup who needs long walks, or a shy dog who needs gentle encouragement, I’m ready to meet them where they’re at. Your pet’s safety, wellness, and happiness are always my top priorities, and I look forward to giving them the care, attention, and adventures they deserve.

Reviews

Avery came to our home to sit with our 4-legged babies for a couple of hours. We don’t really leave them home alone but we both needed to be gone at the same time and other sitters we’d previously used were not available. It was pretty expensive for a few hours but we were grateful she could do it on just a few days notice. Avery was prompt in arriving, friendly, good with the dogs, and sent a pic during the time she was there. I would not hesitate to book her again if needed.

They were amazing with Boseman and were incredibly responsive. I appreciate them for taking Bosey in at the last minute. He was living his best life. They had treats and enrichment activities. He came home tired! Will use again

Avery was great! We had a last minute request and she was very quick to respond. We appreciate how detailed she was with the pups’ Rover card too. We’ll definitely reach out to her for future pet sitting needs.

They took great care of Oscar. He was happy and healthy each time I came home, and I couldn’t ask for more! Communication was top notch and I loved getting pictures from Oscar’s walk. Will definitely keep them in mind again for future bookings!
