“What a relief to be away and know that Dasher was in great hands. He always before takes time to warm up and come out of his safe place but with Vicki she somehow got him out fist thing. Thanks Vicki for all the great pictures and taking care of him.”
“We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Shaughnassy. She cared for our three cats during a week of home visits, and she was truly exceptional. From the very beginning, her communication was top-notch—she kept us updated daily with messages, photos, and little notes about how each cat was doing. It gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She was incredibly sweet and patient with our cats, each of whom has their own quirky personality. It was clear they were comfortable and well cared for—honestly, we think they miss her already! She made sure they were fed on schedule, cleaned the litter boxes thoroughly, and even took time to give them affection and attention. Most importantly, she was completely reliable—we never had to worry about a thing. Knowing she was looking after them let us relax and enjoy our time away. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, kind, and professional to care for your pets, we couldn’t recommend Shaughnassy more highly. She’s a gem!”

“I trusted Summer with doing pop-ins on my 5 year old domestic long-hair cat, and I will not hesitate to do so again in the future. Summer provided me with updates and photos to let me know that my precious lil baby was being properly looked after, and getting the attention and playtime I could not provide while away.”

“We had an amazing experience with Karissa who watched our best friend Jango, while we enjoyed boating and hiking in Yosemite. Bottom line, Karissa went above and beyond in all ways, even accommodating Jango’s quirky habits like him not enjoying walking on ANY sort of gravel 😂 and some last last minute adjustments to the schedules. Can't recommend Karissa enough to anyone seeking a trustworthy, caring and dependable dog sitter!”

About: I am a lover of all animals and enjoy caring for them. I have had dogs since I was a little girl and even raised and homed two litters. I have had tortoises, a goat, and currently have some chickens along with my 2 dogs and 2 cats. I used to house/pet sit for friends and for clients from Rover but due to having children and my own pets I am only available for services at my house. I have looked after dogs, cats, horses and even a bird before but I am also open to other species. * I am gone once or twice a month in Southern California for 4-5 days so sometimes I am unable to commit to far in advance requests until I know what my schedule will be as it gets closer. I work from home starting at 8:00 - 4:30 but work in person every other Friday so I would be gone for a good portion of the day on those Fridays. Guests can come inside and outside as they please, I can separate from my dog if needed as well. My fence is new and sturdy, have had no issues with dogs getting out yet.
About: My life is surrounded by animals, and that's the way I like it! I have been working with animals since I was 2 years old if not younger. I started out assisting in rehabilitating wildlife, which never left. I trained several dogs, from showmanship, to basic training, and even as a personal service dog. I have won several best of shows in showmanship. My daily routine is as follows: wake up, get coffee, wake birds up and let them out, let dogs out, feed cats, dogs, birds, make breakfast, hang out with the animals and wake up, eat lunch, clean house while incorporating working with the animals, bath time!, make social media content with the animals, start dinner with the animals, feed animals their foods, snack time, hang out with family, put everyone to bed, goodnight! I treat my animals better than I treat myself 😅 people/souls that can't help themselves, I've always had a place in my heart for, and I always do my best for them.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Oakhurst. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
