“I highly recommend Anton as a sitter. We left our dog, Frankie with him for about 3 days and he was amazing. He provided regular updates. We have left our dogs with other sitters before but with Anton we never had to worry about how our dog was doing because he sent updates multiple times a day and this allowed us to enjoy our vacation without any stress. He was so easy to work with and flexible with the pick up and drop off times when we wanted to drop off or pick up early. We will definitely use him again as long as he will have us!”

“Cristal is absolutely amazing. I don’t think my baby even wanted to leave 😅 benji got to make some friends, taken on walks and lots of play time. Cristal sent me pictures and updates the entire time, and I can 100% say me and Benji both were very comfortable and will be back 😄”

“It was our first time leaving our pet Sam for overnight stay and for several days. Sam has anxiety with new people and other dogs but Sujit made the process easy. He sent us pictures everyday to show how Sam is doing and is flexible with the drop-off and pick-up times. We will definitely use Sujit’s service the next time we need a”

“Omg!! There are no words to describe how completely wonderful and understanding she was. She had so much patience for my Frida who was extremely anxious and peed on herself. She was super kind and made sure she had a great time. She took care of both of our dogs so well and we are super grateful to her. She gave them their medications and kept me updated every day. Couldn’t be happier with the care they received.”

“Absolutely love Kathy and her family for all of the love they give to our fur baby Max! They treat him with love and kindness! We can go away and rest easy knowing that Max is treated like one of their own fur babies!!! Definitely will always have them on speed dial for caring for our Max!!”

“Bonnie is a gem. She’s very easy to work with. Her family was wonderful with our dog. The pics gave us ease our dog was just fine. I have used her twice already and will continue to do so.”

“Our Beagle Bo had such a wonderful time. We used to take him to the Pets Frolic Inn in Brentwood. He would come back dirty and without a barking voice from barking so much and he was kind of disoriented for a good hour. The stay with Cindy was like he was staying at our house. I will definitely go back and would highly recommend her.”

“This was my dog’s first time in a new home, and Marilu made me feel completely at ease. She took so much time and care to make sure my dog felt welcomed and comfortable. I truly appreciated the daily updates and photos—seeing my dog so happy and relaxed meant the world to me. Marilu has such a kind and loving soul, and her two dogs are some of the friendliest I've ever met. She did an amazing job, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, responsible sitter. She's awesome!”

“I had such an amazing experience booking with Deana. It was my first time booking with Rover and she was so understanding and kind! She is very knowledgeable and truly wanted to get to know my pup. It really put my mind at ease during my pups stay! She sent pictures and an update every day and it was so nice to feel engaged while he was gone. I definitely recommend Deana and will definitely book with her in the future!”

“Dipankar and Nagma were wonderful with our 2-year-old GSD. They kept us updated with photos all day and gave us a full report at pickup. Our dog clearly loved them—he even tried to follow Nagma back inside when we were leaving! An amazing experience. Thank you both!"”

“Shuting and her family were great with our dog, she stayed for 2 weeks and when we picked her up she looked happy and healthy. And they even went above and beyond and gave her a (probably much needed with the rain and running) bath. We would have her stay again if needed :).”

“Cooper was genuinely cared for and very well taken care of by Rachana and her family! We were at peace due to regular and detailed updates about his settling in phase. Being an anxious pup, Cooper needs a considerable amount of patience and love to feel at home and he seemed to feel at ease very soon at Rachana’s place. Their pup is super friendly too and was great company for Cooper during his stay! Thank you for your care and affection towards Cooper!”

“Punam was amazing!! I contacted her in short notice and she was way more than accommodating! Archie loved her and was happy when I picked him up! I will definitely use her again!!”

“Outstanding!!! Could not ask for a better person to take care of our dog. My dog is getting older in kennels she never eats and very unhappy. With Angelina our dog was very happy, ate, safe and had a good time. Could not ask for a better service. Thank you again”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Noverd home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Noverd.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Noverd sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
